Hadith No: 1080

،‫ َعْن َعاِصٍم‬،‫ َقاَل َحَّدَثَنا َأُبو َعَواَنَة‬، ‫َحَّدَثَنا ُموَس ى ْبُن ِإْسَماِع يَل‬
‫ َعِن اْبِن َعَّباٍس ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ‬،‫ َعْن ِع ْكِرَمَة‬، ‫َوُح َصْيٍن‬
، ‫َقاَل َأَقاَم الَّنِبُّي صلى الله عليه وسلم ِتْس َعَة َعَش َر َيْقُصُر‬
.‫ َوِإْن ِزْدَنا َأْتَمْمَنا‬،‫َفَنْح ُن ِإَذا َس اَفْر َنا ِتْس َعَة َعَش َر َقَصْر َنا‬
Narrated Ibn `Abbas:
The Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬once stayed for nineteen days and
prayed shortened prayers. So when we travel led (and
stayed) for nineteen days, we used to shorten the prayer
but if we traveled (and stayed) for a longer period we
used to offer the full prayer.
Hadith No: 1081
‫َأ‬
‫ َقاَل َحَّدَثَنا َيْحَيى ْبُن‬، ‫ َقاَل َحَّدَثَنا َعْبُد اْلَواِرِث‬،‫َحَّدَثَنا ُبو َمْعَمٍر‬
‫ َيُقوُل َخ َر ْجَنا َمَع الَّنِبِّي صلى‬،‫ َقاَل َس ِمْعُت َأَنًس ا‬،‫َأِبي ِإْس َح اَق‬
‫ِّل‬ ‫َل‬ ‫ْل‬
‫ َفَكاَن ُيَص ي َر ْكَعَتْيِن‬،‫الله عليه وسلم ِمَن ا َمِديَنِة ِإ ى َمَّكَة‬
‫ ُقْلُت َأَقْمُتْم ِبَمَّكَة َش ْيًئا َقاَل‬.‫َر ْكَعَتْيِن َحَّتى َر َجْعَنا ِإَلى اْلَمِديَنِة‬
.‫َأَقْمَنا ِبَها َعْش ًر ا‬
Narrated Yahya bin 'Is-haq:
I heard Anas saying, "We traveled with the Prophet (‫)ﷺ‬
from Medina to Mecca and offered two rak`at (for every
prayer) till we returned to Medina." I said, "Did you stay
‫‪for a while in Mecca?" He replied, "We stayed in Mecca‬‬
‫"‪for ten days.‬‬
‫‪Hadith No: 1082‬‬
‫َحَّدَثَنا ُمَس َّدٌد‪َ ،‬قاَل َحَّدَثَنا َيْحَيى‪َ ،‬عْن ُعَبْيِد الَّلِه‪َ ،‬قاَل َأْخ َبَر ِني‬
‫َناِفٌع‪َ ،‬عْن َعْبِد الَّلِه ـ رضى الله عنه ـ َقاَل َصَّلْيُت َمَع الَّنِبِّي‬
‫َأ‬
‫صلى الله عليه وسلم ِبِمًنى َر ْكَعَتْيِن ‪َ ،‬و ِبي َبْكٍر َوُعَمَر ‪َ ،‬وَمَع‬
‫ُعْثَماَن َصْدًر ا ِمْن ِإَماَر ِتِه ُثَّم َأَتَّمَها‪.‬‬
‫‪Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar:‬‬
‫‪I offered the prayer with the Prophet, Abu Bakr and‬‬
‫‪`Umar at Mina and it was of two rak`at. `Uthman in the‬‬
‫‪early days of his caliphate did the same, but later on he‬‬
‫‪started praying the full prayer.‬‬
‫‪Hadith No: 1083‬‬
‫َحَّدَثَنا َأُبو اْلَوِليِد‪َ ،‬قاَل َحَّدَثَنا ُش ْعَبُة‪َ ،‬أْنَبَأَنا َأُبو ِإْس َح اَق‪َ ،‬قاَل‬
‫َس ِمْعُت َح اِرَثَة ْبَن َوْهٍب ‪َ ،‬قاَل َصَّلى ِبَنا الَّنِبُّي صلى الله عليه‬
‫وسلم آَمَن َما َكاَن ِبِمًنى َر ْكَعَتْيِن ‪.‬‬
‫‪Narrated Haritha bin Wahab:‬‬
‫‪) I led us in the prayer at Mina during the‬ﷺ( ‪The Prophet‬‬
‫‪peace period by offering two rak`at.‬‬
‫‪Hadith No: 1084‬‬
‫َحَّدَثَنا ُقَتْيَبُة‪َ ،‬قاَل َحَّدَثَنا َعْبُد اْلَواِحِد‪َ ،‬عِن اَألْعَمِش ‪َ ،‬قاَل َحَّدَثَنا‬
‫ِإْبَر اِهيُم ‪َ ،‬قاَل َس ِمْعُت َعْبَد الَّر ْح َمِن ْبَن َيِزيَد‪َ ،‬يُقوُل َصَّلى ِبَنا‬
‫ُعْثَماُن ْبُن َعَّفاَن ـ رضى الله عنه ـ ِبِمًنى َأْر َبَع َر َكَعاٍت ‪َ ،‬فِقيَل‬
‫َذِلَك ِلَعْبِد الَّلِه ْبِن َمْس ُعوٍد ـ رضى الله عنه ـ َفاْس َتْر َجَع ُثَّم َقاَل‬
 ، ‫َصَّلْيُت َمَع َر ُس وِل الَّلِه صلى الله عليه وسلم ِبِمًنى َر ْكَعَتْيِن‬
‫َأ‬
‫ َوَصَّلْيُت‬، ‫َوَصَّلْيُت َمَع ِبي َبْكٍر ـ رضى الله عنه ـ ِبِمًنى َر ْكَعَتْيِن‬
‫ َفَلْيَت‬، ‫َمَع ُعَمَر ْبِن اْلَخ َّطاِب ـ رضى الله عنه ـ ِبِمًنى َر ْكَعَتْيِن‬
. ‫َح ِّظي ِمْن َأْر َبِع َر َكَعاٍت َر ْكَعَتاِن ُمَتَقَّبَلَتاِن‬
Narrated `Abdur Rahman bin Yazid:
We offered a four rak`at prayer at Mina behind Ibn `Affan
. `Abdullah bin Mas`ud was informed about it. He said
sadly, "Truly to Allah we belong and truly to Him we
shall return." And added, "I prayed two rak`at with
Allah's Messenger (‫ )ﷺ‬at Mina and similarly with Abu
Bakr and with `Umar (during their caliphates)." He
further said, "May I be lucky enough to have two of the
four rak`at accepted (by Allah)."
Hadith No: 1085
‫ َقاَل َحَّدَثَنا‬، ‫ َقاَل َحَّدَثَنا ُوَهْيٌب‬، ‫َحَّدَثَنا ُموَس ى ْبُن ِإْسَماِع يَل‬
‫ َعِن اْبِن َعَّباٍس ـ رضى الله‬،‫ َعْن َأِبي اْلَعاِلَيِة اْلَبَّر اِء‬، ‫َأُّيوُب‬
‫صلى الله عليه وسلم َأ‬
‫ِح‬‫ْب‬ ‫ُص‬‫ِل‬ ‫ُه‬‫ُب‬ ‫ا‬ ‫َح‬ ‫ْص‬ ‫َو‬ ‫عنهما ـ َقاَل َقِدَم الَّنِبُّي‬
‫َأ‬ ‫َأ‬
‫ َف َمَر ُهْم ْن َيْجَعُلوَها ُعْمَر ًة ِإَّال َمْن َمَعُه‬، ‫َر اِبَعٍة ُيَلُّبوَن ِباْلَحِّج‬
.‫ َتاَبَعُه َعَطاٌء َعْن َج اِبٍر‬.‫اْلَهْدُى‬
Narrated Ibn `Abbas:
The Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬and his companions reached Mecca in
the morning of the 4th Dhul-Hijja reciting Talbiya (O
Allah! We are obedient to your orders, we respond 4 to
your call) . . . intending to perform Hajj. The Prophet (‫)ﷺ‬
ordered his companions to assume the lhram for Umra
‫)‪instead of Hajj, excepting those who had Hadi (sacrifice‬‬
‫‪with them.‬‬
‫‪Hadith No: 1086‬‬
‫َحَّدَثَنا ِإْس َح اُق ْبُن ِإْبَر اِهيَم اْلَحْنَظِلُّي ‪َ ،‬قاَل ُقْلُت َألِبي ُأَس اَمَة‬
‫َحَّدَثُكْم ُعَبْيُد الَّلِه‪َ ،‬عْن َناِفٍع ‪َ ،‬عِن اْبِن ُعَمَر ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ‬
‫َأَّن الَّنِبَّي صلى الله عليه وسلم َقاَل " َال ُتَس اِفِر اْلَمْر َأُة َثَالَثَة‬
‫َأَّياٍم ِإَّال َمَع ِذي َمْح َر ٍم "‪.‬‬
‫‪Narrated Ibn `Umar:‬‬
‫‪) said, "A woman should not travel for‬ﷺ( ‪The Prophet‬‬
‫‪more than three days except with a Dhi-Mahram (i.e. a‬‬
‫‪male with whom she cannot marry at all, e.g. her brother,‬‬
‫")‪father, grandfather, etc.) or her own husband.‬‬
‫‪Hadith No: 1087‬‬
‫َّل‬
‫َحَّدَثَنا ُمَس َّدٌد‪َ ،‬قاَل َحَّدَثَنا َيْحَيى‪َ ،‬عْن ُعَبْيِد ال ِه‪َ ،‬عْن َناِفٍع ‪َ ،‬عِن‬
‫اْبِن ُعَمَر ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ َعِن الَّنِبِّي صلى الله عليه‬
‫َأ‬
‫وسلم َقاَل " َال ُتَس اِفِر اْلَمْر ُة َثَالًثا ِإَّال َمَع ِذي َمْح َر ٍم "‪َ .‬تاَبَعُه‬
‫َأ‬
‫ْح َمُد َعِن اْبِن اْلُمَباَر ِك َعْن ُعَبْيِد الَّلِه َعْن َناِفٍع َعِن اْبِن ُعَمَر‬
‫َعِن الَّنِبِّي صلى الله عليه وسلم‪.‬‬
‫‪Narrated Ibn `Umar:‬‬
‫‪) said, "A woman should not travel for‬ﷺ( ‪The Prophet‬‬

