Water Conservation And Its Effects On American Urban...
Water Conservation
How do we stabilize the use of water in American Urban cities without wasting too much money and
drastically changing the lifestyles of people?
When it comes to water conservation, there are two types of changes that are looked upon. There are
little changes in the lifestyles of people and there are changes using technology. Within the two, the
majority of people look at changes using technology, such as desalination and water recycling. In the
other end, mostly environmentalists and vegan activists look at the amount of water eating food
uses and how the agriculture industry uses about half the water in the United States. But is this
really true? And which form of water conservation can be most efficient for the prolongment of the
earth?
Objective definitions are necessary in to understand what stabilization of the use of water really
means. The Merriam Webster Definition of stabilize is to make stable, steadfast, or firm. To be
stable is to be in a good state or condition that is not easily changed or likely to change, according
to Merriam Webster. In this research paper, I will be using stabilization of water as efficiently using
water and not letting it go to waste, such as the what The United States and other more developed
country have already doing. Desalination is converting seawater into drinking water. Rainwater
Harvesting is capturing water through rain and storing for later use. Green roofs are a form of
rainwater harvesting where
Jean-Jacques Rousseau s A Discourse On The Sciences And Arts
Are you familiar with the philosopher Jean Jacques Rousseau?Jean Jacques Rousseau was one of
the most influential thinkers during the period of Enlightenment in eighteenth century Europe. His
first major philosophical work, A Discourse on the Sciences and Arts, was the winning response to
an essay contest that was conducted by the Academy of Dijon in 1750. In this work, Rousseau
argues that the progression of the sciences and arts has caused the corruption of virtue as well as
morality. This discourse won Rousseau fame, recognition, and it laid the foundation for many
modern beliefs. Jean Jacques Rousseau was a very brilliant and influential thinker for his time.
However, some of his philosophies were absolutely ridiculous.... Show more content on

My opinion on this arguement is that it is absolutely and totally ridiculous, The first reason I
believe this is because it blames the advancement of society on peoples personal decisions to be
invirtuous and immoral, The idea that the futhering and increasement of knowledge and society
is completely idiotic. There are multiple reasons I think that method of thinking is flawed and
dangerous for our society. First off, if you allow people to believe that blaming their problems on
someones else is ok , you create a society that lacks initiative and responsibility. As a result you
would directly create and group that relies more on say the government to fix their problems.
Once those people make their requests known there will then be a influx of politicians that only
have their personal agendas in mind. Then those politicians will lie to those citizens to get into
office. Once they have successfully made it into office they will create bills that will alter the
country for their benifit. The same goes for radicals on the other side. The ideal society in my
opinion is one in which people are taught
Authenticity And Cover Song Analysis
The theory of authorship often challenge the ideals of authenticity, especially within the context of
cover songs. This is due to the fact that the composer of the song is a separate entity from the
performer. Society has often valued composer performers as it has been encoded in culture within
the past century. the attempt to understand the past in terms of the past is paradoxically an
absolutely contemporary phenomenon. Authenticity is a historically specific abstraction and
therefore, will continuously be subjected to reconsiderations as our societal construction of
authenticity changes through time. A cover versionis seemingly an art form that contains a thin line
that dictates the authentic an artist presents their image within... Show more content on

