1. Ask the pupils to fill out the All about Me poster.
2. Assist those who need help in filling out the poster.
3. Encourage phonetic spelling but write down the correct spelling in fine print
underneath the poster.

Lesson 2 The Sounds I Can Hear

Let Us Make Music!

1. Write the words loud and soft on the board.


2. Play upbeat music as background music for this activity. Make sure that the
music’s volume is on low so as not to disturb other classes.
3. Let the pupils play musical instruments or sing along with the music.
4. Tell them to play the musical instruments loud when you point to the word loud
on the board, and play the musical instrument softer when you point to the
word soft.
Lesson 3 I Spy with My Little Eye

Missing Body Parts

1. Show the pictures of bodies with missing parts to the class.


2. Discuss with the class what is missing in each picture.
3. Ask, “What might happen if you are missing your ear? Nose?” Then, tell the
pupils, “It might be hard to have a missing body part but people with missing
body parts can still do everyday activities on their own.”
4. Let the pupils draw the missing parts of the bodies.
Lesson 4 Clap and Rhyme Time

Fruit Shake

1. Show the chart of food to the class.

2. Discuss with the pupils how good food keeps the body healthy.

1. Ask each pupil to think of a story they want to tell. Let them decorate the front
cover of a book based on their story.
2. Have the pupils decorate also the back cover of the book.
3. Let the pupils share their outputs in class.

Guess the Letter

1. Show each flash card of objects to the pupils.


2. Let them guess if the object begins with Mm, Ss, Ll, Ff, Jj, or Ww.

1. Ask the pupils to draw their family members inside the heart shape.
2. Let them show their outputs in class.

1. Review the –ap, –at, and –am family words with the pupils.
2. Ask them to color red the boxes with –ap words, blue for –at words, and yellow

Lesson 5 Exciting Ee

Adding Letters

1. Tell the pupils that they will learn about math and reading for the day because
they will be adding letters for the activity.
2. Write the letters h, e, and m on the board. Put a plus sign between the letters.
3. Ask the pupils to produce the sound of each letter.
4. Combine the letter sounds to form the word.
5. Do the same steps for the succeeding words.

h + e + m = 1.
w + e + b = 2.
g + e + m = 3.
p + e + t = 4.

Fill the Pit

1. Ask the pupils to prepare crayons for the activity.


2. Have them pair up or form groups of threes.
3. Review the different /i/ family words with the pupils.
4. Draw a pit on the board.
5. Call on pairs/groups to fill the pit with short /i/ words.

Letter Hop

1. Prepare a large sign with the letter Oo written on the left and the letter Aa on the
right.
2. Play upbeat music as background music for the activity.
3. Review the short /o/ and short /a/ sounds with the pupils.
4. Read to the pupils the following words one at a time:

5. Have the pupils hop to the right of the sign if the word has a short /a/ sound

4. Make different patterns for the Bingo game for the pupils to enjoy.
