In order to facilitate the composition of multiple devices with dimensions of 2 modules, it is recommended to install modular
device-holder boxes for at least 4 modules. Any excess space can be advantageously used for future expansion of the system
(adding scenarios controls, etc.) or integration of home automation systems not included in the initial phase.
It is also advised to leave space available in the most suitable location, with the exception of the interior of the DIN
switchboard for the installation of a SCS/ZigBee interface, which is useful for the system extension by using battery-powered
ZigBee radio control devices.
Warning:
Local display and touch screen devices must be installed preferably at a height of 1.6 m above the floor. This height is
reduced to 1.2 m if the devices are intended for people with disabilities or handicapped.

DEVICE SELECTION
The knowledge of the system to be managed is fundamental for the correct choice of the sensors and actuators. In this case it
is necessary to interface with the technician and/or plumber who must implement the system to share the following design
information:
type of system: radiators, fan-coil (2 pipe, 4-pipe, n. speed) or radiant floor panels, presence of Splitter for Air Conditioning.
If the system will be integrated with HVAC systems, ask technical support to the branch office.
solenoid valves amount and features: ON/OFF or Open/Close type;
number and characteristics of the circulation pumps or consents for boiler switch on, chiller or as inputs for meter devices.
the type of the probes, amount depending on the areas, type of system and the need or not to adjust the temperature by
local control knob.
The knowledge of the number of areas of the house, for which the differentiated temperature control is required,
allows to choose the central unit to be used:

Recommendations:
For the probes installation take into account
the following recommendations:
provide a probe for each zone to be controlled; if the environment has extended surface
match a probe in "slave" configuration.
position the probes at a height of approximately 1.5 m, away from areas that may affect
the reading of the room temperature, such as nearby windows, fan-coils, or radiators.
Avoid installation in perimeter walls.
Do not place devices that heat up near the probes.

For the selection of items to consider the two types of system achievable:
basic protection system of perimeter and/or volumetric type;
full protection system, that in addition to basic protection, provides services at the occurrence of an intrusion event,
such as sending messages by phone from the central unit communicator or from the MyHOME_Web portal and/or the
activation of automated systems (home lights switching on).
The characteristics of the home determine the choice of the protections (volumetric, perimeter and/or mixed) and the
number of zones in which to divide the system. The following table shows some recommendations depending on the type of
home.
In addition to the criteria listed on the previous page, the approach to a new MyHome Burglar-alarm system design, at layout
level, can be carried out according to the degree of protection offered by the system:
Basic protection: i.e. based on the essential protection of the house by means of magnetic contacts on entrance doors
and windows, on the use of one or more IR sensors for volumetric protection and an external siren.
Full protection: in addition to the features described above, the system offers additional functions such as alarm signal
even with internal sirens, sending phone messages and activation of automation scenarios through integration with other
MyHOME systems.
For the selection of the devices refer to the following table; for detailed information relating to the devices refer to the
Burglar-alarm section of this guide.

Note 1): Choose internal siren only if the external siren is not allowed for local regulations or if is a source of nuisance to the neighborhood.
Note 2): If the 3485B or 3485STD central unit is selected, it is possible to use the internal contact for the protection of the entrance door and
to use one or more contact interfaces for windows.
Note 3): for the selection of the central unit, of PSTN or PSTN/GSM type, check availability of the telephone line.
If the PSTN wire-line is not available, use the PSTN/GSM interface item 3489GSM
or choose the central unit with GSM telephone connection.

The system design must be carried out jointly considering the following factors:
2. Type of room: residential or service sector (Offices, doctor’s surgery, shops, etc.).
3. System features:
basic stereo type with 1 single sound source, in this case the system will be single channel stereo and the sound source
will diffuse the music in all environments;
with two or more sound sources: in this case the system is multichannel stereo: different sound sources simultaneously
diffuse the music in several rooms.
The system, without the installation of specific devices can be easily integrated with other MyHOME applications such as
2-WIRE video door entry system.
FUNCTIONAL: that is based on a good compromise between cost and functionality in which he main priority is selecting
which functions to include, and the possibility of making the system ready for future expansion is also taken into account.
ECONOMIC: that is based on the cost of the system creation. It does not preclude the use of different potentials offered by
the home automation system but provides for example, the use of devices of different types (lower cost), without taking into
account future expansion of the system.

The installation of DIN devices (power supply, audio video node, etc.) must be carried out inside a switchboard from which
derive, with "star" system, the BUSes for connecting the entrance panels, the handset and any cameras for video surveillance.
For applications where there are multiple devices, it is possible to connect them "in parallel" on the same BUS by "in-out"

By way of example, the following table shows some advanced functions obtainable by the integration of two or more systems
with the methods described below. For each example, see the drawing with the simplified scheme.

as Automation, Temperature Control and Energy management are natively

opening of approximately 60 cm during the construction of the wall.
Dedicated box for the installation of multimedia devices (routers, modems, etc.). The metal
basket, which can only be fitted on 36 module device holder supports, has cut-out marks on
all sides, providing flexibility during the management of the cable passage areas. Supplied
as standard are 4 rubber cable glands, required for ensuring the protection of data and
power cables. For multimedia device installations requiring a large number of cables, a
specific kit with 8 cable glands is also available (3831). The installation of the devices is
completed using appropriate clips (F496/MF). *
* The Flatwall metal structure screens the Wi-Fi signal. Therefore, the installation of an external antenna must be allowed for at the design stage.
