WTM SERIES ON DANIEL 10-12
INTRODUCTION
You are welcome to Insights from God's Word, a Bible Study Programme that is committed to
sharing God's Word by allowing the Bible to speak for itself.
Friends, we greet you in the name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
In this study, we bring you the introduction to our series on Daniel 10-12. The passages of
Daniel chapters 10-12 belong together, and form the epilogue of the book of Daniel. The three
passages represent the most detailed prophecy in the entire Bible, reaching down from Daniel's
day to the end of time. In this final part of the book of Daniel, we continue to see the repeat and
enlarge principle which runs through the earlier prophecies in the book. In this segment of Daniel
10-12, the final bits and pieces that were not supplied in the earlier prophecies of the book are
provided in detail. Thus, the Bible student will be able to appreciate better and comprehend the
final chapters of Daniel if he or she has a good foundation in the earlier prophecies, especially
those outlined in chapters 2, 7, 8 and 9. This background in the earlier portions of the book is
what opens up the intricate details of chapters 10-12 in amazing ways.
The book of Daniel portrays important pictures of the great controversy battle between Christ
and Satan. In the epilogue, we find constant conflict between the forces of good and the forces of
evil. The effect of these conflicts is felt by God's people, and also the secular nations around
them. It is encouraging to learn that in the various warfare we read about in Daniel 10-12, we
find Christ always showing up to help His people in various ways. He is revealed as the man
clothed in linen in chapters 10 and 12, the prince of the covenant in chapter 11, and Michael in
chapters 10 and 12. These pictures of Christ in the epilogue of the book serve to encourage the
people of God that they can still rely on the promise Jesus gave to His disciples that "I am with
you alway, even unto the end of the world" (Matthew 28:20).
Friends, in as much as this series will outline various prophetic expositions on the passages of
Daniel 10-12, it is the focus of this work that readers will fall in love with Jesus, the One who is
1
the main subject of the book. The entire series is dubbed: When Kings Go to War: An Exposition
