Cardiology Specialty Program
Cardiovascular Specialty and Subspecialty Training Programs are mainly about Prevention,
Treatment, Post interventional or post treatment Care. Regarding High Probability of Mortality
and Morbidity due to cardiac diseases, in recent 3 decades, there has been a special Attention to
these courses in the world and likewise in our Country, resulting in magnificent changes in these
courses including changes in management as well as technology and Facilities. The first
Curriculum in this subject had been written in 2006 with 3-5 years revision plan. This current
curriculum is the revised version, produced in 2012.
Program Duration
The Cardiology program lasts at least 4 years.
Objectives
At the end of the program learners will be competent in the following skills:
• Performing imaging procedures
• Labeling the radiopharmaceuticals required in nuclear medicine
• Setting the nuclear medicine and imaging devices
• Performing different therapeutic procedures using radiopharmaceuticals
• Performing imaging stress tests
• Performing needle biopsy of the thyroid
• Using gamma probes to examine the sentinel lymph nodes or tumors
Who Can Attend?
Individuals holding an M.D. or M.B.B.S. degree.
Admission Requirement:

• * A letter of application or motivation in which you clearly specify your major and level
of interest.
• * A Resume or C.V.
• * Previous degree(s) in original: Ph.D. candidates should provide both their Bachelor's
and Master's (or any other related degree such as M.Phil.), and M.Sc. candidates should
provide both their B.Sc. and High School Diploma (or any other related degree such as
M.B.B.S.) along with the complete transcript of all records for all degrees (Minimum GPA
of 3.00/4.00 or equivalent).
• Proficiency in English and Acceptable Scores: IELTS with a minimum band score of 5.5 or
its equivalent in TOEFL iBT (minimum 69) or TOEFL PBT (minimum 525) is required upon
registration.

• * A copy of passport's main pages
For students intending to study in a graduate program, providing a certificate of any publications
or published papers will be considered as an advantage, though providing these types of material
is not obligatory and part of the requirements.
Tuition Fee
$5000 annually – up to 30% scholarship is available for top applicant or scholarship is available
for current medical students and participants from developing countries, each year.
