1. Self Employment
self-employment means to create a job or earn an opportunity for oneself by
own effort. At present unemployment is the most acute problem in
Bangladesh. We know Bangladesh is an overpopulated country so the
government alone can not provide enough job opportunities for the increased
population. Unemployment is a curse. In this situation, self-employment is the
only solution that can save us from this curse. We should realize that
comfortable jobs in office or bank for every citizen is never possible. There are
more people in our country than jobs. We should not depend on jobs only.
Educated youths should not remain idle after completing their studies. They
should remember that self-help is the best help. They can start a business or
farm after taking training on various skills of their interest. They can start an
online or local shop, create products or services. They can also engage
themselves in agricultural farming, poultry raising, fish cultivation, livestock
rearing, etc. The government and different NGOs are working to inspire young
people in self-employment. They also provide the youths with training and
loans on easy terms to start these jobs. So, we should make our employment
ourselves because a self-employed man can not only create a job for himself
but also give jobs to other people.
1. Ekushey Book Fair
Ekushey Book Fair is now a popular festival in the life of Bangladeshi
people. It is held only once a year. Ekushey Book Fair or Amor Ekushey
Grontho Mela (Book Fair of the Immortal 21st), commonly known as
Ekushey Boi Mela (Book Fair of the 21st), is the national book fair of
Bangladesh. February is the month of the Language Movement for
Bangladesh. 21st February is one of the red-letter days in our country.
Some of our youths sacrificed their lives in this month of 1952 to establish
our beloved mother tongue as the state language. This is the month of our
great sorrow, profound respect, and noble pride. 21 February is
International Mother Language Day. So, the whole nations observe this day
in different ways. Ekushey Book Fair is one of them. Ekushey Boi-Mela is
held in February on the premises of Bangla Academy. The purpose is to
hold the spirit of the “Ekushey” to the public. ‘Ekusher Boi-Mela’ is the
biggest book fair in the country. Leading publishers come forward with their
autographs. Cassettes on recitations and songs are sold. There are snacks
where young boys and girls sit gossiping. They make their purchases after
their choice. The yeard of the Bangla Academy takes a festive look. The
carefree youths wearing happy smiles on their faces enjoy the fair. It is one
of the great charms of our national life. It also plays an important role in our
economy.
2. Natural Disaster
For the past several decades, as human progress is moving on the path and for
the fulfillment of our desires and desires, as the natural resources are exploited
by natural means, the forests are being cut, the river drains are being stopped
That is, a network of tunnels is being laid inside the ground, due to which the
balance of nature is deteriorating and the events of a natural disaster can be
seen in the days to come.
Today the entire environment is polluted, for which we are responsible. Incidents
of natural disasters are increasing. Somewhere there is a flood due to sudden
excessive rainfall, then there is a drought, there is a situation of famine.
Somewhere there is a storm, then somewhere there is a tsunami and
Somewhere the whole mountain shines.
Man is just a straw in the face of a natural disaster when floods occur, big
skyscrapers collapse. Large airplanes flying in our sky, fly like mosquitoes in front
of the storm.
Who can forget the recent natural disaster in Uttarakhand where entire
mountains started to crack, the river drains had reached Bihar in terrible
condition. Hundreds of vehicles had washed away in the river drains, according
to thousands of people died, all roads were completely closed. It was a tragedy.
4. Internet
Internet is technically defined as a global computer network providing various
information and communication facilities, consisting of interconnected networks
using standardized communication protocols. You can access any information of
the world that includes the latest discoveries to the earth’s formation.
Hence it provides information from any corner of the world. It saves time and
effort for the person as it takes plenty of time to get information. Internet is a
network of networks that connects devices all over the world. Through this, we
can store information, share information, and secure information.
We can connect people from anywhere globally through social media platforms,
which do not expand our friend zone but are also used to spread our culture and
share our views. This gives users many facilities such as email, surfing,
accessing the web portals, video chat; even it can be used for online payment
nowadays.
