Somewhere in the rustic towns of India, a young boy named Chintu eagerly ran
down the narrow, damaged roads with his hands fisted and his cross-body bag
swinging wildly at his side. His bright eyes shone with excitement, and his
smiling lips revealed his half-broken teeth as he sprinted towards his cozy
home.
Situated on the last lane of the town, Chintu's house faced a dense forest, while
towering structures loomed large in the distance behind his home. As he
reached his front yard, he pulled out a handful of seeds he had collected on his
way home. Astonished by the thought of something so small transforming into
something larger than himself, he carefully examined each seed before
grabbing a shovel and planting them in pots.
Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months, as Chintu tirelessly
tended to his plants each day. He woke up every morning with the first rays of
sun, just to water them with the right amount of water. He carefully observed
each plant, moving them slightly to the left or right to ensure they received the
perfect amount of sunlight. Chintu would also gently pat the soil in each pot, to
make sure that it was soft and moist enough to promote growth. His diligence
was relentless, as he never missed a day to tend to his beloved plants.
However, after seeing no response from the pots, he began to lose hope until a
single seedling finally emerged from one of the pots, filling Chintu's heart with
joy.

Dubbing the plant 'Magic,' Chintu devoted himself to its care, ensuring that it
received direct sunshine and was shielded from the elements. The plant grew
faster than any of the others, thriving under Chintu's diligent care. However,
one dark and stormy night, everything changed.
As Chintu lay trembling in his bed, he was oblivious to the chaos unfolding in
his garden. In the darkness of the stormy night, Magic, the only plant that had
come to life, was wreaking havoc. Its branches snapped and cracked as it
moved with a life of its own, jumping from plant to plant with deadly intent.
With each touch of its branches, Magic caused the other plants to die. It
wrapped around their stems, squeezing tightly until they snapped. It twisted
and turned, cutting off their access to water and nutrients until they choked to
death. It dug deep into the soil, uprooting its unsuspecting victims and leaving
them to wither away.
Despite the violent display of power, Magic was barely clinging to life itself, as if
the energy it had used to destroy its companions was also draining its own
vitality. The once peaceful garden had become a scene of destruction and
chaos, all while Chintu remained unaware of the devastation just outside his
window.
Guilt-ridden and heartbroken, Chintu became even more devoted to the plant's
care, tending to it with great care and attention. However, his dedication was
short-lived, as he began to have vivid nightmares in which he was responsible
for the death of his other plants.
Despite his nightmares, Chintu continued to care for Magic with a fierce and
tender love. However, one night, Chintu awoke to find his beloved Magic
plucking sprouts from the ground with its own branches, just as a human would.
As Chintu witnessed the devastation that had been wrought upon his beloved
plants, a sense of overwhelming betrayal washed over him. With tears
streaming down his face, he lunged towards the plant, his rage blinding him to
reason. However, as he started striking magic, he found himself stopped in his
tracks by the plant's branches. Magic was protecting itself, clutching Chintu's
arms and legs with its vines, preventing him from dealing any further damage.
Chintu struggled to break free from the plant's grasp, but to no avail. As he
grappled with the vines, he and Magic tumbled to the ground. The impact
jostled the branches of the plant, causing them to loosen their hold on Chintu's
limbs. Seizing the opportunity, Chintu snatched up a nearby shovel and swung
it at Magic with all his might. The blow struck true, leaving the plant badly
wounded and gasping for air. As Chintu stood there, panting and sweating from
the exertion, he realized what he had done and sank to the ground in despair.

The next morning was warm. With a heavy heart, Chintu left his home and
carried the pot containing Magic's remains back to the spot where he had taken
the seed. After placing the pot down, Chintu walked away, crying as he
mourned the separation of his beloved plant.
Days turned into nights, and Chintu found himself unable to forget about Magic.
He missed the plant so much that he resolved to bring it back, but the heavy
rain prevented him from doing so. In the night that followed, new seedlings
began to emerge from the other pots, filling Chintu's heart with mixed
emotions.
Despite his longing for Magic, Chintu began to feel a sense of peace and
contentment as he looked out at his yard and smiled, realizing that the plants
he had tended to so lovingly were still thriving, even without his constant care.
