‫‪Hadith No: 1067‬‬

‫َحَّدَثَنا ُمَح َّمُد ْبُن َبَّش اٍر‪َ ،‬قاَل َحَّدَثَنا ُغْنَدٌر ‪َ ،‬قاَل َحَّدَثَنا ُش ْعَبُة‪َ ،‬عْن‬
‫َأِبي ِإْس َح اَق‪َ ،‬قاَل َس ِمْعُت اَألْس َوَد‪َ ،‬عْن َعْبِد الَّلِه ـ رضى الله‬
‫عنه ـ َقاَل َقَر َأ الَّنِبُّي صلى الله عليه وسلم الَّنْج َم ِبَمَّكَة‬
‫َأ‬ ‫َأ‬
‫َفَس َجَد ِفيَها‪َ ،‬وَس َجَد َمْن َمَعُه‪َ ،‬غْيَر َش ْيٍخ َخ َذ َكًّفا ِمْن َح ًصى ْو‬
‫ُتَر اٍب َفَر َفَعُه ِإَلى َجْبَهِتِه َوَقاَل َيْكِفيِني َهَذا‪َ .‬فَر َأْيُتُه َبْعَد َذِلَك‬
‫ُقِتَل َكاِفًر ا‪.‬‬
‫‪Narrated `Abdullah bin Mas`ud:‬‬
‫‪) recited Suratan-Najm (103) at Mecca‬ﷺ( ‪The Prophet‬‬
‫‪and prostrated while reciting it and those who were with‬‬
‫‪him did the same except an old man who took a handful‬‬
‫‪of small stones or earth and lifted it to his forehead and‬‬
‫‪said, "This is sufficient for me." Later on, I saw him killed‬‬
‫‪as a non-believer.‬‬
‫‪Hadith No: 1068‬‬
‫َحَّدَثَنا ُمَح َّمُد ْبُن ُيوُس َف ‪َ ،‬حَّدَثَنا ُس ْفَياُن ‪َ ،‬عْن َس ْعِد ْبِن ِإْبَر اِهيَم ‪،‬‬
‫َأ‬
‫َعْن َعْبِد الَّر ْح َمِن ‪َ ،‬عْن ِبي ُهَر ْيَر َة ـ رضى الله عنه ـ َقاَل َكاَن‬
‫ُأ‬
‫الَّنِبُّي صلى الله عليه وسلم َيْقَر ِفي اْلُج ُمَعِة ِفي َصَالِة اْلَفْج ِر‬
‫{الم * َتْنِزيُل } الَّس ْجَدَة َو{َهْل َأَتى َعَلى اِإلْنَس اِن }‬
‫‪Narrated Abu Huraira:‬‬
On Fridays the Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬used to recite Alif Lam Mim
Tanzil-As-Sajda (in the first rak`a) and Hal ata `alal-
insani i.e. Surat ad-Dahr (LXXVI) (in the second rak`a),
in the Fajr prayer.
Hadith No: 1069
‫َأ‬
‫ َعْن‬،‫ َقاَال َحَّدَثَنا َح َّماٌد‬، ‫ َو ُبو الُّنْعَماِن‬، ‫َحَّدَثَنا ُس َلْيَماُن ْبُن َح ْرٍب‬
‫ َعِن اْبِن َعَّباٍس ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ َقاَل‬،‫ َعْن ِع ْكِرَمَة‬، ‫َأُّيوَب‬
‫ َوَقْد َر َأْيُت الَّنِبَّي صلى الله‬،‫{ص} َلْيَس ِمْن َعَز اِئِم الُّس ُج وِد‬
.‫عليه وسلم َيْس ُجُد ِفيَها‬
Narrated Ibn `Abbas:
The prostration of Sa`d is not a compulsory one but I saw
the Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬prostrating while reciting it.
