Surgery (MBBS)
About the Course

The Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the Management and Science
University (MSU) is a 5-year medical programme offered at the main campus in Shah Alam and
the offshore campus in Bangalore, India. This programme has 2 phases: pre-Clinical phase
(Years 1 & 2) where the knowledge of basic medical sciences is taught, followed by the Clinical
phase (Years 3, 4 & 5) of clinical sciences. Being a student-centered institution, the MBBS
outcome-based and integrated system-based curriculum utilizes 21st century teaching & learning
methodologies in its delivery throughout the programme. These include interactive lectures,
problem-based learning (PBL), team-based learning, project-based learning, practical and clinical
skills sessions, and clinical training with patient contact in the various clinical disciplines. Early
clinical exposure is introduced in the pre-clinical phase to emphasis the importance of clinical
application of basic medical sciences. To enhance the students’ learning experiences in the
various aspects of healthcare services, our curriculum provides the opportunity to do clinical
electives overseas; basic research and collaborative learning with other Allied-Health Sciences
students in the PEC - Interprofessional Education (IPE) modules.
