Tanu Jubbal- Narkanda Area. Near Thanedar

Karali lake- Opposite of Shali Tibba, Similiar to the
size of Annadale Ground.

Lakes of Sirmaur District
Renuka Lake
Location: Sirmaur district, Himachal Pradesh,
near Nahan town.
Altitude: Around 672 meters (2,205 feet).
Size: Largest natural lake in Himachal Pradesh.
Shape: The lake is shaped like a sleeping
woman, said to represent goddess Renuka.
Declared as a Ramsar Wetland Site (wetland of
international importance) in 2005.
Associated with the legend of Goddess Renuka
(mother of Lord Parshuram, an incarnation of
Vishnu).

Lakes of Sirmaur District
Suketi lake
Location: Near Kala Amb, in Sirmaur
district, Himachal Pradesh.
Type: Man-made (artificial) lake, built for
water conservation and tourism.
Proximity: Located near the Suketi Fossil &
Park, and close to the Haryana border.
Located close to Suketi Fossil Park (Asia’s
first fossil park at the actual site of fossil
discovery).

Nako Lake
Location: Kinnaur district, Himachal Pradesh, in
the village of Nako. Hangrang valley.
Altitude: Around 3,662 meters (12,010 feet)
Region: Located in the Trans-Himalayan zone,
Close to the ancient Nako Monastery, believed to
be from the 11th century.

The lake is considered sacred by locals and
connected to Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche).
According to legend, footprints of
Padmasambhava are found near the lake.
It is a site of Buddhist pilgrimages and Lama
traditions
