➢ What is it
AASTU ARCH CLUB is an organization that holds Architects and
Architecture students together as a one community to create a more
interactive, solution seeker, enthusiastic and responsible architects

➢ Who does it involve?
The ARCH CLUB is inclusive of all the AASTU Architecture students as
a member and other non architectural students who want to be a
member can be registered under associate members.
The executive council is always going to be led by 5th year
students in the time between 4th year 2nd semester till 5th
year 1st semester

➢ What are its purpose
❑ To encourage and motivate Architecture students to become productive in their
chosen field of specialization.
❑ To discover gifted students in architecture and expect them to lead others, thus,
bring the name of the University into its greater heights in the future;
❑ To assist students with difficulties in the field of architecture and
other related courses.
❑ To keep updated with the current trends of architecture both
local and foreign techniques;

❑ To strengthen the friendship of Architecture students through the process of visual
arts, sketching, photography, designs and creative works;
❑ To sharpen the artistic capability of the Architecture students of Addis Ababa
Science and Technology University.
❑ To reinforce students’ way of expressing their artistic communication
skills;

➢ How it originated?
❑ AASTU ARCH CLUB was first initiated by the school in 2006
❑ The first architecture students or the 2005 year batch students gathered and
prepared a proposal in 2008. They were a group of 10 students and Derege Girma
was their chair person.
❑ But still Derege Girma didn’t give up and he include Hilary Fekadu and Bereket
Debay to his team to final establish the club and got recognition in the school in
2009.

Types of Membership
Regular membership – Architecture students registered in the
club will have this title.
Associate Members – Students or non students from inside &
outside the club will have this title. Those are the persons that can have
great Participation and contribution in the club.

• Organizing more and more platforms to strengthen

selected problem in AASTU (Physically in 1:1 scale)
• Give mentorship and tutor services to students for
Free.
• Give Software and other arch. related tutorials
• Financially Strengthen the club

Undertake real efforts that can influence and
improve the current trends of Architecture in
Ethiopia as a whole, including the education
system and practice.