Almost every sector is using the Internet, and everyone is using it for various
purposes. The Internet can also be used for entertainment purposes. We can
listen to music, watch videos and play games.
The Internet has its disadvantages as the Internet facilities attract many students,
and they use wrong websites, download corrupt resources, which can even hack
their system or may contain severe bugs.
Many countries like North Korea, Myanmar, etc., banned the use of the
Internet. To avoid these consequences, parents should guide the children to use
the Internet properly by following the protocols and allowing their wards to use
the Internet in their surveillance. Avoid downloading files from unknown and
untrusted sites and limit the use of the Internet.
5. Discipline
Discipline is an essential part of human life, a human being has to follow
discipline in every area of his life, whether it is school, playground, home, then
outside the house, all these places must follow the Discipline. Does matter. The
particle of the world is tied in the formula of particle discipline. Progress can be
made only by the following discipline. A person who follows discipline properly
moves on the path of success without hindrance and the violator of discipline
always goes on the path of destruction, hence the second name of discipline is
called life. It is the bridge that takes us to the path of success.
It is difficult to walk on discipline, but the fruit obtained after walking on it is very
tasty. The discipline is the door that helps us to touch the sky’s sky, as a kite
cannot fly in the sky without a door, in the same way, we can never succeed
without it.
6. Freedom of Press
Freedom of the press means to speak about all concerned. Even a general
citizen can enjoy this freedom. He may express his opinions and constructive
ideas through the newspaper. Freedom of the press does not mean freedom to
the news media. It means freedom of all sorts of opinions and writings from all
corners. The freedom of the press is undervalued books written on religion,
politics, sex, etc. may likely be prescribed. Personal art, doctrines, isms are not
subject to any moral or immoral barrier. If this happens to them, they will remain
at the bottom of people’s oblivion. Real freedom of the press can exist only where
free people can function freely in a free democracy. It is a saved right that should
zealously be promoted. The Government owes it to itself to guarantee it from all
arbitrary interferences.
Editors owe it to the public to maintain an honest attitude in favor of the people
against the party or class interest. In an enriched democratic govt. a newspaper
is widely free like a flying bird in the sky to express and spread public opinion.
Freedom of the press should be a valued privilege. The govt. should zealously
come forward to encourage the newspaper to publish news and views in a free
and fair way against any party and class interests.
7. Human Resources In BD
The personnel of a business or organization is regarded as a significant asset in
terms of skills and abilities. Human Resource Development (HRD) in Bangladesh
is a promising and challenging task. She is blessed with an abundance of human
beings but human resources. The untrained and unprocessed human beings who
can foster dreams come true remain poorly addressed. This untapped diverse
resource is least explored for planned growth and development. Her promising
potentials are recently marked by the graduation of the Lower Middle Income
Country of Bangladesh. All the wheels of developing mechanisms of human
resources are piecemeal and lack synchronization. Development and HRD are
complementarily interlinked. Bangladesh is suffering from a huge skill shortage
and professional experts in almost all fields. Progress will be faster and
attainment will be guaranteed if HRD is planned and executed in a timed plan.
Globalization has opened the global gates of opportunities. This research
attempts to find out the weaknesses and vulnerabilities of our complimentary
components of HRD to suggest the remedies for healthy growth and early
development of Bangladesh. Constitutional and policy obligations, current
conflicting streams and complex structures, analytical details of various indexes
and status with general and technical education followed by regional and Asian
education systems, population status accompanied by marriage and fertility
including public health have been studied and analyzed. State of employment
and unemployment for both males and females at home and abroad with
comparative earnings are focused. The globalization and development strategy
of Bangladesh along with the conceptual HRD planning and planning authority of
various countries are put in for comparative understanding on the issue. It has
also included case studies on the domestic and overseas labor skills of
Bangladesh. All the complementary components of human resource
development are studied to find the appropriate needs of HRD. The constitutional
obligations, the dominance of general education, poor presence of technical
education, weak infrastructures, poor population control, expensive health
services, increasing migration to industrial and service sectors, poorly synergized
education, and employment prospect including lack of central HRD planning are
the major challenges. To meet these challenges, the study recommends creating
a creative and competitive human resource base by developing institutional
synergy to promote HRD and stimulating a culture of useful education and
training to enhance the employability of labor forces within and beyond
Bangladesh aimed to increase productivity.