‫‪Hadith No: 1088‬‬
‫َأ‬
‫َحَّدَثَنا آَدُم ‪َ ،‬قاَل َحَّدَثَنا اْبُن ِبي ِذْئٍب ‪َ ،‬قاَل َحَّدَثَنا َس ِعيٌد‬
‫اْلَمْقُبِرُّي‪َ ،‬عْن َأِبيِه‪َ ،‬عْن َأِبي ُهَر ْيَر َة ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ َقاَل‬
 ‫َأ‬
‫َقاَل الَّنِبُّي صلى الله عليه وسلم " َال َيِح ُّل ِالْمَر ٍة ُتْؤِمُن ِبالَّلِه‬
‫َواْلَيْوِم اآلِخ ِر َأْن ُتَس اِفَر َمِس يَر َة َيْوٍم َوَلْيَلٍة َلْيَس َمَعَها ُح ْر َمٌة "‪.‬‬
‫َتاَبَعُه َيْحَيى ْبُن َأِبي َكِثيٍر َوُس َهْيٌل َوَماِلٌك َعِن اْلَمْقُبِرِّي َعْن َأِبي‬
‫ُهَر ْيَر َة ـ رضى الله عنه‪.‬‬
‫‪Narrated Abu Huraira:‬‬
‫‪The Prophet (p.b.u.h) said, "It is not permissible for a‬‬
‫‪woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to travel‬‬
‫"‪for one day and night except with a Mahram.‬‬
‫‪Hadith No: 1089‬‬
‫َحَّدَثَنا َأُبو ُنَعْيٍم‪َ ،‬قاَل َحَّدَثَنا ُس ْفَياُن ‪َ ،‬عْن ُمَح َّمِد ْبِن اْلُمْنَكِدِر‪،‬‬
‫َأ‬
‫َوِإْبَر اِهيَم ْبِن َمْيَس َر َة‪َ ،‬عْن َنٍس ـ رضى الله عنه ـ َقاَل َصَّلْيُت‬
‫الُّظْهَر َمَع الَّنِبِّي صلى الله عليه وسلم ِباْلَمِديَنِة َأْر َبًعا‪َ ،‬وِبِذي‬
‫اْلُح َلْيَفِة َر ْكَعَتْيِن ‪.‬‬
‫‪Narrated Anas bin Malik:‬‬
‫‪offered four rak`at of Zuhr prayer with the Prophet‬‬
‫‪(p.b.u.h) at Medina and two rak`at at Dhul-Hulaifa. (i.e.‬‬
‫‪shortened the `Asr prayer).‬‬
‫‪Hadith No: 1090‬‬
‫َحَّدَثَنا َعْبُد الَّلِه ْبُن ُمَح َّمٍد‪َ ،‬قاَل َحَّدَثَنا ُس ْفَياُن ‪َ ،‬عِن الُّز ْهِرِّي‪،‬‬
‫َعْن ُعْرَوَة‪َ ،‬عْن َعاِئَش َة ـ رضى الله عنها ـ َقاَلِت الَّصَالُة َأَّوُل‬
‫ُأ‬
‫َما ُفِرَضْت َر ْكَعَتْيِن َف ِقَّر ْت َصَالُة الَّس َفِر‪َ ،‬وُأِتَّمْت َصَالُة‬
‫اْلَحَضِر‪َ .‬قاَل الُّز ْهِرُّي َفُقْلُت ِلُعْرَوَة َما َباُل َعاِئَش َة ُتِتُّم َقاَل‬
‫َتَأَّوَلْت َما َتَأَّوَل ُعْثَماُن ‪.‬‬
‫‪Narrated `Aisha:‬‬
‫‪"When the prayers were first enjoined they were of two‬‬
‫‪rak`at each. Later the prayer in a journey was kept as it‬‬
‫"‪was but the prayers for non-travelers were completed.‬‬
‫‪Az-Zuhri said, "I asked `Urwa what made Aisha pray the‬‬
‫‪full prayers (in journey)." He replied, "She did the same‬‬
‫"‪as `Uthman did.‬‬
‫‪Hadith No: 1091‬‬
‫َحَّدَثَنا َأُبو اْلَيَماِن ‪َ ،‬قاَل َأْخ َبَر َنا ُش َعْيٌب ‪َ ،‬عِن الُّز ْهِرِّي‪َ ،‬قاَل‬
‫َأْخ َبَر ِني َس اِلٌم ‪َ ،‬عْن َعْبِد الَّلِه ْبِن ُعَمَر ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ َقاَل‬
‫َر َأْيُت َر ُس وَل الَّلِه صلى الله عليه وسلم ِإَذا َأْعَج َلُه الَّس ْيُر ِفي‬
‫الَّس َفِر ُيَؤِّخ ُر اْلَمْغِرَب َحَّتى َيْج َمَع َبْيَنَها َوَبْيَن اْلِعَش اِء‪َ .‬قاَل‬
‫َس اِلٌم َوَكاَن َعْبُد الَّلِه َيْفَعُلُه ِإَذا َأْعَج َلُه الَّس ْيُر ‪َ .‬وَز اَد الَّلْيُث َقاَل‬
‫َحَّدَثِني ُيوُنُس ‪َ ،‬عِن اْبِن ِش َهاٍب ‪َ ،‬قاَل َس اِلٌم َكاَن اْبُن ُعَمَر ـ‬
‫رضى الله عنهما ـ َيْج َمُع َبْيَن اْلَمْغِرِب َواْلِعَش اِء ِباْلُمْزَدِلَفِة‪.‬‬
‫َقاَل َس اِلٌم َوَأَّخ َر اْبُن ُعَمَر اْلَمْغِرَب ‪َ ،‬وَكاَن اْس ُتْصِرَخ َعَلى‬
‫اْمَر َأِتِه َصِفَّيَة ِبْنِت َأِبي ُعَبْيٍد َفُقْلُت َلُه الَّصَالُة‪َ .‬فَقاَل ِس ْر ‪.‬‬
‫َفُقْلُت الَّصَالُة‪َ .‬فَقاَل ِس ْر ‪َ .‬حَّتى َس اَر ِميَلْيِن َأْو َثَالَثًة ُثَّم َنَز َل‬
‫َفَصَّلى ُثَّم َقاَل َهَكَذا َر َأْيُت الَّنِبَّي صلى الله عليه وسلم ُيَصِّلي‬
‫ِإَذا َأْعَج َلُه الَّس ْيُر ‪َ .‬وَقاَل َعْبُد الَّلِه َر َأْيُت الَّنِبَّي صلى الله عليه‬
‫َأ‬
‫وسلم ِإَذا ْعَج َلُه الَّس ْيُر ُيَؤِّخ ُر اْلَمْغِرَب ‪َ ،‬فُيَصِّليَها َثَالًثا ُثَّم‬
‫ُيَس ِّلُم ‪ُ ،‬ثَّم َقَّلَما َيْلَبُث َحَّتى ُيِقيَم اْلِعَش اَء َفُيَصِّلَيَها َر ْكَعَتْيِن ُثَّم‬
‫ُيَس ِّلُم ‪َ ،‬وَال ُيَس ِّبُح َبْعَد اْلِعَش اِء َحَّتى َيُقوَم ِمْن َج ْوِف الَّلْيِل ‪.‬‬
Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar:
"I saw Allah's Messenger (‫ )ﷺ‬delaying the Maghrib
prayer till he offered it along with the `Isha' prayer
whenever he was in a hurry during the journey." Salim
narrated, "Ibn `Umar used to do the same whenever he
was in a hurry during the journey." And Salim added,
