Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver White, Caron Simply Soft Gold
Hook: 3.5mm
• If you are unused to making amigurumi, I suggest making a test piece to
stuff. This way you will be able to tell if you need to go down a hook size to
minimize hole size in the work.
• DMR = Double Magic Ring, I use a double magic ring as it feels more
secure.
• Stuff the head and body tightly but leave the neck space only moderately
stuffed.
• inc. = increase stitch count by making 2 single crochet in the same stitch
• InvDec = Invisible Decrease--Insert hook into Front Loop Only of next 2
sts.[3 loops on hook], pull loop through 2 loops, yarn over pull through last
2 loops.
HEAD & BODY:
1: DMR, sc. 4 into ring, tighten ring (4)
2: inc. each st. around (8)
3: *sc., inc.* x4 (12)
4: *sc., sc., inc.* x4 (16)
5: *sc., sc., sc., inc.* x4 (20)
6-8: sc. all
9: *InvDec., sc., sc., sc.* x4 (16)
10: *InvDec., sc., sc.* x4 (12)
• At this point you will want to partially stuff the head.
11: *InvDec., sc., sc.* x4 (8)
12: *inc., sc.* x4 (12)
13: *inc., sc., sc.* (16)
14-16: sc. all
• Complete stuffing the head and partially stuff the body.
17: *InvDec., sc., sc.* x4 (12)
18: *InvDec., sc.* x4 (8)
• Finish stuffing body
• Cut a long tail (I leave 4 or 5 inches), draw through last loop made, pull
tight, thread tail on tapestry needle, weave tail through last 8 sts., pull to
close body.
• To Secure tail poke needle through the body and pull yarn through several
times, going back through same hole so you aren’t making outside stitches.
This is how the main piece will look. It can really be turned into any
animal/alien/monster you like.

➢ The beginning tails and color change tails can be brought into the piece for
stuffing. Fill out pieces with stuffing.
➢ The long tails on all pieces will be used to attach pieces to the body. Leaving
enough to weave through the body to secure after attaching.
Arms:
1: Gold Yarn-DMR, sc. 6 into ring, tighten ring (6)
2: sc. around (6)
<add white yarn at the last pull through of the last sc.>
3: sc. around x2 (6)
• cut a long tail and pull through the last loop.
• Attach arms directly opposite each other, on either side of the body, at the
neck space.
Legs:
1: Gold yarn-DMR, sc. 8 into ring, tighten ring (8)
2: sc. around (8)
<add white yarn at the last pull through of the last sc.>
3: sc. around x2 (8)
• cut a long tail and pull through the last loop.
• Attach legs slightly forward of arm positions. If you want it to sit on its own,
legs need to be attached so they stick out of the belly area. Mine do not sit
independently.
Nose:
1: DMR, sc. 6 into ring, tighten ring
2: *sc., sc., inc.* x2 (8)
3: *sc., sc., sc., inc.* x2 (10)
4: sc. around (10), turn inside out.
• cut a long tail and pull through the last loop.
• Attach bottom of nose into the second row from neck

• Thread a generous length of gold yarn onto a tapestry needle, push through
head and out through the end of the nose.
• Use gold yarn to make a small stitch on each side of DMR. Pass over 2 or 3
times before moving on to other nostril.
Horn:
ch. 6, sl. st. in second chain from hook, sc. around the ch. to last ch., sc. 3 in last
ch.
• Cut a long tail and pull through the last loop on hook.
• Attach horn in the middle of the head, just before the ears, with sc. bumps
facing forward.
• The 3 sc. are to be attached first, fold top of horn down to meet the base.
Run length of yarn through horn to stitch it up into one piece.

Ears:
• Work in back bumps of chain.
ch. 5
sc. into second ch. from hook
sc. into 3rd ch.
hdc. Into 4th ch.
dc.-sl. st.-turn to go up other side of ch.-hdc. in last ch.
sc. into 4th ch.
sc. into 3rd ch.
sl. st. to first sc. made
• Leave a long tail, pull through last loop on the hook and weave down edge
of ear.
• Attach ears on top of head, directly in line with arms, leaving 3 st. spaces
between them.
Eyes:
• Thread a generous length of yarn onto a tapestry needle, Enter needle
through the back of the head for security. Bring yarn out in the space where
you will be making the eye.
• Slant yarn across one bar and stitch in this space 2 or 3 times (your
preference). Make sure to go from nose toward ear(upward).
• Push needle through head to position of the other eye, repeat process
making sure to slant eye upward. Weave end through head to secure, cut
off extra.

• New Eye Color: Thread a generous length of new color onto a tapestry
needle, enter needle through the back of head, bring out at the bottom
edge of eye dot, re-enter at top of eye, bring back out at the other bottom
edge of eye dot and back in at the top of eye. Essentially outlining the outer
two-thirds of the eye.
Mane & Tail
• Choose 3 colors
• Cut 2, 12-inch lengths from each color (6 lengths), cut in half
• Separate the twists so you have four small strings of that color
• Cut those in half. (24 3-inch pieces)
• Pick 6 pieces of variable colors, twist together.
• Insert hook under and through a stitch 2 spaces behind horn, pull twisted
loop under st., pull both loose ends over st. and through loop. Repeat 5
times in a line down the back of head. Repeat 3 times at the base of body in
the middle. Trim to a length you like
