1. What are the advantages and disadvantages of living in a big family?

Living in a big family can be both exciting and challenging.

One of the biggest advantages is that you never feel alone. There’s always someone to talk
to, and you receive emotional and sometimes financial support. For example, when I had
exams, my older cousin helped me review the lessons and gave me useful tips.

Another advantage is that you can learn valuable life skills from different people—like how to
cook, take care of younger siblings, or manage time.

However, living in a big family also has disadvantages. Privacy can be a big issue. It’s hard
to find a quiet place to concentrate, especially when many people live under the same roof.

For example, during online classes, my house was often noisy, and I found it difficult to stay
focused. Also, conflicts may happen because of different habits or opinions.

Overall, I believe a big family is a blessing, but it requires understanding and respect from
everyone.

2. How do parents influence their children’s personality?

Parents have a strong influence on their children’s character development.

Firstly, children tend to imitate their parents. For example, if parents are calm and patient,
children are more likely to develop the same attitude.

My father is a very disciplined person—he wakes up early, works hard, and always keeps his
promises. Watching him for years has made me value responsibility and self-control.

Secondly, the way parents handle problems also teaches children how to react to
challenges. If a parent always blames others or avoids problems, the child may learn to do
the same.

In my case, my mother always reminds me to stay calm and think positively, even when
things go wrong. Thanks to her, I’ve learned to stay optimistic and find solutions instead of
complaining.

So in short, parents don’t just raise children—they also shape their future behavior and
mindset.

3. How has your family changed in recent years?

My family has gone through a few changes in recent years, but nothing too dramatic.
One major change happened when I was in grade 6. At that time, my parents decided to
move away to work in another city. Since then, I’ve had to take more responsibility at home,
like cooking simple meals or helping my grandparents. This experience helped me grow and
become more independent.

Another recent change is that my cousin got married at the beginning of this year, so I now
have a brother-in-law. It’s been fun welcoming a new member into the family, and it also
brought our relatives closer together.

Aside from that, not much has changed. We are still connected and support each other. We
communicate regularly by phone, and we meet during holidays. Even if we live apart, the
feeling of family is still strong.

4. What family tradition do you enjoy most?

The family tradition I enjoy most is ancestor worship in the spirit of Buddhism. On special
days, we offer incense, flowers, and vegetarian food at the altar. We spend quiet time
reflecting on our ancestors’ lives and their good qualities. This practice brings peace to our
minds and helps us stay grateful. It also connects us to our spiritual roots and reminds us to
live with kindness. I feel calm and happy whenever we follow this tradition together.

5. What challenges do modern families face today?

Modern families often face the challenge of emotional distance caused by technology. Many
people spend hours on their phones and become lost in the online world. As a result, real
conversations and family bonding are reduced. Even when families are together, they can
feel apart. This weakens relationships and causes misunderstandings. To improve this,
families need to spend more quality time talking face to face.

6. In what ways can siblings influence each other’s lives?

Siblings can greatly influence each other in both positive and negative ways. Older siblings
often guide younger ones and give advice based on their experience. Younger siblings can
also teach older ones new ways of thinking. They support each other emotionally during
difficult times. Their relationship helps build communication and cooperation skills. Overall,
siblings play an important role in shaping each other’s character.

7. How does your family handle conflicts and disagreements?

When there’s a conflict, my family usually holds a meeting to talk things through calmly. Each
person gets a chance to share their feelings and opinions. We try to find a fair solution that
works for everyone. Sometimes, after solving the problem, we plan a trip or fun activity
together. This helps bring back a positive and loving atmosphere. It keeps our family strong
and united.
8. What role do grandparents play in your family?

Grandparents play a very important role in my family. They connect the older and younger
generations with their stories and experiences. They often help care for the grandchildren
and support the parents. Their wisdom and patience bring peace to the family. They also
teach us about traditions and values. With them, our family feels more united and complete.

9. How does family expectation affect young people’s choices?

Family expectations can have a strong effect on young people’s decisions. Sometimes they
feel pressure to follow a certain career path or lifestyle. This can lead to stress or fear of
disappointing their parents. However, family support can also motivate them to do their best.
It’s important for families to understand and listen to each other’s dreams. A balance
between guidance and freedom is very helpful.

10. What makes a family strong and supportive?

A strong and supportive family is built on trust and understanding. Family members listen to
each other and give emotional support. They help one another during hard times and
celebrate successes together. Encouragement and care keep the family bond healthy.
Respect and open communication are also very important. When everyone feels safe and
valued, the family becomes a true source of strength.
