(Question asked to Adyan: Could you please share your thoughts regarding how the
relationship between humans and nature can be more intensified?)
From my perspective, I think the criteria of how we can reduce climate change
and eliminate its impacts is how the relationship between humans and nature
can be more intensified.
To begin with, climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperature and
weather patterns, mainly due to human activities like fossil fuel use and
deforestation. Its effects are extensive, causing more frequent heatwaves,
severe storms, rising sea levels, and threats to food and water security. The
United Nations warns that climate change worsens poverty, inequality, and
environmental degradation, potentially pushing 100 million people into extreme
poverty by 2030 (UN, 2020).
To reduce climate change, we must lower emissions and transition to
renewable energy, as targeted in the Paris Agreement’s goal of keeping
warming below 2°C (UNFCCC, 2015). Individuals can conserve energy, reduce
waste, and support clean energy, while governments and companies can
prioritize renewable energy, reforestation, sustainable agriculture, and green
infrastructure. These actions are crucial for mitigating climate change and
fostering a sustainable future.
