The Legend of the Koi Fish

On one occasion, a small fish from the koi family, swimming alongside its
family by the Golden River wanted to navigate upstream to reach the Blue River. The entrance was
upstream; passing through the Dragon's gate, one would reach the Great Waterfall of
Blue River. There, the bravest fish -the dragon fish- flew through the skies.
lighting up all the darkness. Most of the inhabitants of the Golden River thought it was
much easier to keep swimming with the flow of the river current and did not care about
what was behind the Dragon portal. However, the little koi, determined to find the
Waterfall that his father had talked to him so much about, he prepared to swim upstream against the
current.

The little fish slowly swam forward and made its way through the river. Along its path
he found numerous obstacles: a great monster that swallowed everything that swam at its
step, dirty and dark water that did not let him see anything and, above all, the force of the water
that was dragging it in the opposite direction. The koi fish continued; it was already close, it sensed it,
until he noticed that something strange was happening: there was less and less water around him. Soon
he checked that, a little further on, there was a stone wall that rose almost to the
sky. On the other side of the wall, the Dragon's gate stood tall. To cross it, the koi fish
he thought he should jump as high as possible. He tried it over and over again. However, his
the little body fell back into the waters of the Golden River and the exhaustion made the wall
he would seem much taller still.

While the little koi was gathering strength again to attempt another jump, the God
from the Waters, who was observing him, excited by the bravery of the fish, decided to give him
a hand. He called the waves to accompany him in his thrust and, in this way,
he will reach the summit and will manage to pass through the other side of the Dragon's portal. Thus it happened. The little one

Koi disappeared in the fog and, shortly after, was reborn as a beautiful fish.
dragon.

Since that day, whenever another fish finds the courage, the strength, and the
perseverance to go against the current until reaching the waters of the Blue River, is
rewarded with metamorphosis and transformed into a beautiful dragon fish.
