1. You have provided with potassium permanganate crystal, spatula, water,
stirring a glass rod, stop watch and beaker, measuring cylinder. Use the
procedures provided to carry out on experiment then answer the questions
that follows

PROCEDURES
i. Put 200m/s of water in a clean beaker and leave it for sometimes and
water settle completely
ii. Add few potassium permanganate crystals into the beaker containing water
iii. Leave the mixture completely undisturbed for 10 minutes. Observe
and record what happens

QUESTIONS
a) What was the aim of the experiment?
b) What happens when potassium permanganate crystals are added to
water?
c) Explain why the changes observed occurred
d) Does the movement of particles depend on the presence of an
external forces like string? Why or why not?
e) (i) Name the physiological process investigated in this experiment
(ii) Define the process named at (e) (i) above
(iii) Identify any four factors affecting the rate of the named
physiological process
f) Mention any four applications of the physiological process
identified in this experiment for both plants and animals
g) Draw a diagram to show this physiological process

2. You have been provided with specimen P,Q,R,S,T and U. Examine them
carefully, then answer the question that follows
a) (i) Identify the specimen P,Q,R,S, Tand U by their common names
(ii) Classify the specimen R,S,T and U to class level
b) (i) Write any two observable difference between specimen S and T
(ii) State two diseases caused by the organism from the kingdom
in which specimen Q belong.
c) (i) What are the adaptation of specimen Q,P in its modes of life (three
points)
(ii) Identify two other example of specimen which can be placed in
the same class with specimen U
d) Draw and label diagram of Q, S and P
