Stitches and Abbreviations - This pattern is written in US terminology
st/sts – stitch/stitches
sl st – slip stitch
Ch – chain
SC – single crochet
HDC – half double crochet
DC – double crochet
BLO – back loop only
inv dec – invisible decrease

Tools and Materials


- 5 mm crochet hook
- Bernat Premium #4 worsted (medium)
- Black and Brown
- Yarn needle
- Safety eyes
- Stitch marker
- Scissors
- Stuffing

Final Size
- 10 cm in diameter
Technical Notes
*Finish all pieces before attaching them together.
*Make sure you stuff all pieces that need to be filled.
*Insert the eyes before you close the lower head.
*At the end of each round is a stitch count in brackets.
*Stitch count does not include chains or slip stitches.
Head – Brown
Round 1: Make a magic circle, into the magic circle, make 6 SC (6 sts)
Round 2: Make 2 SC in each st around (12 sts)
Round 3: Make 2 SC in the first st, followed by 1 SC in the next st, repeat around
(18 sts)
Round 4: Make 2 SC in the first st, followed by 1 SC in the next 2 sts, repeat
around. (24 sts)
Round 5-8: Make 1 SC in each st around (24 sts)
Round 9: Make 1 SC inv dec, followed by 1 SC in the next 2
sts, repeat around (18 sts)
Round 10: Make 1 SC inv dec, followed by 1 SC in the next
st, repeat around (12 sts)
Round 11: Make 6 SC inv dec (6 sts)

*Insert the eyes, stuff, and fasten off. Make sure to leave yarn to sew the head onto
the body.

Ears – Brown – Make Two


Round 1: Make a magic circle, into the magic circle, make 3
HDC and 1 sl st (4 sts)
*Fasten off and leave 10 cm of yarn to attach the ears to the
head. Sew the bottom together, and then sew them onto the
head.
Mouth – Brown
Round 1: Make a magic circle, into the magic circle, make 6
SC (6 sts)
Round 2: Make 2 SC in each st around (12 sts)
Round 3-4: Make 1 SC in each st around (12 sts)

*Fasten off and leave 20 cm of yarn to sew the mouth to the


face.

Legs– Start with Black – Make Four


Round 1: Make a magic circle, Ch 2, into the magic circle, make 10 DC, join with
a sl st (10 sts)
Round 2: Ch 1, make 1 HDC in the BLO of each st
around, join with a sl st (10 sts)
*Change colour to brown.
Round 3-5: Ch 1, make 1 HDC in each st around, join
with a sl st (10 sts)
*Fasten off and leave 20 cm of yarn to sew the legs to
the body. Make sure to stuff them before you attach them to the body.

Body/Coaster– Brown
Round 1: Make a magic circle, Ch 2, into the magic circle, make 10 DC, join with
a sl st (10 sts)
Round 2: Ch 2, make 2 DC in each st around, join with a sl st (20 sts)
Round 3: Ch 2, make 2 DC in the first st, followed by 1 DC in the next st, repeat
around, join with a sl st (30 sts)
Round 4: Ch 2, make 1 DC in the next 2 sts, followed
by, 2 DC in the next st, repeat around, join with a sl st
(40 sts)
Round 5: Ch 1, make 1 SC in the first st, followed by 2
SC in the next st, then 1 SC in the next 2 sts, repeat
around, join with a sl st (50 sts)

*Fasten off. Now sew all the pieces together.

Making the Mane and Tail


Attach all the Pull black yarn Tie a knot. Cut off.