Sincerity therefore emerges as an intrinsic factor within the concepts of both authorship and
authenticity. Sincerity and autobiography are techniques one can employ in the service of personal
authenticity, just as using traditional instruments and singing old songs are techniques one can use
in the service of cultural authenticity. The guitar solo proposes an interesting interaction with the
rock genre and a possible reference to the version of Word Up performed by the rock band, Gun.
While this is not the same solo included in Gun s version, it is similar in construction and tone thus
demonstrating and evolution of the piece as it is passes through each artist s rendition. As a result of
this, Little Mix have provided an authentic essence of a previous rendition within the style of rock
while maintaining the songs original pop based anthem sound. Through this analysis, it is apparent
that compositions, even within the composer s mind are rarely concrete and alterations through time
are inevitable. The notion of authenticity can consequently be challenged as society endeavours to
find that which is
Women Of The American Civil War
Mothers of Invention: Women of the Slaveholding South in the American Civil War provides a look
into the rarely discussed topic of women in the South during the time of the Civil War. While other
authors consider the implications of slavery or military tactics from the viewpoint of men, Faust
offers a refreshing take on these subjects along with others to construct a narrative that examines the
role of women from a genderand class standpoint. Additionally, Faust suggests that women s roles
within the framework of war created new functions in their everyday lives. While the author does
talk about the subject of women, many of her points are familiar as they are comparable to other
books.
Faust clearly states her argument within the first few pages of her book, and later expands on the
concept of women s roles within the context of war in the South by stating, The upheavals of war
created conceptual and emotional as well as social dislocations, compelling southerners to rethink
their most fundamental assumptions about their identities and the logic of their places in the world.
(Faust, 4) She however, does not stop there and throughout the book it is evident that class position
and a non feminist versus feminist perspective are integral in considering her thesis as well. As she
moves from subject to subject within her book, the author clearly, and sometimes subtly, presents her
argument while demonstrating that the Civil War did indeed change the role of women within
The Importance Of Guerrilla Warfare In The Revolutionary War
Guerrilla Warfare led to the Success of the Revolutionary war
A sneaky, stealthy war tactic called Guerilla Warfare won the American Revolutionary War for the
Patriots. Guerrilla warfare is a tactic that was practiced a lot in the revolutionary war and was
without a doubt one of the few reasons the Patriots defeated the British. Guerrilla warfare helped the
colonists win the Revolutionary war. This tactic was used successfully used in the Battle of Trenton,
the Battle of Lexington and Concord, and was widely practiced by Francis Marion in the south.
Guerrilla warfare is a tactic that does not involve head on head warfare. It is a tactic where the side
using it will hide within their surroundings. For example, the Patriots in the Revolutionary War used
all of their surroundings to their advantage like trees, rocks, houses, and walls.
Guerrilla warfare was a big part in winning many battles in the Revolutionary war. One of biggest
wins using this tactic was the Battle of Trenton. The Battle of Trenton was fought December 26,
1776 in Trenton, New Jersey. General George Washingtondecided to take the Hessians by surprise.
The Hessians were approximately 30,000 German soldiers that Great Britain hired to help them win
the war and about 1,400 were in Trenton. General George Washington took his soldiers and crossed
the Delaware river at the stroke of midnight. They were going to attack the Hessians while they were
all sleeping. Most people think that the

Analysis Of The Shack
Counting On star Ben Seewald has warned his Christian followers on social media that The Shack
movie, in which Octavia Spencer portrays God the Father, presents a false concept of God which
could be planted into viewers minds.
In a video posted on Instagram, Seewald urged his followers to click on a certain link which leads to
Dr. Michael Youssef s article on The Leading Way ministry website. The 21 year old reality star
proceeded to talk about the false God presented in The Shack, which he said is not aligned with the
God revealed in the Bible, The Christian Post relays.
There is a God presented to us in The Shack a false god. A god of human imagination that directly
contradicts this idea of God directly contradicts a God who
Food In The Elizabethan Era
Where did they get their food in the Elizabethan Era?

The Elizabethan Era took place in 1558 1603 and is considered by many historians to be the golden
age in English History. During this era England exploited peace and prosperity while the arts
flourished. This time aeon is named after Queen Elizabeth I, who dominated England during this
time. I researched food in the Elizabethan Era and here is what I acquisitioned.
For my outline, my question was, How did they get their food in the Elizabethan Era? . To look up
the answer to my question I first went on google and searched 3 things. Food eaten in the
Elizabethan Era , Farming in the Elizabethan Era , and Cooking in the olden days . I found some
formidable information, and I found ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The meats they ate were lamb, beef, mutton, pork, bacon, veal, rabbit, hare, fowl, peacock, swan,
goose, blackbirds and pigeon. They also ate heterogeneous kinds of freshwater and sea fish. The
vegetables they ate were turnips, parsnips, carrots, onions, leeks, garlic and radishes, and the fruits
they ate were apples, pears, plums, cherries and strawberries. Some herbs that they ate and used for
auxiliary spices were Avens, Borage, Clary, Dittany, Galingale, Hyssop, Laver, Orach, Pellitory,
Purslane, Rocket, Rose Hips, St.John s Wort, and Southernwood. These herbs had nonsensical names
and are no longer used in cooking.
For my second search, I searched Farming in the Elizabethan Era , and I found out that men who
were farmers were accountable for plowing, weeding, sowing seeds, applying fertilizer, and
harvesting agricultural products. Women, on the other hand, assisted in harvesting and winnowing
grain. When women were not doing this, they were customarily relegated to more difficult tasks,
such cooking, cleaning, and sewing. Back then, there were not any chemicals to keep the crops
clean so many people will catch various diseases such as The Plague, Smallpox, and Syphilis.
Farming was a unsanitary job back

