Crochet Easter Basket Pattern

Materials:
1. 5.0mm hook
2. Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice Yarn in Duckie (pictured) or any worsted weight yarn

Stitches Used:
st: stitch
ss: slip stitch
sc: single crochet
hdc: half double crochet
dc: double crochet
ch: chain
mc: magic circle
Directions:
BASKET:
For the bottom of the basket, Rounds 1 through 6, you will be working in a continuous round

Holding 2 strands of the yarn together, make a magic circle

Round 1: sc 6 into mc (6sc)


Round 2: 2 sc into each st around (12sc)
Round 3: Repeat round 2 (24sc)
Round 4: [sc 2, 2sc into next st ] repeat around (32sc)
Round 5: [sc 3, 2sc into next st] repeat around (40sc)
Round 6: [sc 4, 2sc into next st] repeat around. ss to first st of round, ch 1, turn (48sc)
Round 7: in same st as ss from previous round, hdc in the back loop only and in each st around only in
the back loops. Join with ss to the first hdc of the round. Ch 1, turn
Round 8: sc, dc, sc, dc and continue this pattern around making sure to end with a dc. Ss to first sc of
round. Ch 1 and turn
Round 9: sc into the dc from previous round, dc into sc from previous round, continue alternating sc and
dc around. ss to first sc of round, ch 1 and turn

Rounds 10-14: Repeat Round 9. Do not fasten off at the end of round 14. You will be starting the handle.

HANDLE:
Row 1: sc, dc, sc, dc ch 1 and turn
Row 2: sc, dc, sc, dc ch 1 and turn
Rows 3-23: repeat Row 2
Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew handle to opposite side of basket, weave in ends.
