Lube and Jacking Oil System:-

The lube oil system supplies oil to the compressor bearing MBD12 and the turbine
bearing MBD11 of the gas turbine, as well as to the generator bearings MKD11 and
MKD12. In doing so, the lube oil supply system performs several tasks: on the one hand
it forms an oil film in the bearings that separates the rotating shafts from the bearing
shells and thus minimizes friction; on the other hand the flow of lube oil removes heat
from the bearings. In addition, oil flushes wear debris and solid contaminants out of the
bearings; such matter is removed by filtration at another location in the lube oil system.

Main Components:-
1)- Oil tank (MBV10BB001):- functions both as a collecting and supply tank.

2)- Two oil vapor extractors (MBV50AN001 and MBV50AN002):- is mounted on


the lube oil tank. It extracts oil vapor from the tank, at the same time producing a
slightly sub atmospheric pressure in the tank and the return lines of the entire lube
oil system.

3)- Main lube oil pump (MBV21AP001):- supplies the bearings with oil during
normal operation.

4)- Auxiliary lube oil pump( MBV21AP002) :- design identical to that of the main
lube oil pump.

5)- Emergency lube oil pump (MBV21AP003):- The emergency lube oil pump is
driven by a DC motor.

6)- Jacking oil pump( MBV30AP001) :- draws lube oil from the oil tank and boosts
its pressure to about 160bar

7)- Lube Oil Filters:- The flow of cooled lube oil is fed through filter MBV25AT001 or
MBV25AT002. Pressure drop across the filter is monitored by differential pressure
switch MBV25CP001.

8)- Lube Oil Coolers.

9)- Lube Oil Heating during Standstills

Some set point and Alarm:-


1)- The lube oil tank level is low. Level switch 31/32MBV10 CL001Q has responded

2)- The lube oil tank level is too low. Level switch 31/32MBV10 CL001R has
responded. Gas turbine has tripped and the gas turbine start-up is not released.
3)- The temperature at the lube oil tank is not > min 3 (10 °C). If both signals
31/32MBV10 CT101A/B ZV54 are present, gas turbine start-up is not possible

4)- The lube oil pump 1 (31/32MBV21 AP001) has a fault. Either the lube oil
pressure 31/32MBV21 CP001 is < MIN or the bearing oil pressure 31/32MBV26
CP101 is < MIN1 though the lube oil pump 1 (31/32MBV21 AP001) has been
switched on for 10 seconds. Consequences The lube oil pump 2 (31/32MBV21
AP002) and the emergency lube oil pump (31/32MBV21 AP003) have been
switched on by a protection command.
