·   Varied beginnings:
  Before dedicating himself to advertising, Ogilvy had several jobs,
including chef, cookware salesman, and market researcher.
·Entry into advertising:
 In 1948, he founded his own agency in New York called Ogilvy &
Mather, which quickly became one of the most important agencies in
the world.
·Advertising philosophy:
 Ogilvy promoted deep consumer research, clarity in messaging, and
creativity based on real data. He believed that a good advertisement
should sell and be honest.
·Famous campaigns:
o For Rolls-Royce: "The best car to drive at 60 miles an hour is a Rolls-
Royce."
o For Hathaway Shirts: The man with the eye patch, which had a great
impact.
o For Schweppes: Introduced "Commander Whitehead," a fictional
character created to add prestige.
·Key publications:
o Confessions of an Advertising Man (1963) — A book where he shares
his principles and experiences.
o Ogilvy on Advertising (1983) — Considered an essential manual for
advertisers.
·Legacy:
 His work defined advertising based on research and creativity focused
on results. Many of his ideas remain relevant and are studied in
