It is apparent that

consumers nowadays have more opportunities to choose imported foods thanks to the development of
global transportation systems. This phenomenon has both positive and negative aspects. In my opinion, the
advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

Admittedly, there are some drawbacks. One major concern is overconsumption, which can be fueled by
aggressive marketing on social media. When a new foreign product is introduced, advertisements are often
designed to attract people’s attention and encourage them to purchase it. These campaigns may
exaggerate the benefits of the product, creating unnecessary demand and leading to overconsumption.
Another issue is the potential decline of local food industries. As consumers increasingly buy imported
goods, local producers may struggle to compete, resulting in reduced investment and even job losses,
which could harm the national economy in the long run.

Nevertheless, the positive sides of this trend should not be overlooked. The greater diversity of available
foods allows people to broaden their horizons and gain a deeper understanding of different cultures. One
of the best ways to experience a culture is through its cuisine, which can foster mutual respect and cultural
exchange. Furthermore, easier access to foods from around the world can contribute to greater harmony
between countries by promoting shared experiences. This can enhance the sense of freedom and choice
for individuals, allowing them to enjoy a richer and more varied lifestyle.

In conclusion, while there are valid concerns about overconsumption and the impact on local industries,
these issues can be addressed through effective government policies and responsible media practices.
Overall, the benefits of having access to food produced all over the world are more significant, as they
encourage cultural understanding and provide consumers with more choices, which are better suited to the
needs of modern society.