"Ibn `Umar used to pray the Maghrib and `Isha' prayers
together in Al-Muzdalifa." Salim said, "Ibn `Umar
delayed the Maghrib prayer because at that time he heard
the news of the death of his wife Safiya bint Abi `Ubaid. I
said to him, 'The prayer (is due).' He said, 'Go on.' Again I
said, 'The prayer (is due).' He said, 'Go on,' till we
covered two or three miles. Then he got down, prayed and
said, 'I saw the Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬praying in this way,
whenever he was in a hurry during the journey.' `Abdullah
(bin `Umar) added, "Whenever the Prophet was in a
hurry, he used to delay the Maghrib prayer and then offer
three rak`at (of the Maghrib) and perform Taslim, and
after waiting for a short while, Iqama used to be
pronounced for the `Isha' prayer when he would offer two
rak`at and perform Taslim. He would never offer any
optional prayer till the middle of the night (when he used
to pray the Tahajjud)."
Hadith No: 1093
‫ َقاَل َحَّدَثَنا‬،‫ َقاَل َحَّدَثَنا َعْبُد اَألْعَلى‬،‫َحَّدَثَنا َعِلُّي ْبُن َعْبِد الَّلِه‬
‫ َقاَل‬،‫ َعْن َأِبيِه‬،‫ َعْن َعْبِد الَّلِه ْبِن َعاِمٍر‬،‫ َعِن الُّز ْهِرِّي‬، ‫َمْعَمٌر‬
 ‫َر َأْيُت الَّنِبَّي صلى الله عليه وسلم ُيَصِّلي َعَلى َر اِح َلِتِه َحْيُث‬
‫َتَوَّج َهْت ِبِه‪.‬‬
‫‪Narrated `Abdullah bin 'Amir from his father who said:‬‬
‫‪I saw the Prophet (p.b.u.h) offering the prayer on his‬‬
‫‪mount (Rahila) whatever direction it took.‬‬
‫‪Hadith No: 1094‬‬
‫َع‬ ‫ى‪،‬‬ ‫َع‬ ‫‪،‬‬ ‫ا‬ ‫َش‬ ‫ا‬ ‫َث‬ ‫َل‬ ‫ا‬‫َق‬ ‫‪،‬‬ ‫و‬ ‫َث ا َأ‬
‫ِن‬‫ْب‬ ‫ِد‬ ‫َّم‬ ‫َح‬ ‫ُم‬ ‫ْن‬ ‫َيْحَي‬ ‫ْن‬ ‫ُن‬ ‫َب‬
‫ْي‬ ‫َن‬ ‫َحَّد‬ ‫ٍم‬ ‫ُنَعْي‬ ‫ُب‬ ‫َحَّد َن‬
‫َعْبِد الَّر ْح َمِن ‪َ ،‬أَّن َج اِبَر ْبَن َعْبِد الَّلِه‪َ ،‬أْخ َبَر ُه َأَّن الَّنِبَّي صلى الله‬
‫عليه وسلم َكاَن ُيَصِّلي الَّتَطُّوَع َوْهَو َر اِكٌب ِفي َغْيِر اْلِقْبَلِة‪.‬‬
‫‪Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah:‬‬
‫‪) used to offer the Nawafil, while riding,‬ﷺ( ‪The Prophet‬‬
‫‪facing a direction other than that of the Qibla.‬‬
‫‪Hadith No: 1095‬‬
‫َحَّدَثَنا َعْبُد اَألْعَلى ْبُن َح َّماٍد‪َ ،‬قاَل َحَّدَثَنا ُوَهْيٌب ‪َ ،‬قاَل َحَّدَثَنا‬
‫ُموَس ى ْبُن ُعْقَبَة‪َ ،‬عْن َناِفٍع ‪َ ،‬قاَل َوَكاَن اْبُن ُعَمَر ـ رضى الله‬
‫عنهما ـ ُيَصِّلي َعَلى َر اِح َلِتِه َوُيوِتُر َعَلْيَها‪َ ،‬وُيْخ ِبُر َأَّن الَّنِبَّي صلى‬
‫الله عليه وسلم َكاَن َيْفَعُلُه‪.‬‬
‫‪Narrated Nafi`:‬‬
‫‪Ibn `Umar (while on a journey) used to offer the prayer‬‬
‫‪and the witr on his mount (Rahila). He said that the‬‬
‫‪) used to do so.‬ﷺ( ‪Prophet‬‬
‫‪Hadith No: 1096‬‬
‫َحَّدَثَنا ُموَس ى‪َ ،‬قاَل َحَّدَثَنا َعْبُد اْلَعِزيِز ْبُن ُمْس ِلٍم‪َ ،‬قاَل َحَّدَثَنا‬
‫َعْبُد الَّلِه ْبُن ِديَناٍر‪َ ،‬قاَل َكاَن َعْبُد الَّلِه ْبُن ُعَمَر ـ رضى الله‬
 ‫عنهما ـ ُيَصِّلي ِفي الَّس َفِر َعَلى َر اِح َلِتِه‪َ ،‬أْيَنَما َتَوَّج َهْت ُيوِمُئ ‪.‬‬
‫َوَذَكَر َعْبُد الَّلِه َأَّن الَّنِبَّي صلى الله عليه وسلم َكاَن َيْفَعُلُه‪.‬‬
‫‪Narrated `Abdullah bin Dinar:‬‬
‫‪On traveling, `Abdullah bin `Umar used to offer the‬‬
‫‪prayer on his Mount by signs whatever direction it took.‬‬
‫‪) used to do so.‬ﷺ( ‪`Abdullah said that the Prophet‬‬
‫‪Hadith No: 1097‬‬
‫َّل‬
‫َحَّدَثَنا َيْحَيى ْبُن ُبَكْيٍر‪َ ،‬قاَل َحَّدَثَنا ال ْيُث ‪َ ،‬عْن ُعَقْيٍل ‪َ ،‬عِن اْبِن‬
‫ِش َهاٍب ‪َ ،‬عْن َعْبِد الَّلِه ْبِن َعاِمِر ْبِن َر ِبيَعَة‪َ ،‬أَّن َعاِمَر ْبَن َر ِبيَعَة‪،‬‬
‫َأْخ َبَر ُه َقاَل َر َأْيُت َر ُس وَل الَّلِه صلى الله عليه وسلم َوْهَو َعَلى‬
‫َأ‬ ‫ْأ‬
‫الَّر اِح َلِة ُيَس ِّبُح ‪ُ ،‬يوِمُئ ِبَر ِسِه ِقَبَل ِّى َوْجٍه َتَوَّج َه‪َ ،‬وَلْم َيُكْن‬
‫َر ُس وُل الَّلِه صلى الله عليه وسلم َيْصَنُع َذِلَك ِفي الَّصَالِة‬
‫اْلَمْكُتوَبِة‪.‬‬
‫‪Narrated 'Amir bin Rabi`a:‬‬
‫‪) on his Mount praying Nawafil by‬ﷺ( ‪I saw the Prophet‬‬
‫‪nodding his head, whatever direction he faced, but Allah's‬‬
‫‪) never did the same in offering the‬ﷺ( ‪Messenger‬‬
‫‪compulsory prayers.‬‬
‫‪Hadith No: 1098‬‬

