1.
As a student, I am deeply concerned about the devastating impact of natural
disasters on communities around the world. Recently, we have witnessed the
destruction caused by hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, and landslides, leaving
millions of people homeless, injured, and traumatized.
These disasters have not only destroyed physical infrastructure but have also
taken a toll on people's mental health and well-being. Many have lost loved ones,
livelihoods, and their sense of security. As a young person, it is heartbreaking to
see families and children suffering.
So, what can we do to help? We may not have the financial resources, but we
have the energy, creativity, and compassion to make a difference. We can start by
spreading awareness about disaster risk reduction and preparedness through
social media campaigns and school events. We can also organize fundraising
events, charity drives, and volunteer trips to support disaster relief efforts.
Moreover, we can offer emotional support to those affected by donating money,
usable clothes or even blood. Every small action counts, and together, we can
make a difference in the lives of those affected by natural disasters.
To sum up, natural disasters have been causing devastation globally. By working
together, we can change from suffering to a healthy community. One more time,
lets fight against natural disaster, and make a tangible difference in the lives of
those suffering.
2. Let me tell you about a study strategy that I have used to improve my learning
– self-study. Obviously, self-study allows learners to study at their own pace and
on their own schedule, without the need for a teacher or mentor.
Self-study is a learning method where I take charge of my own learning. I study
and review material on my own, without relying on others to teach me. This
method helps me understand and remember things better.
I started self-studying in my year of primary school. I was struggling to keep up
with my schoolwork and felt overwhelmed. I realized that I needed to take
responsibility for my own learning. So, I started setting aside time each day to
review my notes, read my textbooks, and practice problems on my own.
Self-study has made a big difference in my learning and school performance. I've
become more confident and independent in my studies. I can understand and
remember things better, which has helped me get better grades. Self-study has
also helped me develop good study habits and time management skills. I've
learned to prioritize my tasks, stay focused, and avoid procrastination.
Overall, self-study has been a valuable tool in helping me achieve my academic
goals. I have an advise that everyone should have their own learning method, to
personalize the learning experience, and making learning more flexible.
3. The electronic device I have is a smartwatch. I received it as a gift from my
parents on my last birthday. I got it from a popular electronics store in my
hometown.
To use my smartwatch, I simply put it on my wrist and pair it with my
smartphone. I can then access various features such as tracking my fitness goals,
receiving notifications, and controlling my music playlists. I can also use voice
commands to perform tasks like setting reminders and sending messages.
The benefits of using my smartwatch are numerous. It helps me stay organized
and on top of my schedule. I can also track my physical activity and receive
motivation to stay active. Additionally, it's convenient to receive notifications on
my wrist, allowing me to stay connected without needing to constantly check my
phone.
On the other hand, there are also some drawbacks to use my smartwatch. For
instance, the battery life can be limited, requiring frequent charging. Moreover,
excessive use can lead to distractions and decreased productivity. Finally, there's
the concern about data privacy and security. Overall, I strive to use my
smartwatch responsibly and maintain a healthy balance between technology use
and other aspects of my life.
4. Vietnam is home to a diverse array of ethnic groups, with a total of 54
recognized ethnicities. Ethnic minority groups make up approximately 14% of the
population, with around 13 million people. These groups reside primarily in the
mountainous regions of northern, central, and western Vietnam.
Among these groups, I am particularly fascinated by the Dao ethnic minority. The
Dao people make up around 0.93% of Vietnam's population, with approximately
890,000 individuals. They primarily reside in the provinces of Ha Giang, Lao Cai,
and Yen Bai.
Traditionally, the Dao people engage in agriculture, cultivating crops such as rice,
corn, and vegetables. They are also skilled craftsmen, renowned for their
expertise in weaving, embroidery, and metalwork.
The Dao people have a rich cultural heritage, with a strong emphasis on
spirituality and ancestor worship. Their traditional attire is distinctive, featuring
intricate embroidery and silver adornments. The Dao people also celebrate
unique festivals, such as the "Dao New Year" and the "Festival of the Forest." I am
drawn to the Dao people's resilience, cultural richness, and strong sense of
community, which has inspired me to learn more about this fascinating ethnic
minority group.
5. Wikipedia is a website that I often visit. I first learned about it from my older
sister when I was fifth-grader. She suggested that I use it as a source of
information for my school projects and assignments. Ever since then, I have been
using Wikipedia to explore various topics that interest me.