Edgar Allen Poe s Annabel Lee
Edgar Allen Poe is known for writing incredible, but oftentimes disturbing poems that center
around various themes and topics. His poem Annabel Lee discusses the affection he has for a
particular woman and goes on to discuss certain events at the ocean where she inevitably dies. Poe
changes the mood of the poem quite effectively as he begins by happily discussing his affection,
and ending by describing the death of the woman he loves and expressing his sadness for her death.
He is able to do this by using symbolism throughout the poem, in addition to alliteration and vivid
imagery that appeals to his readers. Though Poe makes his affection and love for Annabel Leevery
clear throughout the poem, he never gives a description of the woman or offers any details about
her other than her name. This leads to the conclusion that she is symbolic rather than a literal
person who Poe has found. She serves as a symbol of perfect love and beauty that is impossible to
find, let alone keep. In addition to describing the setting as a kingdom by the sea, Poe details
Annabel as a maiden that is well known which alludes... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the poem s conclusion, Poe uses the alliteration of sepulchre and sea , in addition to side of the
sea (Poe, 495). Though it is a minor effort on Poe s part, the use of alliteration has a lasting effect
on his readers in addition to adding to the illustration of the dark sea by creating a hissing sound
that alludes to evilness. In addition, Poe uses great imagery throughout Annabel Lee such as his
illustrating the demons and seraphs or the moon and the stars. His use of alliteration and imagery
create a better picture for the reader instead of simply writing words for them to read. His use of
refrains also creates this effect that is similar to a song which makes the poem even more

Manufactures Suggested Retail Price (MSRP)
As a group, team A collectively provided input and decisions on our MSRP in order to increase
sales and attempt to gain market shares. Thus we wanted to understand the price sensitivity of the
different target markets to set the appropriate price (Winer Dhar, 2016, p. 248). We carefully
reviewed the MSRP performance summary provided, starting with the first period, comparing it to
the average retail price by way of the channel report (ARPCR). The original price for Allround was
$5.29. At that time we were $.40 higher in price than our competition however the team felt that with

$5.70. As it relates to Allround + we took a bigger risk, increasing price by $0.75 with a final
pricing of $6.05. The results did not prove to be as favorable as we would have liked. Although
sales increased, our net income, stocks and share of manufacturer sales fluctuated throughout the
simulation. Some of the decisions made did not always prove favorable, for our team, Allround
went from $102.1M to $148.6M in unit sales and $355.3M to $537.8M in sales. (See figure 1).
Allround + went from $7.4M to $38.6M in unit sales and grew from $24.2 to $109.8M in

Characteristics Of Ted Bundy
People are all different, that should not come as a surprise for anyone. Our individual DNA sets
us apart from everyone else and makes us who we are. But at the same time we are all the same;
we are all human, our social, physical and emotional needs are basically the same as the next
persons. But in some occasions something makes a one human being so different it makes that
person do things an average person could not fathom why or for what. Serial killers are set apart
from normal people by their cruelty and lack of emotional stability. This unstability in them comes
from lack of stibilityu at home, and when a person has a though childhood (s)he might turn her/his

For this reason Bundy s grandparents raised him until his mother married and her husband adopted
him. But the fact that Bundy raised up thinking his real mother was his sister made him angry
towards his mother. Adding to the complicated family life Bundy had he was always quite a loner
and had difficulty finding friends. Ted Bundy also showed unusual and unhealthy interest in extreme
violence and dead animals, which is also a common trait of serial killers .
Ted Bundy attended college, where he met his first girlfriend Stephanie Brooks. Relationship with
his girlfriend in college may be one of the reasons Bundy started to resent women. In addition to
his mother lying to him about his origins, Bundy s girlfriend broke up with him, allegedly saying
that Bundy would be a failure in life since he dropped out of college, this was in 1968 . After
breaking up with his first girlfriend Bundy begun to travel around the States and enrolled himself in
university again.
Ted Bundy was very precise and careful with the murder scenes. He almost never left any evidence
or other information who was the killer (this was of course before discovery of DNA analysis). He
almost never killed in just one place, he had rather big range of land where he killed his
Berkeley Personal Statement
You made a mistake. I am sure that hundreds of students and parents have spoken these sentiments
to the admission department at UC Berkeley in the course of the past few weeks. I am sure that
thousands more throughout the state, throughout the country even, have laughed, cried, and yelled
these words, being sure to diminish your institution with each remark. Personally, I hold Berkeley
in the highest regards as far as colleges go; having been a life long Bay Area resident, I have come
to cherish the diverse atmosphere and thirst for knowledge in Berkeley and the surrounding area
entropy. It is in this high esteem for the university and the community that I write this candid letter.

A final, more personal note as to why I so desire to attend Berkeley over a few of my other
possibilities: in the middle of November, in the midst of completing the bulk of my college
applications, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Combined with applying to college,
completing homework, staying on top of classes, and keeping my commitments to extra
curricular activities, the knowledge that my mom has a serious form of cancer made those few
months all the more stress filled and difficult. Thank the Lord, my mom has successfully
completed radiation and continues to see specialists regularly, solidifying her status in my mind
as the strongest person I know. Going off to college, I am going to miss my mom dearly, and she
will dearly miss me. I ve always been very close with her, and I recognize the ambivalence within
her of wanting me to stay close to home in the Bay Area while wanting what s best for me. I feel
similar sentiments, having the strong urge to protect and care for my mom, visiting on a regular
basis, while desiring to grow as a person into the man I strive to be. Berkeley would be the perfect
choice of school in relation to both aspects: its proximity to my home town of Livermore, as well as
the educational opportunities Berkeley
