LIGA “PAGKAKAISA” BASKETBALL
TOURNAMENT
The game of basketball continues to grow up in popularity throughout the world. Its continued
success demands that the rules that govern the sport ensure that the games are challenging
and exciting. At the same time, the officials must ensure that the rules do not provide
opportunities for one (1) team to gain an advantage over its opponents. To achieve and
maintain these objectives, it is important that all participants, especially officials, have a
thorough understanding of the rules as well as the underlying philosophy behind them.
1. Basketball teams should be capable of abiding by the rules and regulations of the
game and the implementing guidelines of the tournament.
COMMITTEE INTERACTION
1. Every team must have only two representatives (the coach and a player) to talk issues
with the committee.
2. Every protest must be put in a written form; verbal protest will not be entertained.
3. No protest will be entertained once the game started.
4. The representatives of each team must talk to the committee in a respectful manner.
Any misconduct/disrespect shown will be automatically the cause of team ejection.
5. No family, relatives, friends, etc. of players are allowed to talk to the committee; only the
two representatives are allowed to talk to the committee.
NOTE: Teams should be capable of abiding by the rules and regulations of the game
and the implementing guidelines of the tournament.
TEAM COMPOSITION
1. Line up that has been submitted must be the final line up until the end of the game. No
change will be allowed.
2. Maximum of 15 players are entitled in each team.
4. No player is allowed to play in two different team.
5. Only official designated coaches shall occupy the designated benches allotted for this
purpose.
6. Half of the quota must be paid in the opening. The other half will be before the second game.
NO QUOTA, NO PLAY.
7. Once the quota has been paid, it’s not refundable.
Player Qualification:
1. Player must be a legitimate employee of VTLC. No outsiders allowed.
5. If a player is suspected that he is not a legit employee due to protest and physical
characteristics must produce documents (company I.D, Slip, etc.) as a proof of their
employment. NO DOCUMENTS, NO PLAY.
TEAM UNIFORMS
1. NO UNIFORM, NO PLAY. (At least the top uniform of the players must be of same style and
color.)
2. No uniform = 1 lose
3. If a team does not have uniform, but the opposing team still wants to continue the game, an
additional of 15 points will be given to the team with uniform.
4. Jersey number assigned to the players must be their permanent number throughout the
league.
5. Under t-shirt will only be allowed if it is of the same color as the uniform.
6. If opposing teams have the same color of uniforms, one of the teams will be requested to
wear an under t-shirt of a different color.
PLAYING TIME
1. 30 minutes late without prior notice is equivalent to 1 lose. The point will be given to the
opposing team.
2. Each game will have 10 minutes running time per quarter.
3. In case of a tie at the end of a regular game time, 5 minutes overtime will follow to break the
tie.
4. Game will be played in running time but will stop during free throws, time-out, and upon
referee call.
5. Clock will stop every time the referee blows the whistle even in the last 5 minutes of the
regular time and on overtime period.
DEFAULT GAME
1. Default game is 15 minutes in open substitution division after scheduled game time and a
team needs at least 6 players to start.
2. Only the league can postpone, cancel or reschedule the games due to unforeseen and
inevitable events. If both teams cannot play as scheduled, both teams lose by default.
3. If a team commits 3 defaults, the committee will kick them out of the league.
4. A player can still play even he arrived in the last minute of the game.
TIME OUTS
1. A team is allowed two 30 seconds time out per quarter.
2. Unused time out/s in the previous quarter cannot be carried over the next one.
EJECTIONS
1. When the coach is ejected, he/she will no longer can coach in the entire tournament.
2. When the team or player found to be under the influence of drugs, alcohol or any
intoxicating products will be meted one-game suspension on the first offense and the
second offense, suspension for the entire duration of the tournament. This rule
includes tolerance of the coaching staff.
3. The referee can eject anybody on the hard court or bench for conduct unbecoming,
physical or verbal abuse by officials, player or any representative of an organization.
4. Players involved in a fight on the hard court will automatically be ejected plus a possible
suspension to take effect immediately. The same applies to other team players who
invade the hard court from the sideline or stands in sympathy of friends.
5. A second technical foul called on the same individual results in automatic ejection.
6. The referee’s decision is final and must be respected.
7. NO GAMBLING, OR BETTING DURING THE OFFICIAL GAME. IF CAUGHT, SUNCTION
WILL BE GIVEN.
TECHNICALITIES:
1.1. Spitting on the floor, player, referee management.
1.2. Removing shoes during the game.
1.3. Removing uniform during the game.
1.4. Smoking.
1.5. Continuous complaining.
1.6. Others: Elbows
NOTE: THE COMMITTEE’S DECISION IS FINAL AND UNBREAKABLE. RESPECT THE
OFFICIALS AND REFEREE’S. TRUE WINNERS KEEP ON PLAYING, UNTIL THEY GOT IT