For those who are not familiar with it, Wikipedia is a free online encyclopedia that
contains information on almost any subject you can think of. It is an open-source
platform that anyone can contribute to, meaning that there is a vast range of
topics available to read about. The website is constantly updated, and users can
make edits to the information that is available, making it a highly informative and
reliable source.
I visit Wikipedia quite frequently, at least a few times a week. I find myself using it
as a starting point whenever I need to research a topic or find more information
on something. Whether it's learning about a new technology, reading up on
current events, or exploring a new hobby, I always seem to find myself on the
website. I also appreciate the fact that the website is accessible from anywhere
with an internet connection, so I can browse it on my laptop or my phone.
The reason why I find Wikipedia so useful is that it provides me with reliable and
unbiased information on a wide range of topics. I like that the website is
constantly updated and that users can make changes to the information. This
means that the information is always up-to-date and reflects the latest research
and findings. Additionally, I find the website's user interface to be intuitive and
easy to use, which makes it a convenient tool for quick reference or for more in-
depth research. Overall, I highly recommend Wikipedia to anyone looking for an
informative and reliable source of information on almost any topic.
6. Air pollution in our country is one of the most serious environmental problems,
and many major cities in our country are affected by it. Increasing carbon
emission from industries and automobiles makes it worse every day. Other
harmful particles produced from burning fossil fuel have made the situation
graver.
The effects of air pollution are really dangerous. Air pollution in my country is
responsible for many health-related problems among citizens, and also kills many
people every year. It is liable for causing respiratory disorders and many people
get sick who are exposed to air pollution for a long time. The usual short-term
problems include difficulties in breathing, bronchitis, heart ailments and so on
while it can lead to cancer or even death in the long run. Unfortunately, air
pollution in our country is reducing the life expectancy of many people.
No doubt, air pollution is a global problem now, and in my country, fossil fuels
and rapid industrialisation are the primary reasons behind it. The excessive use of
machinery and motorised vehicles ignites the rise of greenhouse gases in the
atmosphere. Increasing dust particles make things more damaging.
Air pollution is a burning issue for our country now. Some cautionary measures
should be taken to check the air pollution level. The most important step to
reducing air pollution is to reduce carbon emissions. So we need to reduce the
use of gas, oil and other fossil fuels. Alternative energy or green energy like solar
energy, hydroelectric power and wind power should be used more extensively. A
massive awareness among ordinary people about air pollution is also required to
curb the problem.
7. When being asked to describe an invention, most people would say the
computer, smartphone;…, but in my opinion, that is a bit boring. There are other
inventions that are just as important and essential in our daily lives, such as the
refrigerator.
While it's easy to take the refrigerator for granted, it has literally transformed the
way we live. One generation ago, not everyone had a refrigerator, and two or
more generations ago, they didn't even exist. Imagine living without a means of
effectively storing perishable food for days it may sound simple, but the
refrigerator has made a huge difference in our homes and saves us a tremendous
amount of time. In 1913, American Fred W. Wolf invented the first home electric
refrigerator, which featured a refrigeration unit on top of an icebox. In particular,
the refrigerator can keep food fresh for days, especially during hot weather when
perishable items like meat and fish can spoil quickly.
It's worth noting that the use of refrigerators has significantly reduced the
number of food-related illnesses. When a piece of meat or fish is taken out of a
cold environment, it can quickly become a breeding ground for bacteria. If you eat
such food, the chances of getting sick increase significantly. Properly refrigerated
and stored food has been a game-changer for humanity.
It’s hard to say that refrigerators can have drawbacks, including increased
electricity bills, potential breakdowns, and reliance on a consistent power supply,
which can lead to food waste during outages. However, refrigerators are still the
best choice for families who need a food-keeper place.
Today, refrigerators are not just popular, they are ubiquitous. It's hard to imagine
life without a refrigerator, and many families even own two fridges. They are also
easy to use - you simply plug the refrigerator into an electrical outlet, and it will
work using a mechanism and a special motor that keeps the interior cool. All you
need to do is set the temperature correctly. It's an item that anyone can use
without any hassle at all.
