Job Summary:
The Security Guard is responsible for safeguarding the chemical plant, its employees, and assets by
maintaining a secure and safe environment. The role requires vigilance, adherence to safety
protocols, and knowledge of chemical hazard procedures. The guard will control access, monitor for
threats, and act swiftly in emergencies, ensuring compliance with industrial security regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and control access to the facility through gates, doors, and barriers.
Check identification, inspect vehicles, and screen visitors, contractors, and employees.
Conduct regular, scheduled, and surprise patrols of the facility, including production areas,
storage tanks, warehouses, and perimeter zones - during both day and night shifts.
Specifically monitor for unauthorized phone usage, people sleeping during duty hours,
or other violations of discipline, and report such behaviour immediately.
Observe and report suspicious behaviour, safety violations, or hazardous conditions.
Respond to alarms, emergencies, fire drills, and chemical spill incidents following company
SOPs.
Enforce mobile phone discipline and ensure that staff are alert and in proper uniform during
duty with required PPEs.
Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and observations.
Operate surveillance systems (CCTV) and security alarms.
Enforce safety rules and assist in evacuations or lockdowns if needed.
Support HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) teams during audits and drills.
Report any tampering with chemical materials or suspicious activity near storage or
production areas.
Assist in crowd control during shift changes or emergency situations.
Prevent theft, sabotage, and vandalism by maintaining high vigilance.
Cooperate with emergency services, including fire, medical, or law enforcement, when
required.
Check that materials going out of the gates are covered by proper authorization and
recorded in appropriate registers. Also keep record of all materials coming in.
To deal with anti-social, rowdy elements and remove them from the site as per the
instructions of Supervisors and management.

Access Control
Verify identity and credentials of all drivers, visitors, and contractors before granting access.
Issue visitor badges and maintain visitor logs — no entry without proper documentation and
authorization.
Ensure restricted areas (e.g., chemical storage, production, IT server rooms) are only
accessible to authorized personnel.
Personnel & Vehicle Screening
Screen unfamiliar or third-party vehicles and individuals entering the facility, especially
logistics vendors and service staff.
Perform under-vehicle checks using mirrors or scanners where applicable.
Physical Barriers & Locks
Inspect fences, gates, locks, lighting, and surveillance cameras regularly.
Report any broken lights, damaged fencing, or unlocked access points to supervisors
immediately.
Documentation Verification
Cross-check vehicle entry/exit data in ERP or register with dispatch/shipping documents.
Ensure proper gate passes are present and signed for every inbound and outbound material
movement.
Reporting & Incident Logging
Report:
Unauthorized entry attempts
Suspicious behaviour (e.g., loitering, unaccompanied visitors)
Irregularities in truck seal or container body
Maintain incident logs and submit daily security check reports to supervisors.
Warehouse/Storage Checks
Patrol storage and loading/unloading areas to ensure:
No unattended cargo is lying around.
Hazardous material is secured and locked.
No signs of tampering with packaging, containers, or drums.
Frisking:
Proper Frisking of workers to restrict tobacco items.
Prevention of unauthorized items.
