BLOOD DONATION
Description
Blood donation is when a person gives their blood to help someone in need, like patients during
surgery, accidents, or those with diseases like anemia. As a 2nd-year nursing student, I learned
that the process is simple. First, you get checked if you’re healthy enough to donate, and then
you sit or lie down while a small amount of blood is taken, usually from your arm.
Importance
Blood donation is very important because hospitals always need a supply of blood for
emergencies and treatments. It’s something only humans can provide, so without donors, patients
might not survive. It’s also a way to help others directly, which makes it very meaningful.
Benefits
For the donor, giving blood can feel rewarding because you know you’re saving lives. It also
helps in detecting some health problems during the screening, like low iron levels. I heard from
my professor that some say donating blood might help the body make new blood cells faster,
though it’s not the main reason to do it.
Negative Effects
Blood donation isn’t perfect. Some people feel dizzy or weak after donating, especially if they
didn’t eat well before. A small bruise or soreness might happen where the needle was, but it
usually goes away fast. Serious problems are rare but can happen if the person donating isn’t
honest about their health
Conclusion
Blood donation is a simple but powerful way to help others. As a nursing student, I see how
much patients need it, and I hope more people will give. Even with a few risks, the benefits for
both donors and recipients are worth it. It’s one of the easiest ways to make a big difference

The relationship of society, technology and science

- The three of them are connection and influences each other. Science focuses on
understanding the natural world through research and experiments. While technology
applies scientific knowledge to create tools and solutions that improve daily life. And
Society uses and shapes both science and technology based on its values, needs, and
challenges. However, this relationship isn’t always smooth. Sometimes, technology
outpaces society’s ability to adapt, like with privacy concerns from social media or the
ethical debates surrounding genetic engineering. Similarly, science and technology can be
influenced by societal issues like inequality, as access to new advancements isn’t always
fair.
