Molecule Man

Molecule Man, Owen, is summoned by the Beyonder, who reveals his immense power and the threat Owen poses to the omniverse due to the cosmic cube he created. The Beyonder explains that the MCU universe has become a danger because of the excess energy from a shard of the cube, and he believes only Owen can retrieve it without his interference. The document speculates on the future of the MCU post-Secret Wars, suggesting a potential reboot and the possibility of characters being transported to new multiverses.

- Molecule Man (Owen) is summoned by the Beyonder.

- He is summoned in a place described by the Beyonder as

a place not only out of time and space, but a place out of
‘everything’. He jokingly says that it is the greatest
getaway destination.
- We don’t ever hear the name ‘Beyonder’ in the
conversation between Owen and the Beyonder. The
Beyonder says that he came from a line of powerful beings
who exiled him to this place for unknown reasons. He then
somehow, in solidarity, was able to harness his powers to
such an extent that he became the most powerful being in
all of existence, capable of manipulating not just time, but
the entire multiverse. But his hunger didn’t stop there. He
set out on a conquest to grow his power, killing various
celestial beings in the process. He then finally attained the
power to control and manipulate the Omniverse
(Collection of multiverses). However, his habitat in which
he lived was somehow even outside the omniverse, but he
could still control ‘everything’ from there.
- His conquest might’ve terminated about 100,000 years
ago as he said he hadn’t spoken or made contact to
anyone since that time. He stayed alone in his habitat,
sitting vacant with the omniverse in his palm. Also, he has
apparently never interfered with any multiverse or any
universe ever, but for the first time in 100,000 years is
forced to do so.
- Beyonder looks like a normal man in white overalls. He
doesn’t have an actual distinct form but was amazed by
humans and desired to understand their ways. He was
fascinated by the competition, incompleteness and
multiplicity between humans. He wanted to experience it
as all his achievements have come through him
experiencing them. To completely understand the reason
for human incompleteness he would have to experience
being a human in the human world, but since he couldn’t
interfere, he chose to adopt a human form in his solidarity.
He says that being a human just gives him a better sense
of control than being just a blob of energy. He is also
fascinated with his attire, saying that till now he doesn’t
know the actual significance of clothes and thus chose just
a plain white covering for himself, but he shares that
occasionally he does ponder upon different colored clothes
and gets tempted to understand their distinction. This is
also why Owen, on arriving in the Beyonder’s habitat,
switches from his AIM uniform to a similar plain white
attire.
- Owen sits there confused as to why it was him, he chose
to summon and talk to. The Beyonder says that the power
that Owen holds is a threat to the omniverse, especially
since it was the Beyonder who created the cosmic cube
with his own hands and his own temporal energy. He had
created it as a weapon to help him in his conquest, but
there was some error during its formation which caused it
to multiply between multiverses. Thus, instead of there
being just one cosmic cube in the entire multiverse, there
was one in every universe, and with every new universe
branching. This would basically mean that some small
blueprint of the Beyonder’s power was present in every
universe and would continue to spread with every
branching universe. That is why he allowed for incursions
to occur, breaking his oath that he had taken to protect
the multiverse.
- He observed one thing that in every universe in which the
cosmic cube was present, its fate was always common,
except in one universe. Usually, AIM takes in the cube and
tests on it, and eventually George Tarleton harnesses its
power and eventually fights Daredevil in a dimension
created by the cube which is outside of time and space
but confined to the same universe. Later, whatever is left
of the cosmic cube is taken by AIM and the new board
uses it to test out its mutant based Adaptoid project. While
testing, Owen, who is always the lead for the Adaptoid
project, gets exposed to the raw power of the broken cube
but because Owen’s DNA is mutated, the energy he
harnesses multiplies time by time, very slightly but
enough to make him as powerful as the Beyonder
someday. Thus, in every universe, Owen becomes the
Molecule Man and there are trillions of Molecule Men on
the verge of overtaking the Beyonder in terms of power.
- However, in the universe where our Owen hails from,
something unusual happened for the first time ever, that
is, the dimension in which George and Daredevil fought,
instead of perishing, transported both George and
Daredevil to different universes inside the same
multiverse. Also, a shard of the cube, instead of returning
to AIM in the same universe, accidentally transported itself
to some other universe (the main MCU), meaning that
there is a slight excess of the energy in the main MCU.
- However, the Beyonder also explains that not every
universe has an AIM or a Daredevil who is a mutant or
even a George Tarleton. That scenario is the most
common and widespread outcome of the cube (this
suggests that our MCU is not a part of the primary timeline
of the Omniverse, but instead it is a branched timeline.
This tells us that the information that the TVA gave and
everything we’ve ever assumed about the MCU only
makes up for the primary timeline of the multiverse it is
confined in, but in the wider omniverse, it is a branched
multiverse. Even in the multiverse the Marvel Universe is
based in, the MCU multiverse is not the main timeline of
that, but a branched timeline with its own branches. This
is based on the theory that the main Omniverse timeline is
our real-life world in which we live in, without any
superheroes or celestial beings. The branched multiverses
become the fictional worlds such as the Marvel Universe,
the Star Wars universe, the Disney Universe etc.).

