Note: Facilitators who are assigned in each contests are not eligible to join as contestants, if do so,

ACADEMIC CONTESTS

QUIZ BEE
Facilitator:

Guidelines:
●​ Each team must have four (4) contestants, two representatives from 3rd year and one
representative from 2nd year and 1st year.
●​ Every team will be provided a whiteboard, marker, & eraser provided by the facilitators.
●​ The facilitator will read the question (thrice), these questions are formulated by the instructors.
The lessons will come from the 1st year to 3rd year, given by different instructors.
●​ There will be three rounds, Easy Round, Medium Round, and Difficult Round.
o​ Easy Round consists of 20 questions, each question is equivalent to 1 point.
o​ Average Round consists of 10 questions, each question is equivalent to 5 points.
o​ Difficult Round consists of 3 questions, each question is equivalent to 10 points.
Total: 100 points
●​ Time limit will be differ depending on the level of difficulties:
o​ Easy Round – 15 seconds
o​ Average Round – 20 seconds
o​ Difficult Round – 30 seconds
●​ The participants shall wait for the signal of the facilitators before answering.
●​ When the time is up, a signal is given and each team is required to raise their boards to show
their answers. Changing of answers is not allowed.
●​ Clincher round is only given in case of a tie.
●​ The team with the highest points is the champion, and runner-ups are placed accordingly
POEM WRITING
ENGLISH

Guidelines:
●​ The contest is open to all BSMLS enrolled students for A.Y. 2025-2026.
●​ Poetry must be an original work.
●​ The theme will be announced on the day of the composition, and each participant must ensure their
poems align with it.
●​ Poems must be written in English, with contestants allowed to create their own title.
●​ The poem must be handwritten with 4-6 stanzas, with each stanzas containing 4 lines. There is no word
limit in every line.
●​ Poems using offensive, vulgar, disrespectful, or somehow improper language will not be allowed.
●​ Poem entries must be handwritten.
●​ The contestants will have two (2) hours to compose their poems and submit it to the facilitators after the
said time.
●​ There will be a deduction of points (-5) if the contestant is still writing after the facilitator has announced
that time is over.
●​ By submitting your poem, you grant the MEDSSOC the right to use, publish, or display your poem.
●​ For questions and clarifications, please contact the assigned facilitators.

All entries will be judged accordingly to the following criteria:

●​ Ang kompetisyon ay bukas sa lahat ng lehitimong estudyanteng BSMLS na enrolado sa A.Y.
2025-2026.
●​ Lahat ng tula ay dapat na orihinal na komposisyon.
●​ Ang tema ay ipapahayag sa mismong araw ng kompetisyon, at kailangang tiyakin ng bawat kalahok na
ang kanilang tula ay sumusunod sa nasabing tema.
●​ Ang mga tula ay dapat nakasulat sa wikang Filipino, at pinapayagan ang mga kalahok na gumawa ng
kanilang sariling pamagat.
●​ Bawat komposisyon ay dapat binubuo ng 4 hanggang 6 na saknong, na may tig-apat na linya bawat
saknong. Walang limitasyon sa bilang ng mga salita bawat linya.
●​ Ang mga tula na naglalaman ng nakakasakit, malaswa, o hindi magalang na wika, o anumang anyo ng
hindi naaangkop na nilalaman, ay hindi tatanggapin.
●​ Ang tula ay dapat na isulat gamit ang kamay, hindi gamit ang computer o iba pang digital na paraan.
●​ May dalawang (2) oras ang bawat kalahok upang likhain ang kanilang komposisyon at isumite ito sa
araw ng komposisyon sa mga itinalagang tagapagsagawa.

