Common Types of Frostings and Their Storage Notes:
   Boiled Icing – Store at room temperature; do not refrigerate.
   Buttercream Frosting – Can be kept at room temperature for 3
    days or refrigerated for 2 weeks.
   Cream Cheese Frosting – Must be refrigerated; can be frozen.
   Fondant – Store unused in airtight containers at room
    temperature.
   Ganache – Room temperature for up to 2 days; can be frozen but
    may lose sheen.
   Royal Icing – Room temperature storage; dries quickly.
   Fresh Fruit Topping – Always refrigerate; use within hours of
    adding to cake.
