The Devil�s Own Luck Charm

Ingredients and Supplies:

Black salt: minimum 1 lb

Bayberry essence oil: min 1 dram

Gold flakes: bottled in mineral oil is best.

(You�ll want a minimum total 3 drams oil including bayberry above)

(Extra mineral oil if necessary, read through the spell to judge for yourself)

High John root: 1 tsp fine chopped

Dragon�s Blood incense

Seal of Mephistopheles (for pendant)

Black Tourmaline (pendant)

Wide-mouthed glass jar, one-ounce size minimum

(you need the oil to cover both pendants and High John in the jar)

Smaller glass bottle, needs to fit inside black bag (below) with pendants and extra
room

for packing clover

Black drawstring bag, about the size of a card deck, protection symbol advisable

Red Clover, dried: 10 ounces

A drop of your own blood (don�t be a dummy, sterilize your tools)

You will also need a cord or silver chain to wear the pendants against your skin.
NOTE: THIS SPELL IS GOOD FOR 12 HOURS MAXIMUM. PROPER DISPOSAL REQUIRED, SEE BELOW.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

Follow specific instruction to the letter. This is not a spell to be messed with
and requires focus and attention to timing. Make your plans IN ADVANCE.

MOON PHASE: All 3 days surrounding moon dark. Prepare the pendants as instructed
below before moonrise on the 1st day.

(A Saturn correspondence is preferable, but not necessary. Avoid Jupiter.)

SELF PREPARATION:

I recommend a good shower or bath to release the negativity of the day before
embarking on any ritual. In this instance, Sandalwood soap would be ideal.

For assembling the spell, give yourself at least a half hour of absolute
concentration time. In preparation, do whatever you need to do to achieve a state
of calm. Some meditate. Some plug into BOC. Whatever helps you be calm and focused,
DO IT.

As with any spell, intention is KEY. Find an image in your memories of a moment
when you felt extremely lucky: When you got a wonderful present, or landed a great
job, kissed your crush, whatever that moment is. Before beginning the spell, focus
on that moment with all your concentration, summon that feeling of luck and
everything going right, and keep that image bright during the working. Whenever
your concentration falters, focus on that image and re-summon the feeling attached.

RITUAL SPACE:

Peace, quiet, and no interruptions are KEY. You will also need to clean up if you
are indoors, so keep that in mind. Working on an Altar is fine, as long as it is
within the circle, as always. Working outdoors, you will want a level space to
assemble ingredients.

At the end of the preparation of the charm, you will need to place it in the
�light� of the dark moon for 3 days, as soon as the jar is sealed if at all
possible. Keep this in mind. If it will take time to get from your ritual space to
where you can leave the jar for the moon, reserve the drop of blood from step (11)
below and add it at the last moment before leaving the jar, still using the spoken
charm and instructions.

CLEANSING AND CONSECRATING

Any magickal practitioner with experience knows this without saying. At a minimum,
consecrate the items, asking whatever form of Spirit you work with to banish anyone
else�s intentions from the items and bless them, binding them to YOUR use and no
other. And please remember to thank Spirit for its presence and these items.

RITUAL:

