Tenderfoot Scout Rank
The Tenderfoot Scout Rank aims to prepare young Boy Scouts on their
exciting journey towards responsible citizenship. It is the first scout rank
under the Boy Scout Section that helps raise awareness and basic knowledge
about Safety, Citizenship and Filipino Heritage through active participation in
Community Service projects including the WSEP Aim No. 1.
1. Explain the meaning of the following: Scout Oath and Law, Scout
Motto, Boy Scout Slogan, Scout Sign, Scout Salute, Scout Handshake,
and the Scout Badge.
2. Attend regular religious services with the members of your family.
3. Explain the symbolisms of our Philippine Flag.
4. Identify and explain the meaning of the different road safety
regulations and traffic signs.
5. Identify and explain the different Leadership positions for Boys within
your Patrol and for the Adults within your Troop.
6. Demonstrate and explain to a fellow Scout or a friend the appropriate
conduct and table manners during meal time.
7. Together with your Patrol or Troop, coordinate and adopt a small space
in your school or community for an ideal Plant Propagation and
Seedlings Nursery.
8. Together with your Patrol members, plan, organize and conduct the
“Scout’s Good Turn" habit through a School or Community Service
Project for at least eight (8) hours and have it uploaded in your
scout.org profile and earn your Messengers of Peace (MoP) Ring Badge
for your Type A Scout Uniform. These service projects may either be
related to Environment, Development and Peace.
9. WSEP Aim 1: Explore and Reflect: People and Natural Systems have
clean water and clean air. Explore the sources of clean water and clean
air in your local environment. Identify the different threats to clean
water and clean air in the local and global environment and be able to
suggest solutions to these identified threats.
10. Accomplish the requirements and earn the following Merit
Badges:
a. Safety
b. Citizenship
c. Filipino Heritage
11. Must have successfully passed the Board of Review for
Tenderfoot Scout Rank.
Second Class Scout Rank
The Second Class Scout Rank aims to offer more challenging activities
related to Personal Health, Physical Fitness and Environment which promotes
active and healthy lifestyle among Boy Scouts including Environment
Education and the WSEP Aim No. 2. It is the second Scout rank of the Boy
Scout Section that further strengthens Scout Ideals and Citizenship training
among Boys.
1. Narrate anecdotes or stories depicting the Scout Oath and Law, the
Scout Motto, and the Boy Scout Slogan.
2. Actively participate and receive religious instructions from your
church/parish in observance and fulfillment of your religious services.
3. Be familiar with the historical background and significance of the
Evolution of the Philippine Flag.
4. Demonstrate how to properly hoist, lower, display, fold, and show
respect for the Philippine Flag pursuant to the Flag Code of the
Philippines.
5. Identify the important Patrol and Troop traditions and practices that
you have to observe and follow at all times.
6. Explain the duties and responsibilities of the different Boy Leaders and
Adult Leaders your Patrol and in your Troop.
7. Explain how to take care of the properties of the Patrol and the Troop
with your fellow Scouts.
8. Do some basic repairs in your home and school to the satisfaction of
your parents, guardians and teachers.
9. A Scout is Thrifty, earn at least the equivalent of one-half day's wage
based within your locality to pay for your Scout activity fees and/or
membership dues to your Patrol/Troop.
10. Discuss with your Troop Leader, the proper and courteous way of
communicating with your peers and the elderly during formal and
informal occasions.
11. Together with your Patrol members, plan, organize and conduct
"Scout's Good Turn" habit through a School or Community Service
Project for at least sixteen (16) hours and have it uploaded in your
scout.org profile. These service projects may either be related to
Environment, Development and Peace.
12. WSEP Aim No. 2: Explore and Reflect: Explore a local natural
area. Sufficient natural habitat exist to support native species. Explore
a local natural area. Understand the ecosystem connections of native
species of plants and animals and their habitat needs. Be aware of
global conservation issues affecting biodiversity.
13. Earn the following Merit Badges:
a. Personal Health
b. Physical Fitness
c. Environment
14. Must have successfully passed the Board of Review for Second
Class Scout Rank.
First Class Scout Rank
The First Class Scout Rank aims to provide knowledge and skills in the
Outdoors like Campcraft and Woodcraft such as Ropework, Cooking and First
Aid. It is the third Scout rank of the Boy Scout Section that offers more
Community Service projects and completing the WSEP Aim No. 3
requirement.
1. Cite experiences wherein you were able to live up the Scout Oath and
Law, the Scout Motto, and the Boy Scout Slogan.
2. Produce satisfactory evidence that you have been faithful to your
religious obligations in your church or parish.
3. Lead in at least one flag-raising and one flag-lowering ceremony in
your school/institution.
4. Identify your Troop Committee members and Institutional Leaders and
explain what they do to help the Patrol and the Troop in your Scout
Advancement.
5. Earn or save at least the equivalent of two-day's minimum wage based
within your locality and be able to open your savings account in your
preferred bank.
6. During your Patrol or Troop Meeting, describe or demonstrate how you
will show respect and courtesy for the rights and property of others.
7. Together with your Patrol members, plan, organize and conduct
"Scout's Good Turn" habit through a School or Community Service
Project for at least sixteen (16) hours and have it uploaded in your
scout.org profile. These service projects may either be related to
Environment, Development and Peace.
8. Successfully plant and grow at least three (3) trees within your
backyard, school garden or a park in your community.
9. Must actively participate and successfully passed the Patrol Leader's
Training Course with at least a rating of "Very Satisfactory" in the over-
all performance.
10. WSEP Aim No. 3: Explore and Reflect: The risk of harmful
substances to people and the environment are minimized. Be aware of
harmful substances in the local environment and identify their source.
Demonstrate what personal action can be taken to reduce the risk of
harmful substances to people and the broader environment.
11. Earn the following Merit Badges:
a. Cooking
b. First Aid
c. Ropework
12. Must have successfully passed the Board of Review for First Class
Scout Rank.
Membership Badge
1. Sing the Philippine National Anthem - Lupang Hinirang and recite the
Panunumpa ng Katapatan sa Watawat and the Panatang Makabayan.
2. Recite the Scout Oath and Law, Scout Motto, and Boy Scout Slogan.
3. Demonstrate how to execute the Scout Sign, the Scout Salute, and the
Scout Handshake.
4. Describe the meaning of the Scout Badge.
5. Earn and save enough money to pay for your registration fee.
6. Appear before your Troop in an investiture ceremony and commit
yourself to the Scout Oath and Law.
7. Get online, register and create your personal profile
at www.scout.org and learn more about the Messengers of Peace (MoP)
Initiatives. Participate in any school or community service activity for at
least eight (8) hours and have it uploaded in your scout.org profile and
share it in all of your social media accounts.