Hadith No: 1070
‫ َع َأ‬،‫ َقاَل َث ا ُش ُة‬، ‫ُع‬
‫ِن‬‫َع‬ ، ‫َق‬ ‫ا‬ ‫َح‬ ‫ْس‬ ‫ِإ‬ ‫ي‬ ‫ِب‬ ‫ْن‬ ‫َحَّد َن ْعَب‬ ‫َحَّدَثَنا َح ْفُص ْبُن َمَر‬
‫ َعْن َعْبِد الَّلِه ـ رضى الله عنه ـ َأَّن الَّنِبَّي صلى الله‬،‫اَألْس َوِد‬
‫َأ‬ ‫َأ‬
‫ َفَما َبِقَي َحٌد ِمَن‬،‫عليه وسلم َقَر ُس وَر َة الَّنْج ِم َفَس َجَد ِبَها‬
‫َأ‬ ‫َأ‬
‫ َف َخ َذ َر ُج ٌل ِمَن اْلَقْوِم َكًّفا ِمْن َح ًصى ْو‬،‫اْلَقْوِم ِإَّال َس َجَد‬
‫َأ‬
‫ َفَلَقْد َر ْيُتُه َبْعُد‬،‫ َفَر َفَعُه ِإَلى َوْج ِهِه َوَقاَل َيْكِفيِني َهَذا‬، ‫ُتَر اٍب‬
.‫ُقِتَل َكاِفًر ا‬
Narrated `Abdullah bin Mas`ud:
The Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬recited Surat-an-Najm (53) and
prostrated while reciting it and all the people prostrated
and a man amongst the people took a handful of stones or
‫‪earth and raised it to his face and said, "This is sufficient‬‬
‫"‪for me. Later on I saw him killed as a non-believer.‬‬
‫‪Hadith No: 1071‬‬
‫‪َ ،‬قاَل َث ا َع اْل ا ‪َ ،‬قاَل َث ا َأ‬
‫ْن‬ ‫َع‬ ‫‪،‬‬ ‫ُب‬ ‫و‬‫ُّي‬ ‫َحَّد َن‬ ‫َحَّد َن ْبُد َو ِرِث‬ ‫َحَّدَثَنا ُمَس َّدٌد‬
‫ِع ْكِرَمَة‪َ ،‬عِن اْبِن َعَّباٍس ـ رضى الله عنهما َأَّن الَّنِبَّي صلى‬
‫الله عليه وسلم َس َجَد ِبالَّنْج ِم َوَس َجَد َمَعُه اْلُمْس ِلُموَن‬
‫َواْلُمْش ِرُكوَن َواْلِج ُّن َواِإلْنُس ‪َ .‬وَرَواُه اْبُن َطْهَماَن َعْن َأُّيوَب ‪.‬‬
‫‪Narrated Ibn `Abbas:‬‬
‫‪) I prostrated while reciting An-Najm and‬ﷺ( ‪The Prophet‬‬
‫‪with him prostrated the Muslims, the pagans, the jinns,‬‬
‫‪and all human beings.‬‬
‫‪Hadith No: 1072‬‬

‫َّر ِع‬‫ال‬ ‫و‬ ‫ُب‬ ‫َحَّدَثَنا ُس َلْيَماُن ْبُن َد ُوَد‬
‫َأ‬
‫َجْعَفٍر‪َ ،‬قاَل ْخ َبَر َنا َيِزيُد ْبُن ُخ َصْيَفَة‪َ ،‬عِن اْبِن ُقَس ْيٍط ‪َ ،‬عْن‬
‫َعَطاِء ْبِن َيَس اٍر‪َ ،‬أَّنُه َأْخ َبَر ُه‪َ ،‬أَّنُه‪َ ،‬س َأَل َزْيَد ْبَن َثاِبٍت ـ رضى‬
‫الله عنه ـ َفَز َعَم َأَّنُه َقَر َأ َعَلى الَّنِبِّي صلى الله عليه وسلم‬
‫{َوالَّنْج ِم} َفَلْم َيْس ُجْد ِفيَها‪.‬‬
‫‪Narrated `Ata' bin Yasar:‬‬
‫‪I asked Zaid bin Thabit about prostration on which he said‬‬
‫‪that he had recited An-Najm before the Prophet, yet he‬‬
‫‪(the Prophet) had not performed a prostration.‬‬
‫‪Hadith No: 1073‬‬
‫َحَّدَثَنا آَدُم ْبُن َأِبي ِإَياٍس ‪َ ،‬قاَل َحَّدَثَنا اْبُن َأِبي ِذْئٍب ‪َ ،‬قاَل َحَّدَثَنا‬
‫َط‬ ‫َّل‬
‫َيِزيُد ْبُن َعْبِد ال ِه ْبِن ُقَس ْيٍط ‪َ ،‬عْن َع اِء ْبِن َيَس اٍر‪َ ،‬عْن َزْيِد ْبِن‬
 ‫َثاِبٍت ‪َ ،‬قاَل َقَر ْأُت َعَلى الَّنِبِّي صلى الله عليه وسلم {َوالَّنْج ِم}‬
‫َفَلْم َيْس ُجْد ِفيَها‪.‬‬
‫‪Narrated Zaid bin Thabit:‬‬
‫‪I recited An-Najm before the Prophet, yet he did not‬‬
