Task 1: The maps show the changes in Shalton village from 1910
to 2010. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting
the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The map provided demonstrates the transformation of Shalton


village over a century, from 1910 to 2010. Shalton village
witnessed a considerably alternation between 1910 and 2010
with many expand facilites: many new roads, more building and
residental houses.
In 1910, there was a large house laid in the central of the
village, surrounded with a vast green space and few residental
houses and buildings. Around the central of Shalton village was
tangent to 3 main roads: The School Road, London Road and
High Street. Along those roads also appeared few of building
and residental house, each of them contained about 2 or 3
accommodations.
A century later, in 2010, there were couple of things
transformed. 3 main roads stay unchanged, but a small path
from London Road to the residental house and the cafeteria in
the central, which rose from just 4 in 1910 to almost 10
buildings in 2010. Similarity, along the main roads experienced
the significant alternation. Although the post office was still
stablized, there were about 4 buildings in each roads, which
was 2 more than that in the last century.

Task 1: The table below shows the percentage of main


types of dwelling in Victoria, the Northern Territory and
Tasmania. Summarise the information by selecting and
reporting the main features and make comparisons
where relevant.

The table given illustrates the porpotion of major types of


accommodation in 3 area: Victoria, The Northern Territory and
Tasmania.
Most of type of dwelling in Victoria and The Northern Territory
witnessed a steady increased over years, whereas the trend of
number of dwelling types in Tasmania tend to fluctuated. House
was the most popular type of dwelling in 3 areas, while Other
seemed to be the least common one.
Tasmania had the highest number of house in both years, by 88
and 89 in 2001 and 2006, respectively. Meanwhile, others
experienced a decreased over year, which was 76 and 63 of
Victoria and the Northern Territory in 2006.
Nevertheless, Other was 50-60 less than the figure for house,
which was only 2,15 and 1 in Victoria, the Northern Territory
and Tasmania in 2006, respectively.
Whereas, the Northern Territory dominanted the figure for both
Semi-attached house and Flat/Apartment in 2001 and 2006,

which was 15 for both types of dwelling. Victoria experienced a


slightly rose by 1 unit over years, which was 12 and 10.
Conversely, the number of Tasmania unstablized, about 4 for
Semi-attached house and 6 for Flat/Apartment.