‫َوَقاَل الَّلْيُث َحَّدَثِني ُيوُنُس ‪َ ،‬عِن اْبِن ِش َهاٍب ‪َ ،‬قاَل َقاَل َس اِلٌم‬
‫َكاَن َعْبُد الَّلِه ُيَصِّلي َعَلى َداَّبِتِه ِمَن الَّلْيِل َوْهَو ُمَس اِفٌر ‪َ ،‬ما‬
‫ُيَباِلي َحْيُث َما َكاَن َوْج ُهُه‪َ .‬قاَل اْبُن ُعَمَر َوَكاَن َر ُس وُل الَّلِه‬
،‫صلى الله عليه وسلم ُيَس ِّبُح َعَلى الَّر اِح َلِة ِقَبَل َأِّى َوْجٍه َتَوَّج َه‬
.‫ َغْيَر َأَّنُه َال ُيَصِّلي َعَلْيَها اْلَمْكُتوَبَة‬،‫َوُيوِتُر َعَلْيَها‬
Narrated Salim: At night `Abdullah bin `Umar used to
offer the prayer on the back of his animal during the
journey and never cared about the direction he faced. Ibn
`Umar said, "Allah's Messenger (‫ )ﷺ‬used to offer the
optional prayer on the back of his Mount facing any
direction and also used to pray the witr on it but never
offered the compulsory prayer on it."
Hadith No: 1099

