In the present era, some individuals believe that it is not essential to provide
children with the skill of handwriting. In my opinion, I totally disagree with this
statement because of some reasons which will be discussed in this essay.
Firstly, handwriting is a basic skill to boost faster cognitive development of
children. In fact, it helps children engage in a multi sensory experience including
the combination of hand movements, visual perception. Handwriting also helps
enhance the ability to recognize letters, understands phonics and develop literacy
skills. For example, in Vietnam children are taught how to write by hand in primary
school before learning other scientific subjects. This helps children to
participate actively in the learning process and support their memory recall