‫‪perform a prostration.‬‬
‫‪Hadith No: 1074‬‬
‫َحَّدَثَنا ُمْس ِلٌم ‪َ ،‬وُمَعاُذ ْبُن َفَضاَلَة‪َ ،‬قاَال َأْخ َبَر َنا ِهَش اٌم ‪َ ،‬عْن َيْحَيى‪،‬‬
‫َع َأ ي َل َة‪َ ،‬قاَل َأ َأ ا ُه َة ـ رضى الله عنه ـ َق َأ‬
‫َر‬ ‫َر ْيُت َب َر ْيَر‬ ‫ْن ِب َس َم‬
‫{ِإَذا الَّسَماُء اْنَش َّقْت } َفَس َجَد ِبَها َفُقْلُت َيا َأَبا ُهَر ْيَر َة‪َ ،‬أَلْم َأَر َك‬
‫َأ‬
‫َتْس ُجُد َقاَل َلْو َلْم َر الَّنِبَّي صلى الله عليه وسلم َيْس ُجُد َلْم‬
‫َأْس ُجْد‪.‬‬
‫‪Narrated Abu Salma:‬‬
‫‪I saw Abu Huraira reciting Idha-Sama' un-Shaqqat and he‬‬
‫‪prostrated during its recitation. I asked Abu Huraira,‬‬
‫‪"Didn't I see you prostrating?" Abu Huraira said, "Had I‬‬
‫‪) prostrating, I would not have‬ﷺ( ‪not seen the Prophet‬‬
‫"‪prostrated.‬‬
‫‪Hadith No: 1075‬‬
‫َحَّدَثَنا ُمَس َّدٌد‪َ ،‬قاَل َحَّدَثَنا َيْحَيى‪َ ،‬عْن ُعَبْيِد الَّلِه‪َ ،‬قاَل َحَّدَثِني‬
‫َناِفٌع‪َ ،‬عِن اْبِن ُعَمَر ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ َقاَل َكاَن الَّنِبُّي صلى‬
‫ُأ‬
‫الله عليه وسلم َيْقَر َعَلْيَنا الُّس وَر َة ِفيَها الَّس ْجَدُة‪َ ،‬فَيْس ُجُد‬
‫َوَنْس ُجُد‪َ ،‬حَّتى َما َيِج ُد َأَحُدَنا َمْوِضَع َجْبَهِتِه‪.‬‬
‫‪Narrated Ibn `Umar:‬‬
‫‪) recited a Sura that contained the‬ﷺ( ‪When the Prophet‬‬
‫‪prostration he would prostrate and we would do the same‬‬
‫‪and some of us (because of the heavy rush) could not find‬‬
‫‪a place for prostration.‬‬
‫‪Hadith No: 1076‬‬
‫َحَّدَثَنا ِبْش ُر ْبُن آَدَم ‪َ ،‬قاَل َحَّدَثَنا َعِلُّي ْبُن ُمْس ِهٍر‪َ ،‬قاَل َأْخ َبَر َنا‬
‫ُعَبْيُد الَّلِه‪َ ،‬عْن َناِفٍع ‪َ ،‬عِن اْبِن ُعَمَر ‪َ ،‬قاَل َكاَن الَّنِبُّي صلى الله‬
‫ُأ‬
‫عليه وسلم َيْقَر الَّس ْجَدَة َوَنْح ُن ِع ْنَدُه َفَيْس ُجُد َوَنْس ُجُد َمَعُه‬
‫َفَنْزَدِح ُم َحَّتى َما َيِج ُد َأَحُدَنا ِلَجْبَهِتِه َمْوِضًعا َيْس ُجُد َعَلْيِه‪.‬‬
‫‪Narrated Ibn `Umar:‬‬
‫‪) recited Surat As-Sajda and we‬ﷺ( ‪When the Prophet‬‬
‫‪were with him, he would prostrate and we also would‬‬
‫‪prostrate with him and some of us (because of the heavy‬‬
‫‪rush) would not find a place (for our foreheads) to‬‬
‫‪prostrate on.‬‬
‫‪Hadith No: 1077‬‬

‫اْبَن ُج َر ْيٍج ‪ْ ،‬خ َبَر ُهْم َقاَل ْخ َبَر ِني ُبو َبْكِر ْبُن ِبي ُمَلْيَكَة‪َ ،‬عْن‬
‫َّل‬
‫ُعْثَماَن ْبِن َعْبِد الَّر ْح َمِن الَّتْيِمِّي ‪َ ،‬عْن َر ِبيَعَة ْبِن َعْبِد ال ِه ْبِن‬
‫اْلُهَدْيِر الَّتْيِمِّي ـ َقاَل َأُبو َبْكٍر َوَكاَن َر ِبيَعُة ِمْن ِخ َياِر الَّناِس َعَّما‬
‫َأ‬
‫َحَضَر َر ِبيَعُة ِمْن ُعَمَر ْبِن اْلَخ َّطاِب ـ رضى الله عنه ـ َقَر َيْوَم‬