‫ َعْن‬،‫ َعْن َيْحَيى‬، ‫ َقاَل َحَّدَثَنا ِهَش اٌم‬،‫َحَّدَثَنا ُمَعاُذ ْبُن َفَضاَلَة‬

‫ َّن الَّنِبَّي صلى الله عليه وسلم َكاَن ُيَصِّلي َعَلى َر اِح َلِتِه‬،‫الَّلِه‬
‫َنْح َو اْلَمْش ِرِق َفِإَذا َأَر اَد َأْن ُيَصِّلَي اْلَمْكُتوَبَة َنَز َل َفاْس َتْقَبَل‬

Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah:
The Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬used to pray (the Nawafil) on his Mount
facing east and whenever he wanted to offer the
compulsory prayer, he used to dismount and face the
Qibla.
Hadith No: 1100

‫ َفَقاَل َلْوَال َأِّني َر َأْيُت َر ُس وَل الَّلِه صلى الله عليه‬.‫ِلَغْيِر اْلِقْبَلِة‬
‫ا َع َأ‬ ‫َع‬ ‫ا‬ ‫ َرَواُه اْبُن َط‬.‫وسلم َفَعَلُه َلْم َأْفَعْلُه‬
‫ِس‬ ‫َن‬ ‫ْن‬ ‫ٍج‬ ‫َحَّج‬ ‫ْن‬ ‫َن‬ ‫ْهَم‬
‫ْبِن ِس يِريَن َعْن َأَنٍس ـ رضى الله عنه ـ َعِن الَّنِبِّي صلى الله‬

Narrated Anas bin Seereen:
We went to receive Anas bin Malik when he returned
from Sham and met him at a place called 'Ainat- Tamr. I
saw him praying riding the donkey, with his face to this
direction, i.e. to the left of the Qibla. I said to him, "I have
seen you offering the prayer in a direction other than that
of the Qibla." He replied, "If I had not seen Allah's
Messenger (‫ )ﷺ‬doing it, I would not have done it."
Hadith No: 1101
‫ َقاَل َحَّدَثِني‬، ‫ َقاَل َحَّدَثِني اْبُن َوْهٍب‬، ‫َحَّدَثَنا َيْحَيى ْبُن ُس َلْيَماَن‬

‫ُعَمَر ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ َفَقاَل َصِح ْبُت الَّنِبَّي صلى الله عليه‬
‫َأ‬
‫ َوَقاَل الَّلُه َج َّل ِذْكُر ُه {َلَقْد‬،‫وسلم َفَلْم َر ُه ُيَس ِّبُح ِفي الَّس َفِر‬
.}‫َكاَن َلُكْم ِفي َر ُس وِل الَّلِه ُأْس َوٌة َح َس َنٌة‬
Narrated Hafs bin `Asim:
Ibn `Umar went on a journey and said, "I accompanied
the Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬and he did not offer optional prayers
during the journey, and Allah says: 'Verily! In Allah's
Messenger (‫ )ﷺ‬you have a good example to follow.' "

Hadith No: 1102

‫ َعْن ِع يَس ى ْبِن َح ْفِص ْبِن‬،‫ َقاَل َحَّدَثَنا َيْحَيى‬،‫َحَّدَثَنا ُمَس َّدٌد‬

‫ َيُقوُل َصِح ْبُت‬، ‫ َس ِمَع اْبَن ُعَمَر‬،‫ َقاَل َحَّدَثِني ِبي َّنُه‬،‫َعاِصٍم‬
‫َر ُس وَل الَّلِه صلى الله عليه وسلم َفَكاَن َال َيِزيُد ِفي الَّس َفِر‬
‫ َوَأَبا َبْكٍر َوُعَمَر َوُعْثَماَن َكَذِلَك ـ رضى الله‬، ‫َعَلى َر ْكَعَتْيِن‬
.‫عنهم‬
Narrated Ibn `Umar:
I accompanied Allah's Messenger (‫ )ﷺ‬and he never
offered more than two rak`at during the journey. Abu
Bakr, `Umar and `Uthman used to do the same.
Hadith No: 1103

‫ َعِن اْبِن‬،‫ َعْن َعْمٍرو‬،‫ َقاَل َحَّدَثَنا ُش ْعَبُة‬، ‫َحَّدَثَنا َح ْفُص ْبُن ُعَمَر‬
‫ َأَّنُه َر َأى الَّنِبَّي صلى الله عليه‬،‫ َقاَل َما َأْنَبَأ َأَحٌد‬،‫َأِبي َلْيَلى‬
‫وسلم َصَّلى الُّضَح ى َغْيُر ُأِّم َهاِنٍئ َذَكَر ْت َأَّن الَّنِبَّي صلى الله‬
‫ َفَصَّلى َثَماِن‬،‫عليه وسلم َيْوَم َفْتِح َمَّكَة اْغَتَس َل ِفي َبْيِتَها‬
‫ َغْيَر َأَّنُه ُيِتُّم الُّر ُكوَع‬،‫ َفَما َر َأْيُتُه َصَّلى َصَالًة َأَخَّف ِمْنَها‬، ‫َر َكَعاٍت‬
.‫َوالُّس ُج وَد‬
Narrated Ibn Abu Laila:
Only Um Hani told us that she had seen the Prophet
(p.b.u.h) offering the Duha (forenoon prayer). She said,
"On the day of the conquest of Mecca, the Prophet (‫)ﷺ‬
took a bath in my house and offered eight rak`at. I never
saw him praying such a light prayer but he performed
perfect prostration and bowing.
‫‪Hadith No: 1104‬‬

‫َوَقاَل الَّلْيُث َحَّدَثِني ُيوُنُس ‪َ ،‬عِن اْبِن ِش َهاٍب ‪َ ،‬قاَل َحَّدَثِني َعْبُد‬