- The teasing of ‘trillions of Molecule Men’ (again, the term
‘Molecule Men’ is not used, rather the Beyonder addresses
this to Owen and says trillions of him are out there equally
capable of gaining vast power) could be the original idea
that the MCU was headed to, but then they lazily added
Kang and his variants instead of the WelberVerse. This
means that we might see more Owen Reece’s in the
future, and all of them could possibly be summoned by the
Beyonder in the upcoming Secret Wars.
- The Beyonder explains that he is unable to access our
MCU universe for some reason ever since the shard of the
Cosmic Cube was transposed to there, due to the sudden
of upsurge of his energy in that universe. He explains to
Owen that the fate of the Cosmic Cube in universes
without him or AIM is unpredictable. It is these universes
that the Beyonder seeks to omit (basically the Beyonder’s
indirect aim is to erase all subsequent multiverses
- The Beyonder says that his ‘Cosmic Cube’ problem is
growing tremendously and says that he needs a solution
quickly without him taking part in any action himself or
even without leaving his habitat. He then explains Owen
the actual reason he called him up. He explains that our
main MCU universe (Earth 19999) has become a threat to
the Omniverse and the Owen hailing there or if not then
whoever who finds out about the Cube or its shard will
shortly seek out to harness the excess energy (he is
unaware that the shard of the Cube is with the Avengers).
A person with excess of the Cube’s energy will exceed
other Owens or potential suitors in terms of power as their
power will grow at a cosmically faster pace. And the
greater horror is that the Beyonder cannot even access or
observe our MCU universe. He says in this case the entire
MCU multiverse would have to be omitted from existence.
It would only benefit the Omniverse. Then he explains
Owen’s purpose. He says that every person who harnesses
the energy of the Cube (in turn the Beyonder’s power) has
a spiritual & temporal connection with it. Only Owen has
this connection to this shard of the Cube and if anybody is
powerful enough to infiltrate our MCU and retrieve that
shard without the Beyonder interfering, it is obviously
Owen.
- Potential fate of the MCU post Secret Wars:
After Secret Wars, Welber could very well erase the MCU
and start fresh with other multiverses to explore within the
Marvel multiverse or even continue in the main timeline of
the Marvel multiverse. This could mean goodbye to almost
all the characters introduced before Welber re-gained
control of the MCU. There is a way how he could reboot
the MCU. To fully commit to the reboot and to successfully
establish the MCU as an erased multiversal branch of the
main timeline of the Marvel Universe, Welber could even
rename the cinematic universe we will be a part of
thereon as MVU (Marvel Visual Universe) or something
other than the MCU, completely erasing its existence. Not
all MCU characters will die or leave us, some will stick
around. It could be that in the upcoming Secret Wars, we
will finally see our main MCU timeline go through an
incursion after all its branches are destroyed due to the
incursions. The incursions could be a part of the
Beyonder’s plan to stop his energy from spreading and
trying to limit it as much as possible. Of course, some
heroes or villains will die during the events of Secret Wars,
and some will perish as their multiverse perishes with the
incursions. However, those remain alive at the end in the
battlefield might be saved as the battlefield is also in a
place out of ‘everything’. They may stay there forever, be
detained by the Beyonder as prisoner if he persists to live
after the events or may be transported to new multiverses
such as the Sony SpiderVerse one or the animated X-Men
one. Here, they may leave fighting forever and continue
with their lives, bidding us goodbye, or accompany other
newly centred heroes such as Cyclops, Black Bolt,
Daredevil, Wolverine, Molecule Man etc. And this is how
the MCU will be destroyed, and a new cinematic universe
will take birth.
- Finale’s Tie to Daredevil’s ending:
At the end of Daredevil, we see Karen Page, the late
Daredevil’s girlfriend, receive a call from an unknown
voice. He reveals to Karen that he knows Daredevil’s
secret identity as Matt Murdock
