Lorenzo "Erin" Reyes Tañada III (born August 16, 1963) is a Filipino lawyer, broadcaster, and human
rights and labor rights advocate who has served as a Deputy Speaker of the Philippine House of
Representatives.[1] A member of the Liberal Party, he was first elected to the House of Representatives in
2004, as the representative of the 4th District of Quezon Province.
He is particularly known for being the author the "Anti-Torture Act of 2009" (Republic Act No. 9749), the
"Philippine Act on Crimes Against International Humanitarian Law, Genocide, and Other Crimes Against
Humanity" (Republic Act No. 9851), and the "Renewable Energy Act of 2008" (RA 9513) as well as for his
strong advocacy of the Freedom of Information Bill.[1]

Maria Lourdes "Meilou" Aranal Sereno (Tagalog: [sɛˈrɛnɔ], born Maria Lourdes Punzalan Aranal; July 2,
1960) is a Filipina lawyer and judge who served as de facto Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the
Republic of the Philippines[2] from 2012 until her removal in 2018. Appointed as Associate
Justice by President Benigno Aquino III in August 2010, she became the second youngest person (at the
age of 52) to assume the post of Chief Justice in August 2012. She was removed from office by way of an
8–6 decision by the Supreme Court over a quo warranto petition, rendering her appointment as Chief
Justice null and void.[1] Many supporters as well as legal experts regard the removal of Sereno, who
opposed President Duterte's martial law and other executive actions, as politically motivated.

a Filipino politician who is the 28th Senate President of the Philippines from 2016 to 2018.[2][3] He is also
the current president of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP–Laban). As the eldest son
and third child of the former Senate President Aquilino Pimentel, Jr., he is the first child of a previous
Senate president to hold the post.[4]He was sworn in on August 12, 2011 and proclaimed as the 12th
winning senator in the 2007 election.[5

Senate election in 2016.

Esmael "Toto" Mangudadatu (or Ismael "Toto" Mangudadatu) (born August 15, 1968) is the
Governor of Maguindanao, in the Philippines. Mangudadatu was elected for governor
of Maguindanao after defeating his closest rival, Ombra Sinsuat by a margin of 12,705 votes. The
race came to international attention after the 2009 Maguindanao massacre during which his wife,
sisters, aides, and lawyers, plus several journalists were kidnapped and murdered. Andal Ampatuan
Jr., against whom Mangudadatu was running for governor, was charged with the murders. [2] He
denies that he was involved.
