Ladakh
1. India has launched its first-ever commercial hydrogen fuel cell bus service in Leh, Ladakh

2. In an attempt to check water pollution and promote conservation of the Indus River, Ladakh has declared
August 12 as a Safai Andolan Day for the mighty river.

J&K
3. Operation SHIVA is a high-altitude annual security operation led by the Indian Army to ensure safe and
smooth conduct of the Shri Amarnath Yatra in Jammu & Kashmir.

4. The Geological Survey of India (GSI) has warned of severe threats to the Guryul Ravine fossil site in
Kashmir due to ongoing quarrying and land diversion.

5. Indian Army's Chinar Corps said that three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were killed in the ongoing "Operation
Mahadev" near Dara region in J&K.

6. The first direct unlocking system has been installed at Dinanagar railway station in Northern Railway's

Uttarakhand
13. Uttarakhand to set new record planting over 5 lakh saplings to mark the Harela festival on 16th July

14. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the initiation of Operation Kalanemi against
those who impersonate saints and commit fraud.

15. The Himalayan state of Uttarakhand – a region boasting 69 per cent forest cover and a strong national

Category" plant species.

Punjab
17. To ensure stringent punishment for those committing the crime of sacrilege, the Punjab cabinet approved

18. ‘Project Janam Shakti’ — a comprehensive initiative in Punjab’s border district Ferozepur to check