POSTER MAKING
Facilitators:

Guidelines:
●​ The contest is open to all enrolled Medical Technology Students from Saint Gabriel College
A.Y. 2025-2026. Each team must have one representative.
●​ Contestants will be provided a ¼ illustration board is by the facilitators. However, they must
bring their own coloring materials. Only oil pastels, crayons, colored pencils, and markers are
allowed. Pencils and erasers may also be used for preliminary sketches and adjustments.
●​ Each contestants must submit one entry only.
●​ The theme for the poster making contest will be announced on the day of the competition.
●​ Every entry must be accompanied by a brief statement from the artist explaining the concept
behind their poster. Bond paper and tape will be provided for this purpose.
●​ The contest will have a 3 hours limit. Late submissions will be automatically disqualified.
●​ The following entries will be automatically disqualified if;

✔​ Entries that have previously been entered in competitions, published, or, otherwise used

for a commercial purpose.

✔​ Entries that infringe or trademark and copyright laws, as well as those that contain

explicit and malicious content that incites prejudice based on race, sex, religion, or other
forms of human and animal rights.

PHOTOJOURNALISM

Guidelines:
●​ The competition is open for all BSMLS students enrolled for A.Y. 2025-2026. Each team
should have one representative.
●​ Every contestant must have only one (1) photo entry.
●​ Entry must be a contestant’s original work.
●​ Only photos taken by digital cameras or smart phones are allowed. A single HDR photo
produced from multiple exposures and Black & White photos are acceptable.

​ Photos taken thru these are not eligible:


a.​ Film Camera
b.​ Fisheye Lens
c.​ Stitched Panoramas

​ Post processing of image is limited only to:

▪​ Cropping

▪​ Color enhancements (includes shadows and highlights only.)

​ Photo manipulation is not allowed.

●​ Photos must not contain any copyrighted material including artworks and other photos.
●​ Entries must not have been awarded in any other photo contests
●​ The photo entry and its meaning/description must not be offensive to any person, race, culture,
and others.
●​ The photo must be taken within the day of he contest (August 22, 2025) and the setting of the
photo must also be within the SGC campus only.
●​ The contest must take 2 hours only. Meaning, the photo taking, editing, and making of the
short caption must be done within two hours.
●​ A short caption, which is limited to 1-3 sentences only, is also encouraged in order to give
relevance to the photo.

●​ All entries must be printed and submitted in person to the facilitators on or before the
competition deadline.

separate sheet of paper attached to the entry.

ORATION (English)
Guidelines:
●​ The contest is open to all BSMLS enrolled students for A.Y. 2025-2026. Each team must have
one contestant.
●​ The piece must be original (unpublished) based on the theme/question “______”
●​ The delivery shall not exceed seven (7) minutes and not shorter than five (5) minutes. The
delivery must refrain from using slanderous or libelous statements. Every 10 seconds in
excess of the time mean 1 point deduction from the total score.
●​ Appropriate attire must be observed by the contestants. 3-piece attire for women (blouse/shirt,
overcoat, and pants/skirt). 2-piece attire for men (colored shirt and slacks, as denim pants is
not allowed)
●​ Contestants must arrive at the venue at least 30 minutes before the competition for the
drawing of lots.
●​ Contestants must submit 3 copies of the contest piece to the council before the contest.
●​ The decision of the judges is final and irrevocable.

IMPROMPTU SPEAKING (ENGLISH)
Guidelines:
●​ The contest is open to all BSMLS enrolled students for A.Y. 2025-2026. Each team must have
one participant.
●​ The topic will be related to the theme of the event.
●​ A topic is picked out by a contestant, (1) minutes before his/her delivery which must not
exceed for (2) minutes.
●​ The timer will ring after (2) minutes, 1 point will be deducted from the total score for every 30
seconds exceeded.
●​ The style of delivery may be controversial, oratorical, or a combination of both.

Criteria for Judging:


-​ Content: 30%
-​ Facility of the English Language: 25%
-​ Organization: 20%
-​ Delivery: 15 %

SPOKEN POETRY (FILIPINO)
Guidelines:
●​ The spoken poetry must be an original composition. It should be written in Filipino.
●​ Contestants should go related to the theme “____”
●​ The entry must illustrate, interpret, and emphasize the theme and must not contain any
malicious or offensive words.
●​ Sounds, instrumental, or music background is allowed to complement the delivery.
●​ The overall performance must be a minimum of (3) minutes and a maximum of (5) minutes.
●​ The contestants will be judged using the criteria below:

CULTURAL CONTEST

VIDEOKE COMPETITION
Guidelines:
●​ The contest is open to all BSMLS students enrolled on A.Y. 2025-2026. Every team must have
2 contestants (Boy & Girl).
●​ The contestants should select their song to the music book that best fits their vocal range and
style.
●​ Each participant is allowed only one entry.
●​ Participants can perform with the use of lyrics, as machine and monitor is provided.
●​ The contestant with the highest score on monitor is the winner.
●​ The decision of the judges is final and irrevocable.

