This paper is made up two Sections A and B
Section A is compulsory
Section B has two parts I and ii
Answer one item from part I and one item from part II
Answer only three items in this paper.
All your answers should be written in the answer booklets provided.

SECTION A (COMPULSORY)
ITEM I
Rita runs a small business and uses a single computer to manage her inventory, process
sales reports, and maintain customer data. She has basic knowledge of ICT but struggles
with starting the system correctly, using spreadsheets to track finances, and securing her
data. Rita recently experienced a computer crash that resulted in data loss. She is
concerned that if this continues, she may lose crucial business information.
Task:
(a) Guide Rita in selecting the appropriate ICT tools and practices for managing her
business.
(b) Advise Rita on how to protect her data and prevent further loss through effective
security measures.

SECTION B (PART I) Answer one item
ITEM 2
At the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS), over 90% of employees spend long hours in
front of computers entering and analyzing national data. Recently, a health inspection
revealed increased cases of eye strain, headaches, and back pain due to poor ICT work
habits.
Management has no existing ICT health and safety awareness material.
The agency lacks simple, clear materials to train staff on healthy ICT practices.
Task:
As a volunteer from the National ICT Youth Program, propose ICT health and safety
guidelines that UBOS should enforce to protect its staff members.
ITEM 3
A community ICT center in Mubende Town runs digital skills training for out-of-school
youth. Over the years, unused computers, broken printers, and outdated keyboards have
piled up in the storeroom. Locals have started dumping more electronics near the center.
Health officials have warned of toxic risks, but no plan is in place.
The ICT center has no strategy for managing the growing e-waste, risking health and
community trust.
Task:
(a) As an ICT student at the community ICT center in Mubende Town, describe the dangers
of poor disposal of E-waste
(b) Explain the responsible ways the school can dispose of or manage this E-waste in line
with environmental safety.
SECTION B (PART II) Answer one item
ITEM 4
Derrick Muwanga, a young job seeker, visits the Uganda Airlines website and sees a
vacancy for a “Digital Customer Experience Officer.” The website says applicants must
understand social media and email communication. He prepares his CV and cover letter
but isn’t sure how to write a professional email or refer to the website information.
Derrick must send a professional application email but has no computer knowledge.
Task:
If Derrick approaches as an ICT student, help him to send his academic documents to
jobs@ugandairlines.com.

ITEM 5
At the Young Voices Media Club, students are assigned to produce a short documentary
on teenage drug abuse in urban areas. They must collect data, create posters, prepare a
slideshow, and record voiceovers. However, many are confused about which software to
use for writing, designing, presenting, or recording.
There is confusion in choosing and using the right software for different tasks in the media
project.
Task:
As a member of the Young Voices media club with the ICT knowledge, help your friends
to choose the appropriate software to use and what each software does.
