*EL will be credited after one year of continuous service.

CASUAL LEAVE (CL) :

i) Every employee is entitled to the prescribed number of days of causal leave in a calendar year as
mentioned above which will be credited in the beginning of the year.

ii) In the case of employees who join in the middle of a year, they will be eligible for casual leave on pro-rata basis.
An employee has to work for at least one month before availing one day casual leave. However, on
individual prudent need, the HOD has the discretion to authorize 1 day CL, with intimation to Whole
Time Director / Unit Head.

iii) CL will be granted up to a maximum of 3 days at a time.

iv) Half day casual leave can be sanctioned.

v) Intervening holidays/Weekly off will be excluded from the period of Casual leave applied.

vi) Casual Leave cannot be accumulated and any un-availed balance leave will get lapsed
automatically at the end of the calendar year.

SICK LEAVE (SL):

i) Every regular employee and trainee shall be entitled to Sick have as per limits mentioned above.
ii) Any sick leave beyond 3 days should be supported by a medical certificate issued by a Registered
Medical Practitioner.
iii) Intervening holidays falling within the sick leave period will be counted as sick leave only.

iv) Half day sick leave can be sanctioned.

v) In case of employees who join during the calendar year, sick leave is given on pro-rata basis. An
employee after putting up one month of continuous service can avail sick leave on valid grounds. The
HOD has the discretion to authorize the same with intimation to Whole Time Director/ Unit Head.

vi) SL cannot be clubbed with CL, but can be clubbed with EL after exhaustion of the existing SL
balance, on medical grounds only.

EARNED LEAVE (EL):

i) All regular employees and trainees shall be entitled to Earned Leave as per the limits
prescribed above for every calendar year.

ii) Earned Leave shall be credited to the account of each employee at the beginning of the subsequent year
based upon the number of days worked during the previous calendar year.

iii) In the case of employees who joins during the calendar year, EL will be credited on prorate basis for the
number of days an employee worked in the year he joined.

iv) All intervening Holidays / Weekly Offs will be excluded while availing EL.

v) All un-availed Earned Leave shall be carried forward to the subsequent years; however maximum
accumulation of earned leave will be limited to 90 days in the case of employees working at
Plant and 45 days in case of employees who are under Head Office payroll.

vi) Under normal conditions, EL can be availed in not more than four (4) spells in a calendar year.
However, in case the individual's need is more than 4 times, the HODs may take a prudent call after
need assessment with intimation to Whole Time Director/ Unit Head.

vii) EL will be sanctioned not less than 3 (three) days at a time. However, in absence of CL in the credit of
the employee, less than 3 days EL may be allowed by the sanctioning authority based upon the need &
reasons with intimation to Whole Time Director/ Unit Head.

viii) An employee desirous of availing of earned Leave shall apply at least 3 days in advance. However,
depending upon the emergency, the leave sanctioning authority may consider less than 3 days prior
intimation with intimation to Whole Time Director/ Unit Head.

ix) An employee shall be granted earned leave not more than 30 days at a time. However, depending upon the
emergency / reasonable cause, the leave sanctioning authority may consider for longer periods with due
approval from the Management with intimation to Whole Time Director/ Unit Head.

x) There is no provision of encashment of earned leaves as of date. However, any employee who resins or
retires from the services of the Company and in case of death while in service, will be allowed to en-
cash the unutilized portion of EL up to the accumulated limit mentioned.
xi) Advance EL will not be granted under normal circumstances. However, in case of exigencies,
advance EL may be allowed by the management as a special case, subject to adjustment of the
same as when it gets accrued in the normal course.

xii) EL cannot be clubbed with any other kind of leave in normal circumstances. However, on acute
medical grounds an employee can avail sick leave in continuation to EL applied earlier, provided
he/she does not have any further EL to his/her credit.

COMPENSATIORY OFF

i) The facility of Comp-off is available only to the employees below the cadre of Sr. Officer /
Sr. Engineer working in shifts at the units.

ii) Written information approved by HOD has to be given to the HR Department for
recording the attendance of an employee who had worked in extra shifts.

iii) Comp-Off's to be availed within three months from the date of credit, failing which the
same will get lapsed automatically.

MATERNITY LEAVE: (*Subject to Changes as per Acts and Rules by the Statutory authorities)

i) A female employee who has been confirmed and is on the time pay scale with no Children or less
than two surviving children may be granted maternity leave for a Maximum period of 12 weeks
i.e. 6 weeks prior to the delivery and 6 weeks post-delivery as per the Statutory Acts and Rules.

ii) For the female employees not covered under ESI, 12 weeks leave in all can be granted as per
discretion of the management, based upon certification from a qualified Medical Practitioner.

iii) Maternity leave not exceeding 30 days may also be granted to a female employee who has been
confirmed (irrespective of the number of surviving children) during the entire period of service in
case of miscarriage including abortion on the production of a medical certificate.

Maternity leave may be combined with any kind of leave except CL with prior approval of the HOD on
need basis only.
