Overview The TWAIN initiative was originally launched in 1992 by leading industry vendors who
recognized a need for a standard software protocol and applications programming interface
(API) that regulates communication between software applications and imaging devices
(the source of the data). TWAIN defines that standard. The TWAIN Driver is the connecting
link between the software applications on the host computer (Scan Workstation) and the
imaging device (65 ppm Production Scanner).
The 65 ppm Production Scanner will work with any host software that is TWAIN compliant.
However, the degree of TWAIN compliancy may vary among different host software
packages. Verify with your equipment vendor that the software you select will be compatible
with the Scanner.

The TWAIN Driver software is not backwards compatible due to firmware

changes and a second image quality database.
