Title: Two Unarmed Brothers Killed in Nablus

Early Tuesday morning, the peaceful streets of Nablus, a city in the occupied West
Bank, became a place of deep sorrow. Two Palestinian brothers, Nidal and Khaled
Umairah, were shot and killed by Israeli soldiers during a military raid. Both men
were unarmed.

Nidal, 40, was seen calmly walking toward the soldiers. He wore a red cap and carried
no weapon. Witnesses say he was trying to speak with the soldiers—perhaps to calm
things down or to get help. But instead of listening, the soldiers kicked and pushed
him. His younger brother, Khaled, 35, rushed to help him. Moments later, both were
shot dead.

Locals say the soldiers used extreme and unnecessary force. Ghassan Hamdan, from
the Palestinian Medical Relief Society, said 12 soldiers opened fire on the brothers at
once. When medics tried to treat the wounded men, the soldiers fired at them too.

“We had to hide behind the walls,” Hamdan said.

Hamza Abu Hajar, a paramedic, said Nidal had simply wanted to reach his house to
move his family away from the violence. The soldiers lifted his shirt to check for
weapons—he had none. Yet they still opened fire.

This is not an isolated case. Unarmed Palestinians continue to be killed in similar

raids. The deaths of Nidal and Khaled are part of a much larger and heartbreaking
reality.

They were not fighters.

They were not a threat.
They were brothers—just trying to protect their family.

Where are the peacekeepers?

Where are the so-called human rights organizations?

I demand a complete ceasefire, and I urge the American people to protest outside
the White House until Palestinians get justice. As we all know, the U.S. is backing
Israel’s genocide.

We must not forget their names:

Nidal and Khaled Umairah
