Sending Money
Inmates each have a commissary account to deposit money to be used for purchase at the facility
canteen. For example, inmates can purchase stamps, stationery snacks etc. there are a couple of ways
you can deposit money into an inmate’s account, including lockbox, EFT, cheques or walk-ins.
Lockbox is one of the ways you can send money to an inmate’s account. The great thing about the
service is that it is free. It also comes with a more efficient system, as it holds the money for a lesser
time before it gets deposited into the inmates' account.
Electronic Money Transfer
This is the fastest way to get money to an inmate; however, it may come with some small fee. The
money will be deposited into the inmates account within 72 hours. You have around three options to
choose from when using EFT’s including:
JPay
GTL/Connectnetwork
Keefe
You can also write a cheque and send it to the prison. As long as you have the address correct and the
cheque does not bounce, it will end in the inmates' account. However, this is the slowest method to get
money to the inmate and may take 30 days to get the money into the inmate's account.
Making Phone calls
Phone calls are a great way to get some immediate contact with friends and loved ones. At the Autry
State Prison, inmates are allowed to make phone calls, either collect or prepaid calls, at certain times of
the day, subject to certain rules.
Inmates should expect to have limited time on the phones, which are all designated at certain times of
the day.
All phone calls will be monitored and may be recorded for security purposes.
Inmates have the choice of making prepaid calls or collect calls. For prepaid calls, inmates will have to
have some money in their phone accounts deposited by their loved ones.
