About the Conference – HRIC 2026
Sustainable Human Resource Management in the Age of Disruption
We are excited to announce that the 6th Human Resources International Conference (HRIC) is
scheduled to be held at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore in India. Previous HRIC
conferences were successfully conducted in China, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, and South
Africa. We invite academics, practitioners, and students to share their insights, research, and
expertise. In an era of emerging technologies, helping employees and leaders navigate the
unprecedented technological disruptions has become critical.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has become the next big landscape, which is evolving at an
exponential pace. Its versatility has percolated into the domain of Human Resources, where AI
powered tools are increasingly assisting professionals. However, alongside the promise of this
disruption, the needs of the employees are evolving, making it imperative to rethink sustainability
in HRM and help them navigate the impact.

HRIC 2026 Tracks

Track 1: Digital Transformation in HRM
Digital technologies such as artificial intelligence,
analytics, and automation are reshaping human resource
management. From recruitment and learning to
performance management and employee engagement,
digital tools are redefining HR’s role in building
sustainable organizations. As workplaces become
increasingly data-driven and technology-enabled, HR
systems must evolve to accommodate this disruption. This
track invites submissions that explore both opportunities
and challenges in leveraging digital technologies for
HRM.

Track 2: Future of Work and HR

The future of work is marked by rapid disruptions in
employment models, skill requirements, and organizational
design. Remote, hybrid, and gig work demand adaptive HR
strategies that facilitate coordination across boundaries and
ensure employee engagement and well-being. This track
seeks manuscripts that examine how HR can shape policies
and practices to prepare organizations and individuals for
an uncertain future, supporting competitiveness and human
resource development.
Track 3: Employee Safety, Well-Being, and Mental Health
Employee well-being has moved from a peripheral
concern to a strategic imperative. This track focuses on
the role of HR in fostering psychological safety,
managing burnout, building mental resilience, and
creating supportive ecosystems. As remote and hybrid
work introduces challenges like technostress, digital
fatigue, and isolation, there is a need for innovative HR-
led interventions. Submissions are invited that examine
practices, policies, and technologies aimed at
safeguarding employee well-being.

Track 4: Entrepreneurship and HRM

Entrepreneurial firms operate in dynamic and uncertain

environments, requiring HR practices that attract, retain,
and motivate talent while supporting sustained growth.
At the same time, effective HRM systems can nurture
innovative mindsets within these organizations. This
track welcomes research on how HRM enables
entrepreneurial ventures, fosters innovation ecosystems,
and supports sustainable people management in
entrepreneurial settings.

Track 5: The Role of HR in Environmental Sustainability and

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

As corporate responsibility expands, HR is increasingly

pivotal in integrating Environmental, Social, and
Governance (ESG) principles into organizational practices.
This track examines how HR can operationalize
sustainability by embedding it in talent management,
engagement, performance, and culture. From green
recruitment to community partnerships, HR plays a central
role in translating sustainability agendas into employee-
driven outcomes. Submissions that explore HR’s role in
advancing environmental sustainability and CSR are
encouraged.
Track 6: Talent Management and Succession
Planning

Sustainable competitive advantage depends on how

organizations attract, develop, retain, and replace talent.
HR is key to designing agile, future-oriented talent
systems that identify high-potential employees and
prepare leadership pipelines for uncertain environments.
This track explores new models and evidence-based
strategies for talent management and succession planning
that align with organizational purpose and performance.

Track 7: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)

Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are central to

building sustainable HRM in today’s interconnected
world. Inclusive organizations are better positioned to
innovate and adapt by leveraging diverse perspectives
and ensuring equitable opportunities. Technology-
enabled workplaces also present new avenues to advance
DEI agendas. This track invites submissions exploring
policies, practices, and cultural shifts at the intersection
of technological disruption and DEI.

Track 8: Indigenous Knowledge System and HR

Indigenous knowledge systems emphasize communal

leadership, harmony with nature, collective well-being,
and ethical conduct—principles resonating with
progressive HRM thinking. Integrating indigenous
philosophies can help HR design more inclusive,
humanistic, and sustainable practices. This track invites
research on how HR can learn from indigenous
knowledge systems to develop culturally grounded and
socially responsible people practices while helping
preserve indigenous identities within modern
organizations.
Track 9: Poster Presentations

This track invites visual display of emerging ideas,

preliminary findings, and practice-based insights in a
poster format. Ideal for work-in-progress research, it
encourages interaction, feedback, and scholarly exchange
in a dynamic setting.

Track 10: Doctoral Submission

Designed for PhD scholars at any stage, this track offers a

developmental platform to present research, gain expert
feedback, and network with senior faculty and peers —
with the aim of nurturing high-quality, impactful HR
scholarship.
