technicians who work in the field every day, so as to extend and increase

The TEXA IDC4 autodiagnostics environment provides direct access to individual functions, such as

TGS3s function
TGS3s (TEXA Global Scan 3) is an innovative function that automatically scans all
diagnosable* electronic control units on a vehicle in a matter of seconds.

In addition to being super-fast in accessing and automatically recognising different ECUs,


as soon as the scan ends and results have been processed, TGS3s displays all the errors
detected on the vehicle along with codes and descriptions, and allows errors to be cancelled with a
single click. A soon as the results of the scan become available, you can select any control unit from the
list to run an autodiagnostic test on it. This important new function makes diagnostic operations easier
than ever and can even display and print a detailed scan report to deliver to the customer.

Exclusive functions to AXONE 4 and IDC4 PREMIUM


Exclusive to AXONE 4, the software comes with important new features that provide concrete support
for the everyday work of automotive technicians. IDC4 PREMIUM has updated and very user-friendly
graphics, with the menu divided into five scrolling screens for direct access (Diagnostics, Data,
Measurements, myTEXA APP, Settings).

Via the Diagnostics menu, users can also access


the “Special Functions” for carrying out frequent
procedures, such as Program Keys/Keyless
Remotes, Regenerate Particulate Filter, Change
Dashboard Language, Replace Battery, Brake
pad replacement.

Using the “Remote Assistance” function, when needed TEXA personnel can establish
a remote connection to the tool and see exactly what is happening with the customer’s
vehicle.

The Data menu contains useful information for accessing vehicle technical data
and locating components. One special application, the “Manufacturer Link”, is
particularly useful as it allows direct access to all the technical information provided by
manufacturers relating to the vehicle’s original equipment.

The App concept*
Electronics are becoming increasingly common on modern vehicles, spreading to components that
not so long ago were simply mechanical. This has created a situation in which new requirements arise
due to diversification of the services offered by automotive technicians and the evolution of customer
vehicle fleets.
As a consequence, automotive technicians need to carry out a much vaster range of procedures,
making it harder to choose the best diagnostics tools and subscription services for their
workshop. To meet these new requirements, TEXA not only provides
traditional subscriptions and upgrade options, but also an innovative
diagnostic “App” concept, inspired by the world of consumer
electronics.

From the IDC4 main menu, customers can now access the TEXA APP, offering a list of Apps available:
functions that are not available for the customer’s profile are identified by a darker icon.
To order any of these Apps, customers can simply click the icon, opening a simple and user-friendly
procedure to order the App from the reseller and install it on their tool.

AXONE S

AXONE S is designed to satisfy the latest maintenance needs that have emerged as a result of constant evolution in
electronics, affecting all vehicle components. Today, not just mechanics but tyre fitters, suspension tuners, FAST-FIT
centres and even service station operators have to be able to interface with and diagnose electronic systems.
AXONE S is TEXA’s first Multiutility tool, and is currently available in DIAGNOSIS, FAST-FIT, and TPS configurations,
with others due to be added in future. Specialists can therefore choose the tool most appropriate to their needs.

DIAGNOSIS Utility: satisfies the demand for a diagnostic system that is simple to use but still incorporates all the
basic functions of IDC4 software (TGS3s, SCAN VIN, “SOLVED PROBLEMS”, EOBD Scan Tool, etc.). This version is
also ideal for garages who need a second diagnostic tool to complement their main tool or a personal tool for each
mechanic. This configuration includes IDC4a DIAGNOSIS software.
FAST-FIT Utility: permits users to perform essential repair and maintenance tasks on the braking system, air
conditioning system, starting system, steering and steering column systems, instrumentation, lights and even
certain engine functions. This version also performs extremely useful service resets. This configuration includes
IDC4a FAST-FIT software.
TPS Utility: ideal for tyre fitters who need a tool capable of performing operations connected with the TPMS system,
including the reprogramming of control units. TPMS becomes obligatory in Europe from 1st November 2014. This