‫اْلُج ُمَعِة َعَلى اْلِمْنَبِر ِبُس وَر ِة الَّنْح ِل َحَّتى ِإَذا َج اَء الَّس ْجَدَة َنَز َل‬
‫َفَس َجَد َوَس َجَد الَّناُس ‪َ ،‬حَّتى ِإَذا َكاَنِت اْلُج ُمَعُة اْلَقاِبَلُة َقَر َأ ِبَها‬
‫َأ‬
‫َحَّتى ِإَذا َج اَء الَّس ْجَدَة َقاَل َيا ُّيَها الَّناُس ِإَّنا َنُمُّر ِبالُّس ُج وِد َفَمْن‬
 ‫َأ‬
‫ َوَلْم َيْس ُجْد‬.‫ َوَمْن َلْم َيْس ُجْد َفَال ِإْثَم َعَلْيِه‬، ‫َس َجَد َفَقْد َصاَب‬
‫ َوَز اَد َناِفٌع َعِن اْبِن ُعَمَر ـ رضى الله‬.‫ُعَمُر ـ رضى الله عنه‬
.‫عنهما ِإَّن الَّلَه َلْم َيْفِرِض الُّس ُج وَد ِإَّال َأْن َنَش اَء‬
Narrated Rabi`a:
`Umar bin Al-Khattab recited Surat-an-Nahl on a Friday
on the pulpit and when he reached the verse of Sajda he
got down from the pulpit and prostrated and the people
also prostrated. The next Friday `Umar bin Al-Khattab
recited the same Sura and when he reached the verse of
Sajda he said, "O people! When we recite the verses of
Sajda (during the sermon) whoever prostrates does the
right thing, yet it is no sin for the one who does not
prostrate." And `Umar did not prostrate (that day). Added
Ibn `Umar "Allah has not made the prostration of
recitation compulsory but if we wish we can do it."
Hadith No: 1078
، ‫ َقاَل َس ِمْعُت َأِبي َقاَل‬، ‫ َقاَل َحَّدَثَنا ُمْعَتِمٌر‬،‫َحَّدَثَنا ُمَس َّدٌد‬
‫ َقاَل َصَّلْيُت َمَع َأِبي ُهَر ْيَر َة اْلَعَتَمَة‬، ‫ َعْن َأِبي َر اِفٍع‬، ‫َحَّدَثِني َبْكٌر‬
‫َفَقَر َأ {ِإَذا الَّسَماُء اْنَش َّقْت } َفَس َجَد َفُقْلُت َما َهِذِه َقاَل‬
‫َس َجْدُت ِبَها َخ ْلَف َأِبي اْلَقاِس ِم صلى الله عليه وسلم َفَال َأَز اُل‬
.‫َأْس ُجُد ِفيَها َحَّتى َأْلَقاُه‬
Narrated Abu Rafi`:
I offered the `Isha' prayer behind Abu Huraira and he
recited Idhas-Sama' Un-Shaqqat, and prostrated. I said,
"What is this?" Abu Huraira said, "I prostrated behind
Abul-Qasim and I will do the same till I meet him."
Hadith No: 1079
‫َّل‬ ‫ َقاَل َأ‬،‫َقُة‬
‫َع‬ ،
‫ْن ٍع ِن‬‫ِف‬ ‫ا‬‫َن‬ ‫َع‬ ،‫ِه‬ ‫ال‬ ‫ْيِد‬
‫َب‬‫ُع‬ ‫ْن‬‫َع‬ ،‫ى‬ ‫َيْحَي‬ ‫ا‬‫َن‬ ‫َر‬‫َب‬ ‫ْخ‬ ‫َحَّدَثَنا َصَد‬
‫اْبِن ُعَمَر ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ َقاَل َكاَن الَّنِبُّي صلى الله عليه‬
‫وسلم َيْقَر ُأ الُّس وَر َة اَّلِتي ِفيَها الَّس ْجَدُة َفَيْس ُجُد َوَنْس ُجُد َحَّتى‬
.‫َما َيِج ُد َأَحُدَنا َمَكاًنا ِلَمْوِضِع َجْبَهِتِه‬
Narrated Ibn `Umar.:
Whenever the Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬recited the Sura which
contained the prostration of recitation he used to prostrate
and then, we, too, would prostrate and some of us did not
find a place for prostration.
