CHOOSING THE RIGHT SIZE
Select the size based on body measurements, not age.
Tops & Dresses: Use chest circumference to select the size.
Bottoms & Skirts: Use hip circumference to select the size.
Full-body Garments: Use trunk measurement (shoulder to crotch).
If the child is exactly between two sizes, choose the larger size for a looser fit or the smaller size
for a snug fit.

PRINTING YOUR PATTERN
There are two options for printing the files:
• A4/US Letter – Designed for home printing. This format requires assembling multiple pages;
detailed instructions are provided below.
• A0 – Suitable for professional printing at a copy shop. This format offers a quick and
convenient option without the need for assembly.
HOW TO PRINT THE PATTERN
1. Download and open the file
using a PDF reader such as
Adobe Acrobat Reader.
2. Set your printer to 100% scale or
"actual size" for accurate
dimensions.
3. Print the first page and mea-
sure the test square to verify the
scale before printing the entire
pattern.
If your pattern has layers you can select only the layers
you want to print. Click on the layers icon on the left hand
side and deselect any of the eyes you don’t want to print.
Ensure any annotations are also selected.
Print the remaining pages.
Assemble the pattern.
ASSEMBLING THE PATTERN
This pattern is divided into tiles, each labeled with a combi-
nation of letters and numbers to indicate its position. The
letters represent the rows (e.g., A, B, C), and the numbers
represent the tiles within each row (e.g., 1, 2, 3).
To assemble the pattern correctly, follow the tile labels and
ensure the diamonds along the edges align. The diagram
on next page shows how the tiles should be taped together.

PATTERN LAYOUT GUIDE
The image below illustrates the layout of the assembled pattern. Use it to determine
which pages to print, as not all may be necessary.

CUTTING LAYOUT
Below are suggested layouts for arranging the pattern pieces on your fabric. If you're
using a printed or textured fabric, ensure all pieces are laid the same way up. Also,
remember to pay attention to which pieces need to be cut as pairs or on the fold.
Place the pattern pieces according to the grainline and secure them with weights or pins.
Trace each pattern piece carefully, ensuring all markings (notches, darts, etc.) are
transferred.

Note: You can choose to skip the pocket for a
cleaner look, or add it for a more functional
design.
Step 1: Sew the patch pocket
Sew a basting stitch (long stitch length)
around the curved edges of the pocket, about
0.5cm (¼ inch) from the raw edge. Do not
backstitch at the ends.
Gently pull on the basting thread to gather the
seam allowance slightly - this will help the
fabric curve neatly. Fold the edge over by 1 cm.
Press along the gathered edge to create a
smooth, even shape.
Fold the top edge of the pocket down by 1.5 cm
(½ inch) twice to enclose the raw edge. Press
well and edgestitch along the folded edge to
secure the hem.
Mark the placement of the pocket on the pants
using chalk or a fabric marker. Pin the pocket
securely in place.
Edgestitch around the pocket, sewing close to
the folded edge. Reinforce the top corners with
a few backstitches or a small bar tack for extra
durability.

Step 2: Prepare the Hems
For the waistband: Fold the top edge
down by 1 cm (3/8”), press, then fold
again by 2.5 cm (1”) and press again to
form a clean edge.
For the leg hems: Fold the bottom edge
of each leg up by 1 cm (3/8”), press, then
fold again by 2 cm (5/8”) and press
again to create a crease.
These creases will help guide the stitch-
ing in the next steps.
Unfold all creases.
Step 3: Sew the Crotch Seams
Place the front pieces right sides together and pin the
crotch seams. Do the same for the back pieces.
Sew the crotch seams with a straight stitch, then serge
the edges for a clean finish.

Step 4: Sew the Side Seams
Place the front and back pieces right sides together, aligning the side edges. Pin
the side seams in place. Sew along each side seam with a straight stitch.
Finish the edges with a serger or zigzag stitch.
Step 5: Sew the Inseam
Place the front and back
pieces right sides together,
aligning the inseam edges.
Pin in place and sew along
the inseam with a straight
stitch.
Finish the edges with a
serger or zigzag stitch.

Step 6: Create the Waistband Casing
Fold the top edge along the creases made in Step 2, hiding the raw edges inside.
Press in place.
Sew close to the folded edge, leaving a small opening for the elastic.
Cut the elastic according to the table measurements and thread it through the casing
using a safety pin.

Step 7: Secure the elastic
Overlap the elastic ends by 2 cm,
making sure the elastic is not
twisted inside the casing. Sew a
rectangle over the overlapped
ends to secure them in place.

SEWING INSTRUCTIONS
Step 8: Close the Waistband Opening
Once the elastic is secured, sew the open-
ing of the waistband casing closed with a
straight stitch, making sure the fabric is
neatly folded inside.
Step 9: Finish the Bottom Hems
Fold the bottom hem along the creases
made in Step 2, then sew along the fold
with a straight stitch to secure it in place.
Congrats, your pants are now complete!