‫وسلم َصَّلى الُّس ْبَح َة ِبالَّلْيِل ِفي الَّس َفِر َعَلى َظْهِر َر اِح َلِتِه‬
‫َحْيُث َتَوَّج َهْت ِبِه‪.‬‬
‫‪Narrated `Abdullah bin Amir that his father had told him‬‬
‫‪that he had seen the Prophet (p.b.u.h) praying Nawafil at‬‬
‫‪night on the back of his Mount on a journey, facing‬‬
‫‪whatever direction it took.‬‬
‫‪Hadith No: 1105‬‬
‫َحَّدَثَنا َأُبو اْلَيَماِن ‪َ ،‬قاَل َأْخ َبَر َنا ُش َعْيٌب ‪َ ،‬عِن الُّز ْهِرِّي‪َ ،‬قاَل‬
‫َأْخ َبَر ِني َس اِلُم ْبُن َعْبِد الَّلِه‪َ ،‬عِن اْبِن ُعَمَر ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ‬

‫َر اِح َلِتِه َحْيُث َكاَن َوْج ُهُه‪ُ ،‬يوِمُئ ِبَر ْأِسِه‪َ ،‬وَكاَن اْبُن ُعَمَر َيْفَعُلُه‪.‬‬
‫‪Narrated Salim bin `Abdullah:‬‬
‫‪) used to pray the‬ﷺ( ‪Ibn `Umar said, "Allah's Messenger‬‬
‫‪Nawafil on the back of his Mount (carriage) by signs‬‬
‫‪facing any direction." Ibn `Umar used to do the same.‬‬
‫‪Hadith No: 1106‬‬

‫َحَّدَثَنا َعِلُّي ْبُن َعْبِد الَّلِه‪َ ،‬قاَل َحَّدَثَنا ُس ْفَياُن ‪َ ،‬قاَل َس ِمْعُت‬
‫الُّز ْهِرَّي‪َ ،‬عْن َس اِلٍم‪َ ،‬عْن َأِبيِه‪َ ،‬قاَل َكاَن الَّنِبُّي صلى الله عليه‬
‫وسلم َيْج َمُع َبْيَن اْلَمْغِرِب َواْلِعَش اِء ِإَذا َجَّد ِبِه الَّس ْيُر ‪.‬‬
‫‪Narrated Salim's father:‬‬
The Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬used to offer the Maghrib and `Isha'
prayers together whenever he was in a hurry on a journey.
Hadith No: 1107

‫َقاَل َكاَن َر ُس وُل الَّلِه صلى الله عليه وسلم َيْج َمُع َبْيَن َصَالِة‬
‫ َوَيْج َمُع َبْيَن اْلَمْغِرِب‬،‫الُّظْهِر َواْلَعْصِر ِإَذا َكاَن َعَلى َظْهِر َس ْيٍر‬

Narrated Ibn `Abbas:
Allah's Messenger (‫ )ﷺ‬used to offer the Zuhr and `Asr
prayers together on journeys, and also used to offer the
Maghrib and `Isha' prayers together. Narrated Anas bin
Malik: The Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬used to offer the Maghrib and
the `Isha' prayers together on journeys.
Hadith No: 1108

Narrated Anas:
Allah's Messenger (‫ )ﷺ‬used to offer these two prayers
together on journeys i.e. the Maghrib and the `Isha'.
Hadith No: 1109
 ‫ َقاَل‬،‫ َعِن الُّز ْهِرِّي‬، ‫ َقاَل َأْخ َبَر َنا ُش َعْيٌب‬، ‫َحَّدَثَنا َأُبو اْلَيَماِن‬
‫ َعْن َعْبِد الَّلِه ْبِن ُعَمَر ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ َقاَل‬، ‫َأْخ َبَر ِني َس اِلٌم‬
‫َر َأْيُت َر ُس وَل الَّلِه صلى الله عليه وسلم ِإَذا َأْعَج َلُه الَّس ْيُر ِفي‬
.‫ َحَّتى َيْج َمَع َبْيَنَها َوَبْيَن اْلِعَش اِء‬، ‫الَّس َفِر ُيَؤِّخ ُر َصَالَة اْلَمْغِرِب‬
‫َأ‬
‫ َوُيِقيُم‬، ‫َقاَل َس اِلٌم َوَكاَن َعْبُد الَّلِه َيْفَعُلُه ِإَذا ْعَج َلُه الَّس ْيُر‬
‫ ُثَّم َقَّلَما َيْلَبُث َحَّتى ُيِقيَم‬، ‫ ُثَّم ُيَس ِّلُم‬،‫اْلَمْغِرَب َفُيَصِّليَها َثَالًثا‬
‫ َوَال‬،‫ ُثَّم ُيَس ِّلُم َوَال ُيَس ِّبُح َبْيَنَها ِبَر ْكَعٍة‬، ‫ َفُيَصِّليَها َر ْكَعَتْيِن‬،‫اْلِعَش اَء‬
. ‫َبْعَد اْلِعَش اِء ِبَس ْجَدٍة َحَّتى َيُقوَم ِمْن َج ْوِف الَّلْيِل‬
Narrated Az-Zuhri:
Salim told me, "`Abdullah bin `Umar said, 'I saw Allah's
Messenger (‫ )ﷺ‬delaying the Maghrib prayer till he
offered it along with the `Isha prayer whenever he was in
a hurry during the journey.' " Salim said, "Abdullah bin
`Umar used to do the same whenever he was in a hurry
during the journey. After making the call for Iqama, for
the Maghrib prayer he used to offer three rak`at and then
perform Taslim. After waiting for a short while, he would
pronounce the Iqama for the `Isha' prayer and offer two
rak`at and perform Taslim. He never prayed any Nawafil
in between the two prayers or after the `Isha' prayers till
he got up in the middle of the night (for Tahajjud
prayer)."
Hadith No: 1110

Narrated Anas bin Malik:
Whenever the Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬started a journey before noon,
he used to delay the Zuhr prayer till the time of `Asr and
then offer them together; and if the sun declined (at noon)
he used to offer the Zuhr prayer and then ride (for the
journey).
Hadith No: 1111

