Background
After the war there are many sectors developed in a quick time but there
are some certain issues faced by Grass root level community. After the war
there is no proper process for reconciliation with grass root level
community and nobody didn’t identify about the problems face by the
community. There are many people still live in society who badly affect by
the war and there is no rehabilitation program for them and those
communities still live in North and South also. Sill Sinhalese and Tamils
looking each other in a different eye and the people actually don’t know
about the actual situation in other parts,
Most of Sinhalese don’t know about the actual situation that face by Tamil
and the problems face by Tamil and there is a community based process to
be implemented in a wide spread way. Inter communities exchanges
programs are really necessary in this time and time to time some politicians
try to make some problems between Sinhalese and Tamils. Reconciliation
between Sinhalese and Tamil people is getting down day by day. Need to
develop community platform to share ideas and experience within
themselves. It is very necessary to have this kind of program in Sri Lanka.
Also it will support to develop ethnic.
Introduction
New World Life Organization is a non-government organization that
registered under social welfare act of the Sri Lanka. The organization
implemented many programs with many donor agencies since many years
ago. With partnership of donor organizations implemented Reconciliation
programs among nations, Human Rights, Child Protection, Peace &
Harmony building program and many programs implemented. The
organization has more experience regarding the field. This program base to
develop the harmony and reconciliation between nations. Also expects to
develop community platform to share ideas culture diversity. Through this
project expects to celebrate many national festivals with involvement of all
nations. Also conduct many programs to aware the community to learn
about other cultures and their values.
Not even that through this program expect to bring communities from north
to south and south to north. Also we support people to stay in a home of
other nationalities and study their culture diversity and develop harmony.
Not even that expect to support for their products to sell around the
country. On the other hand this program also support to grass root level
communities income. Conduct many awareness programs are one of main
theme for the project and through it able to develop harmony and peace
among nations. Implementing this kind of program is really essential in Sri
Lanka due to many bad incident happen recently. This program
effectiveness is very high with good results.

Activities
1. Meeting with relevant stakeholders regarding project to explain the
project and its goal
2. Organize awareness program for the all religious leaders regarding
conflict mitigation and reconciliation.
3. Organize national festivals with participation of all religious people
like Poson, X-mass, Pongal, Haji festival. (People to people)
4. Road show program in evening to aware community regarding
conflict mitigation.
5. Community exchange program between Galle and North part of
country to share the experience
6. Host family exchange program between project areas 100 host
families in entire time People to people
7. Radio program with broadcast Grass root level community ideas
regarding conflict mitigation.
8. Art completion among 1000 school children regarding Reconciliation
9. Youth clubs short film competition regarding Reconciliation and final
selected film shown in 100 villages
10. Form 1000 grass root level community leaders through Small
group process
11. Conduct exchange problem between north and south community
leaders
12. Conduct market research to identify regarding market
opportunities
13. Establish three marketing centres in Galle, Jaffna and Trinco to
exchange the goods of the area
14. Establish social responsible fund with participation of private
sector and donors to provide scholarships for the low income
students of project area.
15. Form children societies in project areas and appoint brother and
sister relatives in north and south
16. Conduct program to share lesson and learnt of the project
17. Publish Community voice video with consist with community
ideas
Implementation
The project implemented in a wide spread way, the first step of the project
is to conduct a meeting for the all related stakeholders and media regarding
the project because need to get the attention for the project. The second
expect to conduct meeting for religious leaders because they are key person
to change the attitude of the society. We have planned to aware religious
leaders regarding project and goal and the important of reconciliation to
the society.
Celebrating festivals with participation of all religious people is very
essential because the people don’t have a proper knowledge about other
religious and through that we can decrease that and increase the
interrelationship between nation and that is one of key step for
reconciliation. Road show program is one of very success tool. Through that
we can give a strong idea to the community. The organization has planned
to conduct the program in a wide spread way because need to cover the
many sector and this is an integrated approach program with many steak
holders.