8. Human Rights
A right that is believed to belong to every person is called Human Rights. Human
right is the basic right that a person should enjoy from birth until death. This is
regardless of where a person is born from, what he/she believes, and what
social status he holds. This right can never be taken away from him.
Sometimes, he may be restricted if he breaks the law.
Human rights include freedom of expression, freedom of speech, right to
education right to basic needs. One should enjoy the freedom to express
one’s views and ideas without interruption from others. He has the right to be
safe in his country and the government should ensure his protection. Citizens
of a country should enjoy full freedom and have the right to go to another
country and return whenever they wish. Everyone should act in the spirit of
brotherhood.
The condition of human rights in Bangladesh is not up to the mark. Especially
the children and women are deprived of enjoying human rights. Even now the
rural women are neglected and bereft of fundamental rights. The street
children are still deprived of all sorts of human rights. So to improve their
condition, people from all walks of life should come forward and extend their
helping hand and the government must take steps as well. However, there are
some rights of freedom but these rights of freedom are not without any
responsibility. Every country and every society must protect human rights for
its safety, security, peace, and prosperity
9. Civic Consciousness
Civic consciousness is the recognition that each citizen is for the society and
the genuine interests of the society are the interests of the citizen. People who
have civic consciousness will always be ready to work for society. Civic
consciousness influences the progress of the state and society. In the
absence of civic consciousness, human beings will become selfish and all the
activities will be for their achievements. For ensuring the welfare of all and the
reconstruction of society, civic consciousness has to be developed. The basis
of civic consciousness is the recognition that if the activities of each individual
are for the well-being of society, social problems can be solved. The formation
of civic consciousness is determined by life situations and experiences. The
important factors which determine civic consciousness are family, education,
social system, associations, and political system. These factors mold an
individual's thoughts and actions. The basis of all activities is morality. Morality
means the ability to recognize virtues from vices, accept virtues, and perform
duties with utmost responsibility. The creation of moral consciousness in all
walks of life is the most effective way to foster civic consciousness. People
have public interests and private interests. The challenge faced by civic
consciousness is the mindset to do anything for the sake of one's interest by
negating public interest. We can overcome this challenge in the following
manner:
i) By evaluating one's activities critically.
ii) Work in one's interest without going against the public interest.
iii) One should change oneself to expect the same from others.
iv) Rights and duties should be balanced.
v) Individuals should act democratically and be tolerant towards each other.
There were some people like A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Mother Teresa who had
ideal civic consciousness and who contributed greatly to society. While
working in different areas, they exhibited humanity, love towards fellow beings,
and duty consciousness. They gave the message that everyone should work
in their areas of activity with generosity and dedication. Participating in organic
farming, philanthropic activities indicates one's civic consciousness.
10. Women Trafficking
Human trafficking is considered to be one of the biggest crimes in
today 's world. It exists today even though people don’t realize it. One
issue that really stuck out to me when taking this course is the issue of
human trafficking and how it has affected the world. You may ask, why
does this matter so much to you? Well, this is an underlining problem
that nobody seems to take seriously. Human trafficking has affected
several women, men, and even children. This brings them to serve
unwillingly and even to prostitution too. There are even young girls
that are forced to take part in human trafficking activities. It is referred
to as the child prostitution business, which is yet another major crime
found in today's world. This is taking out their basic rights, their
birthrights also. On the other hand, If we want to find the reason
behind this, this link directly connects to their financial status. They are
here because of poverty. They were very badly in need of money,
somebody showed them or flattered or promised them money for the
trade-off work. They even don't know where they are and they are
tortured, slaughtered. Government should take necessary steps to
solve this problem to save and protect women and children.