‫ َعْن‬،‫ َقاَل َحَّدَثَنا اْلُمَفَّضُل ْبُن َفَضاَلَة‬، ‫َحَّدَثَنا َح َّس اُن اْلَواِسِطُّي‬
‫ َعْن َأَنِس ْبِن َماِلٍك ـ رضى الله عنه ـ‬، ‫ َعِن اْبِن ِش َهاٍب‬، ‫ُعَقْيٍل‬
‫َقاَل َكاَن الَّنِبُّي صلى الله عليه وسلم ِإَذا اْر َتَح َل َقْبَل َأْن َتِزيَغ‬
‫ َوِإَذا‬،‫ ُثَّم َيْج َمُع َبْيَنُهَما‬،‫الَّش ْمُس َأَّخ َر الُّظْهَر ِإَلى َوْقِت اْلَعْصِر‬
. ‫َز اَغْت َصَّلى الُّظْهَر ُثَّم َر ِكَب‬
Narrated Anas bin Malik:

. ‫َقْبَل َأْن َيْر َتِح َل َصَّلى الُّظْهَر ُثَّم َر ِكَب‬
Narrated Anas bin Malik: Whenever the Prophet (‫)ﷺ‬

‫ َعْن َعاِئَش َة ـ رضى الله عنها ـ َأَّنَها َقاَلْت َصَّلى َر ُس وُل‬،‫َأِبيِه‬
‫ َفَصَّلى َج اِلًس ا‬، ‫الَّلِه صلى الله عليه وسلم ِفي َبْيِتِه َوْهَو َش اٍك‬
‫ َفَلَّما‬،‫ َفَأَش اَر ِإَلْيِهْم َأِن اْج ِلُس وا‬،‫َوَصَّلى َوَر اَءُه َقْوٌم ِقَياًما‬
،‫ َفِإَذا َر َكَع َفاْر َكُعوا‬،‫اْنَصَر َف َقاَل " ِإَّنَما ُج ِعَل اِإلَماُم ِلُيْؤَتَّم ِبِه‬
." ‫َوِإَذا َر َفَع َفاْر َفُعوا‬
Narrated `Aisha:
Allah's Messenger (‫ )ﷺ‬prayed in his house while sitting
during his illness and the people prayed behind him
standing and he pointed to them to sit down. When he had
finished the prayer, he said, "The Imam is to be followed
and so when he bows you should bow; and when he lifts
his head you should also do the same."
Hadith No: 1114
‫ َعْن َأَنٍس ـ‬،‫ َعِن الُّز ْهِرِّي‬،‫ َقاَل َحَّدَثَنا اْبُن ُعَيْيَنَة‬،‫َحَّدَثَنا َأُبو ُنَعْيٍم‬
‫رضى الله عنه ـ َقاَل َس َقَط َر ُس وُل الَّلِه صلى الله عليه‬
‫ َفَدَخ ْلَنا‬، ‫وسلم ِمْن َفَر ٍس َفُخ ِدَش ـ َأْو َفُج ِح َش ـ ِش ُّقُه اَألْيَمُن‬
‫ َفَحَضَر ِت الَّصَالُة َفَصَّلى َقاِع ًدا َفَصَّلْيَنا ُقُعوًدا‬،‫َعَلْيِه َنُعوُدُه‬
‫ َفِإَذا َكَّبَر َفَكِّبُر وا َوِإَذا َر َكَع‬،‫َوَقاَل " ِإَّنَما ُج ِعَل اِإلَماُم ِلُيْؤَتَّم ِبِه‬
.‫ َوِإَذا َقاَل َس ِمَع الَّلُه ِلَمْن َحِمَدُه‬،‫ َوِإَذا َر َفَع َفاْر َفُعوا‬،‫َفاْر َكُعوا‬
." ‫َفُقوُلوا َر َّبَنا َوَلَك اْلَح ْمُد‬
Narrated Anas bin Malik:
Allah's Messenger (‫( )ﷺ‬p.b.u.h) fell down from a horse
and his right side was either injured or scratched, so we
went to inquire about his health. The time for the prayer
became due and he offered the prayer while sitting and we
prayed while standing. He said, "The Imam is to be
followed; so if he says Takbir, you should also say
Takbir, and if he bows you should also bow; and when he
lifts his head you should also do the same and if he says:
Sami`a l-lahu liman hamidah (Allah hears whoever sends
his praises to Him) you should say: Rabbana walakal-
Hamd (O our Lord! All the praises are for You.") (See
Hadith No. 656 Vol. 1).
Hadith No: 1115
 ‫َحَّدَثَنا ِإْس َح اُق ْبُن َمْنُصوٍر‪َ ،‬قاَل َأْخ َبَر َنا َرْوُح ْبُن ُعَباَدَة‪َ ،‬أْخ َبَر َنا‬
‫ُح َس ْيٌن ‪َ ،‬عْن َعْبِد الَّلِه ْبِن ُبَر ْيَدَة‪َ ،‬عْن ِع ْمَر اَن ْبِن ُح َصْيٍن ـ‬
‫رضى الله عنه ـ َأَّنُه َس َأَل َنِبَّي الَّلِه صلى الله عليه وسلم‪.‬‬
‫َأْخ َبَر َنا ِإْس َح اُق َقاَل َأْخ َبَر َنا َعْبُد الَّصَمِد َقاَل َس ِمْعُت َأِبي َقاَل‬
‫َحَّدَثَنا اْلُح َس ْيُن َعِن اْبِن ُبَر ْيَدَة َقاَل َحَّدَثِني ِع ْمَر اُن ْبُن ُح َصْيٍن ـ‬
‫َوَكاَن َمْبُس وًر ا ـ َقاَل َس َأْلُت َر ُس وَل الَّلِه صلى الله عليه وسلم‬
‫َعْن َصَالِة الَّر ُج ِل َقاِع ًدا َفَقاَل " ِإْن َصَّلى َقاِئًما َفْهَو َأْفَضُل ‪،‬‬
‫َأ‬
‫َوَمْن َصَّلى َقاِع ًدا َفَلُه ِنْصُف ْج ِر اْلَقاِئِم‪َ ،‬وَمْن َصَّلى َناِئًما َفَلُه‬
‫ِنْصُف َأْج ِر اْلَقاِعِد "‪.‬‬
‫‪Narrated `Imran bin Husain:‬‬
‫‪) about the‬ﷺ( ‪(who had piles) I asked Allah's Messenger‬‬
‫‪praying of a man while sitting. He said, "If he prays while‬‬
‫‪standing it is better and he who prays while sitting gets‬‬
‫‪half the reward of that who prays standing; and whoever‬‬
‫‪prays while Lying gets half the reward of that who prays‬‬
‫"‪while sitting.‬‬
‫‪Hadith No: 1116‬‬
‫َأ‬
‫َحَّدَثَنا ُبو َمْعَمٍر‪َ ،‬قاَل َحَّدَثَنا َعْبُد اْلَواِرِث ‪َ ،‬قاَل َحَّدَثَنا ُح َس ْيٌن‬
‫َأ‬
‫اْلُمَعِّلُم ‪َ ،‬عْن َعْبِد الَّلِه ْبِن ُبَر ْيَدَة‪َّ ،‬ن ِع ْمَر اَن ْبَن ُح َصْيٍن ـ َوَكاَن‬
‫ا ‪َ ،‬قاَل َأ‬
‫ْل‬ ‫َأ‬
‫َس ُت‬ ‫َر ُج ًال َمْبُس وًر ا ـ َوَقاَل ُبو َمْعَمٍر َمَّر ًة َعْن ِع ْمَر َن‬
‫الَّنِبَّي صلى الله عليه وسلم َعْن َصَالِة الَّر ُج ِل َوْهَو َقاِع ٌد َفَقاَل‬
‫" َمْن َصَّلى َقاِئًما َفْهَو َأْفَضُل ‪َ ،‬وَمْن َصَّلى َقاِع ًدا َفَلُه ِنْصُف‬
 ‫ َقاَل َأُبو‬." ‫ َوَمْن َصَّلى َناِئًما َفَلُه ِنْصُف َأْج ِر اْلَقاِعِد‬،‫َأْج ِر اْلَقاِئِم‬
.‫َعْبِد الَّلِه َناِئًما ِعْنِدي ُمْضَطِج ًعا َها ُهَنا‬
Narrated `Abdullah bin Buraida:
`Imran bin Husain had piles. Once Abu Ma mar narrated
from `Imran bin Husain had said, "I asked the Prophet
(p.b.u.h) about the prayer of a person while sitting. He
said, 'It is better for one to pray standing; and whoever
prays sitting gets half the reward of that who prays while
standing; and whoever prays while Lying gets half the
reward of that who prays while sitting.' "
Hadith No: 1117

