Project Overview
➢The project uses the simple concept of Ohms law
where a low DC voltage is applied at the feeder end
through a series resistor.
➢The current would very depending upon the
length of fault of the cable In case there is a
short circuit of LL or LG etc.
➢The project is assembled with a set of
resistor representing cable length in
KMs and fault creation is made by a
set of Switches at every known KM to
cross check the accuracy of the same.
➢ Many times fault occur due to construction works and other reasons.
➢ Cable have some resistance we are mainly focusing that resistance.
Resistance can vary with respect to the length of the cable.
➢ If the length of the cable is increase ,the value of the resistance will
also increase.

Open Circuit Fault
✓ When there is a break in the conductor of a cable it is called
open circuit fault
Short Circuit Fault
✓ When two conductor of a multi core cable come in circuit
contact with each other due to insulation failure , it is also called
as short circuit faut
Earth Fault
✓ When the conductors of a cable comes in contact with earth.
Hardware Description
The Arduino Uno board can
be built with power pins,
analog pins, ATmegs328,
ICSP header, Reset
button, power LED, digital pins,
test led 13, TX/RX pins, USB
interface, an external power
supply. The Arduino UNO