AXONE 4 is a tool designed especially to solve all problems that may occur
both inside and outside the workshop. It can withstand knocks, falls, mud
and dust, and is compliant with military standard MIL STD 810F. AXONE 4
communicates with all TEXA diagnostic interfaces via Bluetooth. It can
connect to the workshop’s network over a Wi-Fi link to download the latest
database updates, or use a smartphone to connect to the internet if you are
away from the workshop. AXONE 4 also has a remote assistance function to
allow TEXA’s experts to connect remotely and see exactly what is happening

Navigator nano S

Navigator Nano S is a latest generation vehicle interface from TEXA that lets you run all kinds of diagnostics on cars,
light commercials, motorcycles, scooters, quads and jetskis.
Every aspect of the Navigator Nano S has been carefully designed and developed to fully satisfy the needs of the

NAVIGATOR TXTs 26 pin is a powerful multibrand diagnostics and autodiagnostics tool that connects directly to the
vehicle’s diagnostic socket, and communicates via Bluetooth with the AXONE 4, AXONE 4 Mini and MULTI PEGASO
display units, or alternatively with a Windows PC. Wireless connectivity means users can carry out diagnostics testing
while being free to move around the vehicle and workshop.

European legislation requires that from 1st November 2014, all vehicles destined
for the transport of passengers must be equipped as standard with TPMS
(Tyre Pressure Monitoring System).
TEXA has developed two solutions: a classic one, TPS, and a “plus” solution,
the AXONE S TPS. The AXONE S TPS is able to diagnose malfunctions in
the pressure monitoring system and dashboard warning light circuits and
handle all the other tyre-related operations tyre fitters have to deal with on a
daily basis, including tyre changes, summer/winter tread pattern changes and
regular tyre rotations.

TPS

TPS is the basic TEXA tool for tyre-related operations. It boasts an exceptional coverage of makes and models as
well as TEXA’s traditionally robust design and build quality.
Functioning is extremely simply: all you have to do is select the vehicle and TPS dialogues automatically with the
valve sensors. Moving the tool closer to the sensors allows you to activate them and check their efficiency even if
they are in stand-by mode. The tool’s own display reads out pressure, temperature and battery charge level (where
available), as well as the relevant identification codes and all other diagnostic information provided by the vehicle
manufacturer. The procedure is facilitated by a highly intuitive menu that guides you through the various options step
by step. TPS allows tyre fitters to check the condition of TPMS sensors and replace them if necessary.
If the original valve is replaced by a universal model, TPS can even program the new valve to assign it the same
identification code as the old one and link it to the receiver or vehicle control unit.
TPS also uses its radio link capabilities to provide a valuable accessory function: the tool can dialogue with remote
control systems for door opening checking the battery charge level.

AXONE S TPS

AXONE S TPS is the TEXA Multiutility solution that lets you dialogue with a vehicle’s TPMS system and connect to
the OBD socket to reprogram tyre pressure control units. In many vehicles, especially the latest models, the TPMS
control unit has to be reprogrammed every time a tyre is changed or tyres are rotated, summer/winter tread types
are changed or faulty sensors are replaced.
AXONE S TPS is the best solution currently available and allows tyre fitters to perform all tyre-related operations and
dialogue with the systems of all vehicle manufacturers. Simplicity is guaranteed by the Android™ operating system,
which follows you step by step, and provides instant access to all menus.
Among the many advantages of this great tool are its robust design and solid build and a superb 5 inch colour
capacitive touch screen that clearly displays all available functions and data.
Thanks to the Multiutility design of AXONE S, you can even install additional functions, adding FAST-FIT functionality
to the initial TPS configuration, for example. In this way you can use the same tool to set up steering angle sensors,
replace brake pads, adjust the height of electronic suspension systems, perform a range of tasks on the air
conditioning, starting, instrument and lighting systems, adjust certain engine functioning parameters and perform
service resets – an extremely useful function. With the DIAGNOSIS utility AXONE S becomes a simple diagnostic tool
but extremely effective.

Electrical diagnostics
TwinProbe

TwinProbe is the TEXA tool for acquiring the analogue and digital
measurements needed for all conventional diagnostic testing. It comes at a
lower price than UNIProbe, its “big brother”, however both share in common
outstanding practicality and precision for all automotive service operations. It
communicates with all TEXA display units or a Windows PC, either via a USB
connection or over a Bluetooth wireless link. The tool can be managed by
the IDC4 operating software, or MSS (Measurement System Software) when
used on a PC.

