🍝 Long Recipe – Homemade Lasagna
Ingredients:
For the meat sauce:
● 500g beef mince
● 1 onion, chopped
● 2 garlic cloves, minced
● 1 can crushed tomatoes (400g)
● 2 tbsp tomato paste
● 1 tsp dried oregano
● 1 tsp dried basil
● Salt & pepper to taste
● 1 tbsp olive oil
For the béchamel sauce:
● 2 tbsp butter
● 2 tbsp flour
● 2 cups milk
● Salt, pepper, pinch of nutmeg
● ½ cup grated cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
Other:
● Lasagna pasta sheets (fresh or dried)
● Extra cheese for topping
Instructions:
1. Make the meat sauce:
○ Heat oil in a pan, cook onion and garlic until soft.
○ Add mince and cook until browned.
○ Stir in tomato paste, tomatoes, herbs, salt and pepper.
○ Simmer on low heat for 20–30 minutes.
2. Make the béchamel:
○ In a pot, melt butter. Add flour and stir for 1 minute.
○ Gradually whisk in milk.
○ Stir until thick.
○ Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
○ Stir in cheese and remove from heat.
3. Assemble the lasagna:
○ In a baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce.
○ Add pasta sheets.
○ Add a layer of béchamel.
○ Repeat layers: meat → pasta → béchamel (2-3 layers).
○ Top with remaining béchamel and extra cheese.
4. Bake:
○ Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
○ Bake for 35–40 minutes or until golden and bubbling.
○ Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.
