and Course of Action" questions present you with a situation or
a problem and propose potential solutions. Your job is to
determine which course of action is a logical, practical, and
appropriate response to the given situation.
Think of yourself as an administrator, a manager, or a
policymaker. You are given a situation report (the statement),
and you must decide on the best plan of action. This tests your
ability to think clearly under pressure, evaluate consequences,
and find workable solutions. A correct course of action is a
practical and feasible step that helps solve the problem or at
least lessens its severity.
4.2 The Anatomy of a Correct Course of Action
How do you identify a course of action that is logical
and appropriate? A valid course of action must
satisfy three key criteria.
1. It Must Address the Core Problem: The primary test is whether the action
will solve, reduce, or mitigate the problem described in the statement. An
action that is irrelevant to the problem or only addresses a minor symptom is
not a valid course of action.

required.
