“Pursuant to the recently issued OUOPS Memorandum No. 2023-
03- and in accordance with the guidelines od DepEd Order (DO)
No. 47 s. 2014 titled “Constitution and By-Laws of the Supreme
Pupil Government and Supreme Student Government in Elementary
and Secondary Schools”, the Division hereby directs the field to
conduct the synchronized elections of the Officers of the Supreme
Elementary Learner Government (SELG) formerly known as
Supreme Pupil Government (SPG) and the Supreme Secondary
Learner Government (SSLG) also formerly known as Supreme
Student Government (SSG) in their respective schools for SY 2023-
2024 based on the timeline shown below, Thereafter, it is also
recommended that only federations of the said SELG and SSLG be
established in your respective Districts to prepare for the Division-
level federations.”
The following were the activities for a week to select the SELG
officers.

On the 13th day of February, the pupils from Grade 4 and 5 filed their
candidacy. Right after that day, evaluation of Certificate of
Candidacy (COC vis-à-vis qualifications and disqualifications was
conducted. the The official list of candidates was announced on 17 th
day of February. On the same day, the two parties were gathered for
a meeting with the SELG adviser. They had their brief forum and
discussion about the upcoming campaign. The campaign rally was
held on February 20, 2025, at Tahud ES Gym, Tahud, Inopacan,
Leyte. Each group prepared a dance presentation for grade 2 to grade
5 learners, and school personnel. Right after, they laid out their
platforms and intentions. The campaign rally ran smoothly. They
were able to convey their motives of running for their respective
positions. The election day came. It happened on February 20, 2025,
after the campaign. The learners from grade 2 to grade 5 cast votes.
The activity was successfully conducted. Then on the 2 nd day of
February, the winners were proclaimed and oathtaking ceremony
during 3rd Portfolio Day. The audience welcomed the new set of
officers by clapping their hands.

regarding their right, welfare, and needs.

problem-solving, capabilities, skills, decision-making
especially in building the nation.
Motivate students to pursue academic excellence, leadership,
teamwork, and social responsibility.
To uphold the values, principles, and ideals of the Department
of Education.
To serve, to protect, and to promote the rights and welfare of
every student.
PARTICIPANT’S FEEDBACK Ninety percent of the students actively participated in the
activities.
Most of the learners enjoyed and learned regarding the
election/
Most of them realized that it was important to accept defeat.
The importance of the activities was to achieve the objectives.
