● Step 1: Planning

● Route Planning > Deciding origin and destination, commodity specification (weight,
dimension). Full Load/ Partial Load

● Step 3: Booking Loads and Filling Out Documents
● After confirming everything on call, The broker will send a link to fill out the carrier packet (it
will require carrier all information such as W9, COI, NOA etc.). Sometimes the broker also sends
pdf carrier packet. Depends on every broker. But mostly it will be through links. Note that you
don’t have to fill out a carrier packet every time with one broker.

● Step 4: Rate Confirmation and Driver Instructions
● After filling out Carrier Packet, You will get the Rate Confirmation from the broker and you are
good to go. Ensure you send the RC to the driver timely and he reaches the pick-up location
on time. Tell the driver if the broker has asked any special requirements from the driver
(such as TWIC card, Wearing PPE etc.).
● When you reach the pick up location. The shipper will give you a signed Bill of Landing.
● Step 5: Cargo in Transit
● Make throughout communication with the driver until he safely reaches the drop off location. If
some delay happens during transit due to inevitable circumstances (bad weather, accidents, road
closure etc.), make sure you inform the broker timely.

● Step 6: Delivery and Unloading
● Make sure you schedule the delivery with the receiver to avoid wasting time. When the
commodity has been unloaded safely take a picture and send it to the broker.
● Make sure to have a sign of the receiver on the Bill of Landing and it will become Proof of
Delivery, Which you can send it to the broker later.

● If the broker company is factored then the factoring company will pay the carrier in 1-2 days. But
for No factored brokers there are multiple payment methods such as Quickpay, cashapp, zelle,
cash on delivery.