DANCE COMPETITION
Guidelines:
●​ The competition is open to all BSMLS students enrolled on A.Y. 2025-2026.
●​ The dance should reflect the theme: Modern Pinoy Pop
●​ Any modern dance is allowed, including hiphop, locking, popping, contemporary, etc.
●​ Each group should be composed of 10-15 members.
●​ A maximum of two (2) propsmen are allowed, and they will not be counted toward the main
group members.
●​ The performance must be done at least 3 minutes and no longer than 5 minutes.
●​ Paid choreographers are not allowed. Students must create the choreography.
●​ Choreography should not be vulgar or contain any subliminal or sexually aggressive acts.
●​ Music Files must be submitted in MP3 Format, the day before the competition.
●​ Ensure that your music file is properly labeled with your group’s name and performance title.

MOBILE LEGENDS

Guidelines:
●​ The tournament is open to all BSMLS enrolled students for A.Y. 2025-2026.
●​ Each teams must consist of 5 members and 1 reserved player (optional).
●​ There will be no rank requirement, but piloted account is strictly not allowed.
●​ Each game will be played in a Custom Draft Pick Mode.
●​ Each team must provide their own internet/data connection or can connect to any of the
school’s Wi-Fi.
●​ Any violent or forms of trash talk to other players will be subjected to banning from the
tournament.
●​ Any form of cheating, installing, and adding of third-party applications will be subjected to
disqualification of team.
●​ Lag issue is strictly no Rematch/Restart of the game.
●​ All decisions made by the facilitators is final and irrevocable.
MR. & MISS MEDTECH 2025
Facilitators:

Guidelines:
●​ Each team must have a pair of students (one male and one female) representing them.
●​ Only contestants, with each having 1 or 2 student assistants, and authorized pageant staff are
permitted backstage.
●​ Contestants and assistants must adhere to backstage protocols to ensure a smooth event.
●​ Contestants must follow the guidelines for each pageant portion, including attire and
performance requirements.
●​ Any issues or concerns should be reported to pageant coordinators promptly.

Categories:
i.​ Production Number & Introduction Number
●​ Contestants must wear the official MedTech Shirt, paired with denim pants and white shoes
during the production number.
●​ Candidates are required to attend all scheduled practices and rehearsals
●​ The use of props is not permitted during the production number.
●​ Hairstyles and makep should be neat and appropriate, enhancing the overall presentation.

ii.​ Talent Portion


●​ Contestants can showcase any talent, such as singing, dancing, or acting, that
incorporates the Pinoy Pop Culture provided it does not involve dangerous acts or pose
harm to themselves or others.
●​ Talent performances must be at least 2 minutes and no longer than 3 minutes.
●​ The talent portion will be performed and scored individually.
●​ The use of backup performers is not allowed.
●​ Each contestant may have 1 or 2 student assistants to help with their props.
●​ Music must be submitted in a digital format (e.g. MP3) two (2) days before the
competition. Ensure the file is properly labeled with the contestant’s name and
performance number.

●​ The presentation must highlight Filipino pop culture, including icons, media, art, music,
film, television, fashion, food, games, memes, or trends that represent the Filipino
identity.
●​ Contestants are encouraged to integrate creativity, humor, and cultural pride in their
concept.
●​ The theme should be respectful and free from offensive or inappropriate portrayals.
●​ Costumes may be made from recyclable, eco-friendly, or sustainable materials,
showcasing both artistry and environmental responsibility.
●​ Outfits should be safe, wearable, and appropriate for stage performance.
●​ Props are allowed but should not cause obstruction, safety hazards, or delays in the
program.