‫ُح َصْيٍن ـ رضى الله عنه ـ َقاَل َكاَنْت ِب َبَو ِس ُر َس ُت ِبَّي‬
‫َّن‬‫ال‬
‫ َفِإْن َلْم‬،‫صلى الله عليه وسلم َعِن الَّصَالِة َفَقاَل " َصِّل َقاِئًما‬
." ‫ َفِإْن َلْم َتْس َتِطْع َفَعَلى َجْنٍب‬،‫َتْس َتِطْع َفَقاِع ًدا‬
Narrated `Imran bin Husain:
had piles, so I asked the Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬about the prayer. He
said, "Pray while standing and if you can't, pray while
sitting and if you cannot do even that, then pray Lying on
your side."
Hadith No: 1118
‫ َقاَل َأ‬، ‫و َف‬

‫ُأ‬ ‫َأ‬
‫ َعْن َعاِئَش َة ـ رضى الله عنها ـ ِّم اْلُمْؤِمِنيَن‬،‫ َعْن ِبيِه‬،‫ُعْرَوَة‬
 ‫َأَّنَها َأْخ َبَر ْتُه َأَّنَها َلْم َتَر َر ُس وَل الَّلِه صلى الله عليه وسلم‬
‫ُيَصِّلي َصَالَة الَّلْيِل َقاِع ًدا َقُّط َحَّتى َأَس َّن ‪َ ،‬فَكاَن َيْقَر ُأ َقاِع ًدا‬
‫َأ َأ‬ ‫َأ‬ ‫َأ َأ‬
‫َحَّتى ِإَذا َر اَد ْن َيْر َكَع َقاَم ‪َ ،‬فَقَر َنْح ًوا ِمْن َثَالِثيَن آَيًة ْو ْر َبِعيَن‬
‫آَيًة‪ُ ،‬ثَّم َر َكَع‪.‬‬
‫‪Narrated Aisha:‬‬
‫‪(the mother of the faithful believers) I never saw Allah's‬‬
‫‪) offering the night prayer while sitting‬ﷺ( ‪Messenger‬‬
‫‪except in his old age and then he used to recite while‬‬
‫‪sitting and whenever he wanted to bow he would get up‬‬
‫‪and recite thirty or forty verses (while standing) and then‬‬
‫‪bow.‬‬
‫‪Hadith No: 1119‬‬

‫ْب‬ ‫ِه‬‫َحَّدَثَنا َعْبُد الَّلِه ْبُن ُيوُس َف ‪َ ،‬قاَل َأْخ َبَر َنا َماِلٌك ‪َ ،‬عْن َعْبِد الَّل‬
‫ِن‬
‫َيِزيَد‪َ ،‬وَأِبي الَّنْضِر‪َ ،‬مْوَلى ُعَمَر ْبِن ُعَبْيِد الَّلِه َعْن َأِبي َس َلَمَة‬
‫ْبِن َعْبِد الَّر ْح َمِن ‪َ ،‬عْن َعاِئَش َة ُأِّم اْلُمْؤِمِنيَن ـ رضى الله عنها ـ‬
‫َأَّن َر ُس وَل الَّلِه صلى الله عليه وسلم َكاَن ُيَصِّلي َج اِلًس ا‬
‫َأ‬ ‫ُأ‬
‫َفَيْقَر َوْهَو َج اِلٌس ‪َ ،‬فِإَذا َبِقَي ِمْن ِقَر اَءِتِه َنْح ٌو ِمْن َثَالِثيَن ْو‬
‫َأْر َبِعيَن آَيًة َقاَم َفَقَر َأَها َوْهَو َقاِئٌم ‪ُ ،‬ثَّم َيْر َكُع ُثَّم َيْس ُجُد‪َ ،‬يْفَعُل‬
‫ِفي الَّر ْكَعِة الَّثاِنَيِة ِمْثَل َذِلَك ‪َ ،‬فِإَذا َقَضى َصَالَتُه َنَظَر ‪َ ،‬فِإْن‬
‫ُكْنُت َيْقَظى َتَحَّدَث َمِعي‪َ ،‬وِإْن ُكْنُت َناِئَمًة اْضَطَجَع‪.‬‬
‫‪Narrated `Aisha:‬‬
‫( ‪(the mother of the faithful believers) Allah's Messenger‬‬
‫‪) (in his last days) used to pray sitting. He would recite‬ﷺ‬
‫‪while sitting, and when thirty or forty verses remained‬‬
from the recitation he would get up and recite them while
standing and then he would bow and prostrate. He used to
do the same in the second rak`a. After finishing the Prayer
he used to look at me and if I was awake he would talk to
me and if I was asleep, he would lie down.