Make sure you have EVERYTHING YOU NEED in the space you are going to work in, right
in front of you, within arm�s reach. Go over the steps several times in your mind,
visualizing each, and make sure you have EVERYTHING.
Mix the black salt with � the clover. Surround the space you are working in with a
circle of the salt/clover mix. When you finish the circle, CLOSING YOURSELF WITHIN
IT, summon the guardians of north, south, east and west to GUARD the circle from
the OUTSIDE. Do not invite them IN.
At the center of the circle, summon SPIRIT in whatever form you wish. I strongly
suggest a masculine form if you are all comfortable working with that.
Ground and center, filling the space inside the circle with your focus and
intentions.
Settle with your items, facing SOUTH-EAST. If using an altar, it should be in this
position. If your altar is immovably in the north your ritual area, add some extra
air and fire elements to it to balance the ritual.
Light the dragon�s blood incense and carry it around the circle clockwise to
consecrate the space. Keep it smoking! You may want to say something like, �In this
time and in this place, I consecrate this sacred space.� Set the incense down where
you will be working. It needs to keep burning throughout the ritual, so make sure
you have enough.
Hold the empty jar upside-down over the incense smoke so that the smoke fills the
jar. Imagine the power of the earth and fire being captured in that jar. When it
seems filled, put the cap on loosely to �hold the energy in.� You will be removing
the cap and replacing it several times. Try to do that quickly.
Hold the gold foil in its bottle in front of you, imagine the glitter and wealth of
it being yours to command. Think of it as FLOWING to serve your needs as it moves
in the suspension. Empty the gold foil and oil into the jar, using the incantation
of, �This to my use and Your service, to bring a charm of luck in my hours of
need.�
Hold the essential oil, imagining the scent of it carrying to the minds and hearts
of those who will aid you in achieving your luck. Add the essential oil to the mix,
again with the charm, �This to my use and Your service, to bring a charm of luck in
my hours of need.�
The High John root is an extra �boost� of Spirit made physical. Hold it in your
hands, see it as a concentration of that energy, add it to the oils and gold with
the same spoken charm.
Add a drop of your own blood (some prefer other bodily fluids, it�s really your
call, but the minor self-sacrifice of blood works best for most). Switch the charm
to �A part of myself to Your service, to help me create a charm of luck for my
hours of need.�
Hold the tourmaline pendant in your right hand, the seal of Mephistopheles in your
left. (Reverse if you�re left-handed.) Imagine the power of the seal flowing
through you, energizing you, and any negative influence of it being drained by the
tourmaline. For many, imagining yourself as a connection and the tourmaline as a
�ground� works well.
Holding the two items, summon that image of luck to mind. Visualize the moment,
then focus on the FEELING. Fill yourself with that feeling as you slowly bring the
seal and tourmaline together, imagining them as opposing forces connecting to
release a burst of energy and then settling but still empowered. Thread both onto
the SAME cord or chain. Focus your attention on the ingredients in the jar as you
lower the necklace in, saying WITH ALL INTENTION, �All these things to Thee, all
the luck to me, in the time and place of my choosing.�
Drop the necklace in the jar, seal it, make sure the necklace is covered, adding
extra oil if necessary. Tap the lid 3 times to �finish� the seal. IF YOU CAN DO
THIS RITUAL OUTDOORS AND SIMPLY LEAVE THE JAR FOR THE MOON EXACTLY WHERE YOU
ASSEMBLE IT, THAT IS GREAT. IF NOT, DO NOT ADD THE BLOOD UNTIL YOU ARE ABOUT TO
LEAVE THE JAR FOR THE MOON. PLACE THE JAR IN THE BLACK BAG FOR NOW TO PROTECT IT
AGAINST OUTSIDE INFLUENCES.
Thank and dismiss Spirit and the guardians. Open your circle. If you are indoors,
sweep up the salt (or use your sacred Dustbuster) and dispose of it out of the
house. Remember that salt can be bad for tender plants.
In the spot where you plan to leave the jar, scatter a pinch of black salt for the
jar to sit on. Take the jar out of the bag if it was in there. (if you have
reserved the blood drop in (11) above, now is the time to add it, using the spoken
charm.) Place the jar where will it receive the �light� of the dark of the moon for
the day before moon dark, moon dark, and first crescent. As soon as the crescent
sets on the third day, retrieve the pendant from the mixture. Strain the oil into
the small bottle and seal it tight. Fill the drawstring bag with the excess clover
and place the small bottle of oil and the necklace together in the bag, �rolling in
the clover.� Draw the string tight, �locking in the luck� with a knot. Don�t even
look inside until it is time to use the charm.
Dispose of the strained-out herbs and gold ENTIRELY. Return them to the earth in
the most natural way you can. Thank them and Spirit for their service. (Don�t just
flush them down the toilet.)

CHARM USE AND DISPOSAL

When you need �the luck of the devil,� wear the necklace so that the pendant and
seal are against your skin. It takes a few hours to reach full potency, and your
luck will begin to diminish noticeably after 8 hours, so don�t push it.

When the day of luck is done, 12 hours MAX, take the seal of Mephistopheles off the
chain. Take it someplace lonely and quiet, whisper a heartfelt thank-you, then
either bury it with your bare hands or drop it gently into running water deep
enough that it won�t be found.

TURN AND WALK AWAY. DO NOT LOOK BACK.

You can keep the tourmaline pendant, the stone itself helps diminish negativity in
small ways. The leftover oil can be used to anoint a candle for a minor luck or
prosperity spell. Waste not, want not.