TwinProbe includes:
• Oscilloscope: two independent analogue channels, with inputs up to ± 200V,
complete with SIV function for interpreting the measured signal.
• Signal generator: for simulating the pulses generated by sensors and the
commands generated by control units and for testing solenoid valves, for
example.
• Ammeter: for measuring electric current intensity. A BICOR clamp-on
ammeter is needed to allow TwinProbe to run these tests.

Electrical diagnostics
UNIProbe

UNIProbe is a device for acquiring the analogue and digital measurements


needed for all conventional diagnostic testing. It communicates with all TEXA
display units or a Windows PC, either via a USB connection or over a Bluetooth
wireless link. An internal lithium battery guarantees excellent autonomy. The
tool can be managed by the IDC4 operating software, or MSS (Measurement
System Software) when used on a PC.

Incorporates six different tools in the one unit:


• Oscilloscope: four independent analogue channels, complete with SIV
function for interpreting the measured signal.
• Battery Probe: for testing the battery, as well as analysing and checking the
entire starting and charging system.
• TNET: for measurement and electrical analysis of CAN automotive
communication networks.
• Signal generator: for simulating the pulses generated by sensors and the

The increasingly widespread use of electronic systems on vehicles involves


a number of critical issues relating to sporadic or intermittent problems
that only occur in certain driving conditions and that, if not promptly solved,
may undermine the automotive technician’s credibility and professionalism.
Moreover, diagnostics can only be performed on some more recent electronic
systems when the vehicle is moving. To respond to these needs, TEXA has
developed OBD Log and OBD MATRIX, two mini-tools which have revolutionised
the approach to vehicle repairs.

On-board diagnostics
OBD Log

OBD Log is an electronic device that, connected directly to the car’s diagnostic socket, records engine management
errors and parameters in accordance with the EOBD standard for petrol vehicles starting from the EURO 3 emissions
standard, and EURO 4 for diesel engines. All this while the customer drives their car normally, consequently reducing
workshop time. OBD Log can, for example, provide complete analysis of engine parameters for emissions testing, or
alternatively check the right fuel/air mix for LPG engines.
At end of the period in which the vehicle is monitored, the device is removed from the car and connected to the
workshop’s PC. OBD Log SW Suite downloads the recorded parameters and sorts them according to individual
journey, so as to further assist the automotive technician in identifying the situation in which the fault occurs.

OBD Log won the “International Grand Prix Award for Automotive Innovation” in the “Workshop Tools” category at
the Paris Equip Auto show in 2009.

OBD Log SW Suite is the program used to download and
display on a PC all the data recorded by the OBD Log tool
over the period in which this is connected to the vehicle, so
as to monitor engine management problems. It can also
be used to configure the tool according to parameters
such as Vehicle Speed, Engine Revs, Engine Temperature,
Throttle Position and several others. In addition, it
manages a database with all the tests carried out on the
vehicle, sorted by date.

OBD MATRIX

OBD MATRIX is an innovative tool that connects to the car’s OBD socket, used for diagnostics functions and setting
the vehicle’s accessible electronic systems (except for those relating to safety) while the vehicle is moving, meaning
the vehicle spends less time in the workshop. Sporadic or intermittent faults in the various ECUs that are hard to
identify when the car is stationary, are now easily resolved using this sophisticated tool.
OBD MATRIX can carry out diagnostics on all makes, models and electronic systems managed by the IDC4 MATRIX
software. After monitoring the vehicle for a certain period, the automotive technician simply connects the tool to a PC
and downloads the data. All the parameters recorded by OBD MATRIX can be displayed, regardless of whether these
highlight any faults or unusual situations.

In 2010 OBD MATRIX won the “Automechanika Innovation Award” in the “Repair&Diagnostics” category at the
Automechanika Exhibition in Frankfurt, while in 2011 it took home the “Galería de Innovacíon” prize in the “Electronic
Diagnostics” category from the Motortec international exhibition in Madrid.