8. To tell the truth, as opposed to my nerdy appearance, I have never been a book
enthusiast. I don’t really experience joy in the process of sitting still and staring at
thick pages for hours, thus, I hardly ever read. Nonetheless, there is one book that
I actually take pleasure in reading. It is the New York Times number one best-
selling novel and has been adapted into a film by author Nicola Yoon, called ‘If I
Only Have One Day To Live'.
The first time I read this book, when my bestfriend introduced it for me, I felt it
was a real page turner. Much as I hate reading, somehow I managed to place an
order, sit down and spend my time on it. The book is quite compact in size so it is
quite easy to carry. The blue cover of the book is quite eye-catching.
The story revolves around the life of poor girl Maddy, from a young age, she was
diagnosed with a dangerous disease and lived separately from the world around
her. That life repeated every day, boring, boring but then one day Olly appeared,
that guy was like a light that brightened Maddy's life. She is no longer alone, every
day is an interesting gift, from short chat lines to wordless gestures through the
window. Naturally, Maddy broke her limits, Stepping out of the bubble house that
has held me back for so long to pursue my passion and freedom. The book drew
me into a never-ending adventure with rich emotions, sometimes happy,
sometimes sad, sad. It turned out that Maddy was not sick, but the obsession
with the death of her father and brother made her mother embrace her little
daughter. Through each page of the book, I discovered many interesting things,
that motherhood is great, but sometimes it is blind, and if you have a dream,
don't hesitate to pursue it, live a meaningful life. not simply exist. For me, this
book is very interesting and meaningful, full of humanity. In particular, it has
changed me quite a lot, from being a shy girl to being more confident, daring to
boldly pursue my passions.
9. From adults to teens to children, everyone has stress in everyday life. Adults
have the stress of a job, stress caring for families, and stress paying bills. Children
at a younger age also face stress when parent's fight, divorce, or are not capable
to learn as rapidly as other kids. Teens also face a lot of stress. Teenagers often
have a harder time dealing with stresses because they are at an age when it
seems not appropriate, or not cool, to ask adults for help, emotions and
hormones are out of control, and sometimes they just don't understand stress
causes it. School and parents are the two main causes for stress.
The first major cause for stress is school. Test taking, trying to achieve excellent
grades, starting a new school, trying to fit in, those can cause stress at school,
stress cannot be always terrible, some will cause pressure, some will cause one to
work harder. But mainly stress leads to headaches, lack of concentration,
forgetfulness, or stomachaches. Besides, bullying at school takes a more serious
reason why teenagers get stressed.
Teens can also face worries at home. Family conflict, divorce, illness and financial
hardship can cause stress. Otherwise, parents can also add to stress, as they may
(often not on purpose) place added pressure or expectations on their teens to do
well at school.
Thankfully, there are many methods that can help us cope with stress. First, sleep
well and do exercise. Teens need eight to 10 hours a night. Sleep needs to be a
priority to keep stress in check. Second, do exercise. Physical activity is an
essential stress reliever for people of all ages. Third, talk it out. Talking about
stressful situations with a trusted adult can help kids and teens put things in
perspective and find solutions. Last but not least, make time for fun. You can go
out with your beloveds or do things that help you relax such as cooking, listening
to music, seeing films...
I understand that stress is inevitable and there will always be better days ahead.
10. I’d like to talk about a job that I’ve always dreamed of having – being a travel
photographer. The idea of capturing beautiful landscapes, cultures, and moments
from around the world has always fascinated me.
To become a successful travel photographer, I believe I would need a strong
foundation in photography skills. Additionally, having an eye for detail, creativity,
and the ability to tell stories through images would be crucial. Qualifications like a
degree in photography or visual arts, along with experience in different types of
photography, would be beneficial.
If I were a travel photographer, I would get to work in various locations, from
bustling cities to remote villages, and even stunning natural landscapes. I imagine
myself traveling to different countries, experiencing new cultures, and
documenting them through my camera lens.
The reason I am drawn to this job is because it combines my passion for
photography with my love for exploring new places and cultures. I believe that
photographs have the power to inspire, inform, and evoke emotions, and I would
feel a great sense of accomplishment in being able to share my perspective of the
world through my photographs. This job would allow me to continuously learn,
grow, and connect with people from different walks of life, making it a fulfilling
and exciting career choice for me.
In conclusion, my ideal job as a travel photographer is a perfect blend of my
passion and skills. It may have its challenges, but the opportunity to create
meaningful visual narratives and inspire others makes it the ideal choice for me.
