1. What is meant by creativity?
Creativity is the ability to think about a task or
a problem in a new or different way, the ability
to use the imagination to generate new ideas.
Creativity enables you to solve complex
problems or find interesting ways to approach
tasks. If you are creative, you look at things
from a unique prospective. You can find
patterns and make connections to find
opportunities
Creativity is best thought of as a cluster of
skills used to produce an idea that is novel
Creativity is the act of turning new and
imaginative ideas into reality
"Creativity is contagious, pass it on" Einstein
Creativity is allowing yourself to make
mistakes (Skott Adams)
Creativity is the ability to generate many
different ideas
Creativity is the ability to see many ways of
doing things
Creativity is the ability to conceive of a range
of future possibilities
I define creativity as the process of having
original ideas that have value Ken Robinson
Creativity is just connecting things
Creativity is the ability to see relationship
among seemingly unrelated objects or ideas
The freedom you give yourself to make
mistakes is the best environment for creativity
Creativity is characterized by the ability to
perceive the world in new ways, to find hidden
patterns, to make connections between
seemingly unrelated phenomena, and to
generate solutions
Creativity involves two processes: thinking and
producing
If you have ideas but don't act on them, you
imaginative but not creative
2. How can I become more creative?
Making connections between different ideas
and use those connections yto solve problems
in a new way
Asking questions sometimes allows you to
challenge accepted or conventional wisdom
which no longer relevant
Making observation pf the world around you.
This can inspire you to think of ways to help
you become more efficient in handling task
others do
Networking to enjoy a diverse company and
network with people who are unlike
themselves. Talking and working with people
from different backgrounds can help you gain
new prospective when approaching your work
Experimenting to test and see if it works. This
helps you to see failure as an opportunity to
learn and improve
You have to be willing to take risks and
progress through discomfort to get to the
finish line
3. What can stop us from being creative?
Fear is a major obstacle on the path of being
creative . Fear comes in different forms and
shapes, fear of change
Teachers are reluctant to change, sometimes
there is simply no time for trying out new
things
Fear of failure as a sign of defeat or
punishment, we should think of failure as part
of the process and accept it, because learning
to fail can deeply enhance the creative
progress
Fear of rocking the boat and defying the crowd
when the culture is against creativity. Then it
fine for creative individuals to stick their neck
out and hold on to the new ways till they
become strong enough to take the place of old
habits
How to overcome our fears:
Find your tribe, going to conferences, meeting
the likeminded professionals
Find a mentor
Bear in mind that being creative is an attitude/
a state of mind
Stay loose and relaxed
Be playful
Look for
Cherish the company of creative people around
you and superman
Make something happen
If things do not quite work the way you had
anticipated, keep trying and you will get better
and better
4. How to improve creativity skills?

Seize the moment. Always keep a notepad and
a pencil ready. When an idea strikes, don't ever
crush it aside thinking that you will remember
it later. You won't
If there a particular time of the day conducive
to better thinking, try to use it for that purpose
Sometimes a great idea needs a good
incubation period, so nurture it, take it apart
and play around with it.
Take baby steps
Take sensible risks and be willing to bend or
break the rules of the game in order to succeed

They know how to get their students' attention
and how to keep it.
They know how to teach in ways that are
meaningful to students
They will always find ways to make their
lessons stick. They should have originality
followed by fairness. They know the best way
to get our students' attention through a
surprise but remember that they do not want
to be shocked.
They inject new life into the coursebook.
They should be able to cater for diversity of our
classrooms mixed levels, mixed intelligence,
mixed background and mixed styles.
They should meet the needs learning and
emotions of the students
Be curious and hungry in education
Allow yourself to accept new ideas
Don't take everything too seriously
You should never stop questioning.. "What if
….?
Tips for creative thinker:
Use the familiar as strange (Anon)
Keep a notebook for BI Quotes, thoughts and
info because they seldom return
Have a habit of curiosity. Continuously ask a
lot of questions
Listen for ideas. Never miss a chance to shut
up. The word "listen" has the same letters as
"silent"
See problems as opportunities to practice your
skills as a thinker
Creative thinking is a form of active energetic
patience
Don't blindly accept what others say
Think outside the box
Try not to be over-addicted to the familiar
Never reinvent the wheel. Research the area to
find out
